Mt Zion Krekels is the best of the bunch! They prepared.an awesome cheeseburger meal for me. Signature Krekel patties, repleat with crispy edges. A heaping helping of fresh French fries .... YuM. Thanks for making em fresh, even though it was late.

Local ice cream & burger joint with a hometown atmosphere, exceedingly clean dining area. Ample parking, fast service. Affordability a plus, with the usual regular selections. Fast food dining without the chain thing. Outdoor dining area.

Look here, if you think you know smash burgers, you don’t know jack until you’ve had Krekels burgers, they’ve been doing smash burgers before smash burgers were a thing, and they’re still that good. The staff is efficient and Karen has been nothing but great for this business. I had a great experience today, and wish I could eat here more often. Since we’ve moved away, we visit each time we get a chance to come back.

No longer the newest Krekel's in Decatur-land but retains the wonderful food options. If you want a hamburger cooked fresh on the grill with crispy edges and grilled onions, this is your place. The fries are great, although the onion rings are just so-so. This place is on my "must stop" list because they always have lemon custard softserve available, which is hard to find in the winter here.

We had a great deal of local recommendations from family and friends. It reminded me of Steak & Shake from many years ago. This was the first time we visited and will be back when there is not a crowd.

I had a cheeseburger, fries, grilled cheese, and chocolate shake. They were excellent. The grilled cheese could have used a little more butter on the crust, but it was good. More of a personal preference. The shake, fries and burger were perfect.

I sat inside, and the customer service was great! I got a banana split, and it was amazing! I ate every last bite! Good job Krekels!

We LOVE Krekels custard. I go for the lemon and strawberry swirl, my wife does the chocolate and vanilla swirl, both are fantastic (mine is better). We typically just get the small cones as they are plenty for a little treat.

Food is great! Shakes, burgers, and chicken are the best. The fries are okay, but crinkle cut is meh. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. The girl taking our order did seem cranky and did not smile at all but ultimately I love this place.

Went through the drive-thru and it was full but quick. Ordered a double cheese and cheese bites and e everything was so good and fresh.

Ordered 4 double cheeseburgers 4 fries and had it all in minutes all was fresh and hot! Was about $26

I only had the ice cream, but they do have basic burgers and fries menu (maybe like a DQ). I got the Peanut butter cup milkshake it was amazing. They have patio seating so I was able to sit outside with my dog and enjoy some good cool treats in the warm weather.

Kreckel's is the first stop whenever we visit Decatur, and our last stop before we leave, We always take at least 6 double cheeseburgers for our freezer in Colorado.

Always have to bring out of town visitors here to our Decatur icon! The response is always the same "this is so good!"

Hands down the best burgers I have ever had. I live 2 hours away and every time I'm in town I have to buy a bag full to take back home. True my wish they were closer!!! If I could give more stars, I would!

Best hamburgers in the Midwest. Shakes, ice cream are awesome, too. Expect to wait during busy times. It’s worth it. This is not fine dining. It’s a burger joint of the old style. Classically delicious. I eat here every time I come to Decatur. Worth the trip!

My favorite burger place and extra thick shakes are the bomb !!! Crispy edges on burgers make them even more delicious.

The line may be long, but there's a reason why. Friendly people who seem to enjoy their job. Great food, awesome shakes, and the smell of the grill will take you back to a place of your younger days.
