D. Fong's Chinese Cuisine David Fong's Savage

I liked the original Fong’s in Bloomington, but it closed. D.Fong’s, as far as I can tell, is about the same menu.

Good food. Small seating area. We got seated quickly and served quickly on a Saturday night. I liked it. I’d certainly eat here again if I’m in the area.

I visited the original David Fong's a long time ago with my dad when we were in the cities for new years. We both remembered the restaurant for some of the best Chinese food we have had. Unfortunately the original restaurant closed, but the food still lives up to the memory here.

I came for dinner on a Friday night and was able to be seated instantly. All of the staff was very friendly, the food is very affordable and you get a large portion too. I ordered a dinner combo (chicken chow mein and egg foo young) along with an order of egg rolls. Everything was extremely delicious.

Take note that the yellow sauce accompanying the eggs rolls is hot mustard and not a special house sauce (don't dunk your egg roll in it unless you also wish to have an accidental out of body experience).

I will surely be returning with my dad to try many more dishes in any future visits to Minneapolis.

We have been so disappointed with our local Chinese food options. Used to eat regularly and the taste and quality has gone downhill. Decided to try picking up elsewhere and was not disappointed with D Fong’s! Food was delicious. Fresh and flavorful. Will definitely be back! Take out was quickly prepared and still hot when we got home. Love how the sauces are kept separate from the chicken so you don’t have soggy food. Highly recommend!

It's been a few years since I reviewed these guys. Nothing has changed! Some awesome food. Excellent service. You can count on these folks to give quality time and time again!!

I always Order the chicken fried rice and cream cheese wontons- they are so good! Always taste fresh

This is the 2nd time we’ve done delivery and the 2nd time my husband and I have agreed it’s the best Chinese food in Minnesota! Insanely good! HIGHLY recommend the General Tao’s chicken and egg foo young. SO good. The chicken comes with the sauce on the side so that it doesn’t get soggy while traveling and it’s the most genius thing they could do! Chicken stays nice and perfectly crispy upon delivery and you can control the amount of sauce. The chicken lo mein is great quality. Prices are kind of high when we ordered through Doordash but honestly the food was worth the price. Soooo good!

Wonderful Chicken Almond Ding, so good I haven't tried anything else. : ) My friend has tried many of the main dishes and has enjoyed them all. We always split an order of the delicious sweet and sour soup. Service is very fast, friendly, and caring. Atmosphere is the usual for Chinese Cuisine, take out entry with fish tank and then to the left there is the dining room. You rarely have to wait. Strongly recommend.

Celebrated our daughters birthday there tonight.Such a nice staff and visit with Mr.Fong.The food exceptional as usual.We miss the Lyndale Fongs,but this is worth the drive!

It's great that there's still a David Fongs in MN, hands down one of, if not the best Chinese restaurant I've ever been to, my dad (Big Al) is even friends with the owner David Fong Jr., I highly recommend going here if you want amazing food.

One of the best in town, I have never had an issue with the food, the service or take out. Gotta try them out if you haven’t!

While visiting our favorite meat market Von Hansens in Savage, the wife and I decided to try D. Fongs for lunch. We were quickly seated with menus and asked for drinks. We had the mini crab rangoons and pan fried dumplings for start. They were very good with a trio of dipping sauces. For our mains the wife had the chicken chow mein and I had the Generals Chicken. Hands down the best Chinese I've had!! Service was excellent also. I've been driving past this place for years and kick myself for not trying it sooner. Cant wait to go back! Thank you D.Fongs!

My family and I all love this restaurant! It has a variety of options, low wait time, and great employees. My personal favorite is the Sweet & Sour Chicken. The meal comes with Sweet & Sour Chicken, fried rice, and cream cheese wantons. Would highly recommend!!!

Finally found good, old fashioned Chinese takeout. The entry and restaurant were clean and inviting. I'll be back.

Good service, food came out fast, and the vegetables was fresh and cook to perfection.

I didn't like the egg rolls much, too much cabbage for my liking. Fried rice that came with the lunchbox meals is not as good as I expected, maybe the house fried rice is better. Overall a decent meal, we will keep this place in our lunch rotation.

Wish you could get a single vegetable egg foo young patty for takeout and miss pork wontons
