My favorite local sushi place. Hands down. Always good and very friendly staff, especially Helen.

Words cannot describe how great Ginger Sushi is. Food is fantastic and the fish is fresh and perfectly cut. Highly recommend the salmon sashimi, Andy roll, SST roll, and fried California roll. You truly can’t go wrong with any of the options.

The food and the service was incredible. I have two little very talkative girls and the team there showed them all the attention they needed. Not sure how long they have been open for but we’ve been living in scotch plains for 8 years and just finally visited. Everyone that walked in was greeted with a hug so they clearly have a lot of repeat customers that they take care of. This is the place 👏

This is a nice little Sushi Restaurant! The venue is small and so it really is more suitable for takeout. But it's not fancy, so we stopped by for a Sunday lunch! The Mango sushi was excellent!! Friendly owner!!! Highly recommend!!!

This restaurant always exceeds my expectations!! By far the best sushi in the area. The owners genuinely care about their customers and always provide the best service. I don’t leave good reviews often but I had to for Ginger Sushi! 10/10 recommend!!

Editing my review since it's been a few years: this has easily become our new favorite spot for sushi, whether it be dining in or take out. The staff is always friendly, and everything is delicious and fresh. Just a note: the space inside is small, only a handful of tables.

Seriously one of the best Japanese restaurants in the country. The Staff is extremely friendly and the knife skills of the chefs are 💯. My new go-to spot in town.

Excellent sushi! The special rolls are delicious and creative as well as being very large. This is the second time I have been and both times have been wonderful the stay is very attentive and the sushi chef is very talented. The fish is the best quality that you can find hands down. The nigiri has a generous fish to rice ratio. The rice is excellent, well seasoned and firm just like sushi rice should be. I always sit at the sushi bar. The place is on the smaller side but that just means the service will be better. The vanilla mochi ice cream that they serve is quite literally the best I have ever had and is a must have. I highly recommend this place if you want top quality sushi. If you want cheap crappy sushi go somewhere else. I just wish I had a bigger stomach and budget!

To the reviewer, Kris Torres, who wrote "so skimpy, I'll never go again", I call "BULL!". This is my 4th time here; it's the most generous sushi place I've ever been to!

Top quality sushi and sashimi!

finally... a sushi joint nearby that is worth it... really good sushi rolls and fried matcha ice cream...

I ordered the Unadon, Chicken Katsu and a sushi roll. Everything was very very good. The lady was nice and courteous! Very happy there is a good Japanese restaurant near me! 😀

Wonderful local sushi spot. We came on Valentines Day. The team was working so hard with many, many orders. The food quality is outstanding and everyone is so friendly. Creative rolls and traditional favorites. Highly recommended.

Love this little gem! I have been coming here for years when it was recommended to me and the people are always so nice, especially the one woman who seems to be in charge/own it. The sushi is very fresh, it's a small place but worth eating in and it's byob. During the week it is easy to get a table but friday nights it can get super busy and you could wait a bit.

This is high end sushi at a reasonable price. Great service! Delicious food! I have been going here for years and the quality has never wavered. The fried California is worth giving your family the death stare for the last piece. Spoiler alert: if you eat at the restaurant you get complimentary mochi!

Very fresh, generous portions, quick service. I’ve been working at a dental clinic locally and I’m so glad i found this amazing lunch spot!! I’m usually still hungry after 1 signature roll at many other sushi spots but they made this big! I also still can’t get over how fresh all the fish tasted. Looks like I’ll be here on my lunch break often! Highly recommend !
