I loved the food. It's very different. It was my first time experiencing Greek culinary. The cheese appetizer was soooo strong but good, the beet salad was great ( except for the goat cheese), the crab cakes i didn't like at all. the main dish was delicious. The desert was the best for me..they are not expensive and its BYOB.

Great place but even with a reservation we had to wait for service. Probably should have had a bit more help there, but that's expected for a popular place with a good rating so just relax and enjoy your time out. I had the lobster gyro which was delicious. The wife had the Lavraki which she raved about!

I had an excellent experience in this restaurant. I went to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and it was perfect. Excellent customer service. The restaurant was very clean and organized. The bathrooms were also in perfect condition and the waiters are all professionals in customer service, especially my Waitress Gabby was a professional, I give her in my rearing 💯 points for good service and customer service, fully recommended the Greek on the main restaurant in Metuchen New Jersey 😎🥰❤

The waiter was super nice and personable. When we asked for suggestions for food, with this guy it felt like a really close friend or family member giving us suggestions . His suggestion for the pork chop was on point! That pork chop was super thick but they somehow managed to keep it moist! Also definitely the grilled calamari and the fried cheese, they are excellent appetizers!

We had a large party of 13 and everyone had a great time! The service was top-notch friendly fun and quick! The food was really good, we got an assortment of dips, gyros, fish specials all were absolutely delicious and desserts were out of this world especially the olive oil cake and the baklava!

Excellent Greek restaurant. Ate lunch there today and enjoyed the grape leaves as an appetizer and the spicy orzo with lentils as the main. Everything was excellent including our server Mary.

So my family and I ate here today (5/11/24). We had a group of 14. Our server Buse was amazing from start to finish. The food was exceptional. I highly recommend the grilled octopus , drunken mussels and clams and the fig flatbread. I enjoyed a perfectly made Chilean Sea Bass. But I do know from others in my group that the lamb chops , short ribs and Patstitsio were all phenomenal as well. I highly recommend this restaurant whether it is a Greek lunch you are seeking or a fine dining experience. We will be back !!!

We come here for quick bites, date nights and family reunion. Good food, (extremely) reasonable price and super friendly service. Make sure you come here regularly for their specials. Chef Teddy Kappas is very creative and will rotate the menu every month or so based on the fresh ingredients they get. I had my wedding reception here. With a relatively short notice, Chef Kappas was able to reserve the place for us and presented such a fabulous buffet (with soft drinks, appetizers, salad, entrees and dessert) for 52 adults plus 2 kids and 4 1-year-old babies. All the waiters and waitresses were so delightful, nice and quick! They literally took good care of my every single guest. Everybody had such a good time - I know this for sure because some of my guests who also went to other (dinner) parties on the same day texted me just to tell me that our food was the BEST. As newly wedded couples who had 0 experience of hosting any big parties, we really appreciate what chef Kappas did for us and our family. A big surprise came towards the end: my husband’s dad was Greek who passed away when my husband was 2 years old. To let us experience some Greek tradition and culture and have a “taste” of Greek wedding, chef Kappas hand-made "koufeta" as dessert for our guests. I was truly touched. The Greek on Main is much much much more than just a Greek restaurant. If you happen to be in our neighborhood, do not miss the chance to enjoy a meal with love and care at this lovely Greek restaurant.

In New Jersey for a special occasion, we met with my sister in Metuchen for dinner and afterwards felt like dessert and coffee so decided to visit The Greek on Main.

Decorated outside and inside we were quickly shown to a table and served by a very nice server Gabby who gave us recommendations and was very attentive. We had 2 decaf, 1 Greek tea and for dessert a galaktaboureko like a sponge cake but not too sweet and of course bread pudding.

Nice to sit down and catch up. Lucky for us the restaurant was not too crowded so service was awesome.

Definite recommend.

Nice atmosphere and has indoor and outdoor seating. The food is good although I still think Kyma in Somerset, NJ, is still better. We had the Feta on Filo appetizer which was solid. We got two of the special dishes for the day which was the stuffed chicken and sea bass dishes. The dishes were very good. I would come back to try more dishes.

The prices are a bit high compared to other Greek restaurants I’ve been to but the food quality and taste is worth it. You’re probably looking at $30-35 a person for dining for two without alcohol.

Greek on Main was amazing, delicious food, incredible service, great atmosphere and BYOB. If you have not tried them, do so. Everything ordered was tasty, fresh and quickly devoured.

Have been coming here for years because of the fabulous food. Food is as good as any top rated restaurant in Manhattan! We always get the grilled calamari, as it's hands down the best we have had anywhere. Tonight, we had their special stuffed veal chop and branzino and it was wonderful. Will continue to come back to this culinary gem.

Authentic Mediterranean / Greek food! Loved the appetizers and the giros! Certainly a healthier option with an excellent service!

The chicken gyro was fantastic. The cheese fries were like the best mozzarella sticks I’ve ever had! The fries that came with the dish were actually cold and soggy but after mentioning it to the server, they brought out a large plate of fresh crispy fries which was appreciated. Will return.

We always go there for family occasions, very relax, elegant, excellent food, never disappointed. The octopus is like no other, simply tender and delicious.
