Wood Stack Pizza + Kitchen Metuchen

I first came to this place a year ago for my birthday. I didn't come back because it brought back not-so-good memories of that year. Fast forward a year later and friend wanted to come and so I said ok, lets give it a go. It was a good decision.

After waiting about 10 minutes to see the host/hostess, we were seated quickly upstairs. I cannot express how great the service was, from the bus boys to our great waitress, Allison (sp), who made the evening extra special. Both she and the boys made me blush and made that dining experience very memorable, so THANK YOU!

The food were amazing. The bread was good. The appetizer we chose, I believe it was the octopus, was GREAT! I ordered the Jersey pizza and it was fresh and delicious. My friend ordered the Peppa Pig pizza and it sure was meaty. Both pizzas were actually large enough for two to share. My other friend ordered pasta and she seemed to have enjoyed it, and she ordered the half size so it was just the perfect portion for her. And for dessert, we had to order a cake... and it came with a surprise. A very pleasant surprise so again, THANK YOU very much to the staff. I just wish my mojito (or was it a margarita?) had less ice and more drink lol.

So, from the atmosphere to the food and to the great staff, I'd definitely keep coming back again.

Did a reservation on Resy, and it was a great experience. It was packed! Their Pizza was great we had the “Grandma”. It was so good! Loved it. Recommend it and had the pasta as well. The crostini was different and super good. The eggplant filing was yum!

I came here 2 weeks in a row because every thing I ordered was so delicious!

Came here once for dinner and also a week later for brunch
- chicken and waffles: tender juicy fried chicken thigh, waffle was so fluffy! Maple syrup and gravy were flavorful as well. I just wish the portion size was bigger for the price
- peppa pig pizza: perfect balance of pepperoni, sausage and other meat toppings. The sourdough crust was thin and perfectly chewy
- strozzapreti: I love a good sausage and broccoli rabe pasta and this one is one of my fave because the pasta is also home made
- wings: covered in delicious maple chili sauce. Wings were tender and juicy

I love this spot in Metuchen and I can't wait to try more pizzas here!

We recently visited Woodstock for a catered baby shower for a party of 65 people. They seated us in the upstairs lounge specifically for buyouts. The staff was very attentive, professional, and the food was very good for large -scale, family style catering. The pizza was genuinely remarkable. Nice leapord spotting.

All the food came out hot and well seasoned. Having worked in catering for years, I know this is no small task! Well done, Woodstock!

This place has grown on me!

I usually stop here on the way back from NYC on the weekends since it's on my way home from the Metuchen Train Station. Really digging the rustic Italian country-side feel of this place - maybe I have it wrong but the interior decoration is fitting.

The lunch crowd isn't too bad and the bar, only place I sat at, is practically empty. Dinner is another story; place is packed, tables are full, and the bar is crowded. There have been a couple of times where I had to wait for a seat and on some occasions left. I'm there solo and I would rather sit at the bar. I also noticed that besides having a second floor, they have outdoor seating when the weather is nice. Wonder if there is an outside bar too.

Every staff member I've encountered was always pleasant and had a smile on their face! The bartenders, a few that I've appreciated, always provided great customer service; timing was perfect (never waited a long time to be acknowledged and drinks/food were brought out in a reasonable amount of time).

The food was always brought out from the kitchen just as I had ordered it - never had to send anything back - and tasted great! First time I ate there, I ordered a chicken sandwich with fries during lunch and it was delicious! Someone next to me, God bless them for letting me get a snapshot in, ordered a salmon salad and even though I'm not huge on seafood, the whole presentation had me salivating (sorry for the TMI, LOL)!

The second time there, I ordered a seasonal gnocchi and wish I could provide more detail but all I have to say is I wish I opted for the dinner portion rather than the lunch. The sauce was creamy like a rose Alfredo sauce. Dipping the two varieties of their fresh, warm bread in that sauce was exceptional!

The third and fourth time I ate there I ordered steak minus the starchy carbs - subbed them with asparagus and other veggies. Now you might be thinking why aren't you getting the pizza or pastas, which is what they are known for. I'm getting there and hopefully one day I'll get to try their The steak came out just how I asked them to prepare it - it wasn't a fatty piece

All-in-all, this place gets an all star rating from me - everything from the customer service, food, drinks, and ambiance is executed very well!

Great experience here, the service was attentive and friendly. Food was fantastic, reasonably priced but the quality is that of a higher scale restaurant. We loved the pizza, brussels sprouts, and maple chili wings - so many delicious flavors in one meal! The rustic, upscale atmosphere made for a very enjoyable experience. Our server Omar was fantastic. We would definitely come back and highly recommend.

Its such a big pleasure to find this beautiful pizza/brunch/bar spot in Metuchen. The building is very new and bright, with open kitchen so you can see the old style pizza oven with wood. The pizza is personal size (maybe 8 inch), whether you are veggie or meat lover, you find the right one for you. The sour dough served in the beginning is wonderful! Fresh baked, perfectly served with warm chases.

Very open and pleasant atmosphere with modern design. Pizza was delicious. However, it does get a bit greasy. Service was very quick, had my pizza within 15 min of ordering but that was around 1:30pm on a Friday.

This a wonderful restaurant it’s a perfect place to go out with friends night out , pizza it’s delicious, grilled octopus was amazing super tasty , highly recommend pasta’s… don’t hesitate to make a trip there, make reservations instead of waiting long…
Great service and atmosphere…

I fell in love. Great place for Sunday brunch. Excellent customer service - people who work there are extremely kind and professional - from hostess to waitress. Food was great. I ordered pizza and was not disappointed at all. Urban style of venue with its high ceiling and pendant lighting looking great. The main reason why I will come back is their bread! As an European I miss fresh crunchy bread with simple ingredients and no sugar added. They have fantastic bread! And you can even buy one fresh one to go, what I did. So happy I discovered that place!

Awesome friendly customer service, plenty of gluten-free options, just ask the waiter/ waitress. The octopus was grilled to perfection, risotto was so yummy 😋 and portion was spot on. Pizza dough was thin and had smoky flavor.

It was my first time there. Our server Brandon was very pleasant. Our meal was great. I had the peppa pig. I loved it. The crust is not too thick (just the way I like it), it was toasted just the right brown. It was full of meat. I think the best part is all of it coming together just right: dough, crust, meat, fired, temperature, the cheese. My problem with most other pizza places is that at least one of those will be off, which is why this « peppa pig » combined everything perfectly for me.

Nice atmosphere, with an industrial aesthetic. Food was really good, and tasted fresh. The waiters were nice and helped with everything we needed.

Had to sit at the bar, which turn out to be surprisingly awesome! Sophie our bartender was the best. In fact all (3) of them were awesome! There were smiles around the whole bar. 🙂 The food was fabulous and so were the drinks. I highly recommend this establishment. Just make sure you make a reservation no matter what they tell you on the phone.😛

Good lunch at wood stack. Get a res or go early, place filled up fast. Nice drink selection, including rare whiskeys. Service was good, fast and friendly. Burratta was nice, bread was great, wish I had taken a loaf to go, which they offer. Pizza was good, I think the crust needed a little more char and “poof” to be true Neapolitan style

Best casual atmosphere yet fine dining quality food with seasonal menus and creative cocktails. Trendy interior. Outstanding fresh bread and pizzas. Homemade pastas. And Brussels sprouts that will make you crave them weeks later.

Great place to eat fancy but also watch a game at the bar. Its got everything.
We went with a large group and they were very accommodating. We closed the place down.

The pizza was a Jersey Garden pizza with the Octopus appetizer. The interior was nice a spacious. Service was quick and friendly even though we ordered takeout. The pizza was a Neapolitan style pizza with good crust and burn in just the right places. The pizza is cooked in a wood oven. The octopus was crispy outside and very tender inside. The prices are a bit higher than the standard pizza place. The pizza was $16 for a little bigger than a 12 inch pie. Taste is excellent and pricing for Neapolitan style pizza is reasonable.

Went for dine in for brunch. Tried the meatballs and a pizza (Pizza Barese). Both were excellent. Great taste. Server was friendly and attentive. Love the decor inside and it’s very spacious.

Wonderful food. Dont let the name fool you into thinking it is a pizzeria. It is a good restaurant with outstanding food. Will definitely be back. Best wings I've had in a long time. Loved the roasted Brussels sprouts. The pasta was delicious.
