Basilico

We had an excellent sat night dinner at Basilico. It authentic Italian flair with a cozy ambiance . Reservation is highly recommended. Please note I was not able to get it at open table but when I called I got my table.
They have a wine list but you can also bring your own.
We got complementary warm bread and butter to start.
For appetizers we got the caprese salad which was quite nice in terms of freshness of the ingredients but missed the balsamic.
Our daughter got the kid’s spaghetti and meatballs. We ordered the short ribs, carbonara and I got the porcini ravioli in walnut truffle sauce. I think my dish was the best. I have recently switched to vegetarian and this dish opened a whole new perspective for me ! For dessert we got the blueberry almond tart which came with vanilla ice cream but we asked for cinnamon. Our server was very kind to accommodate that request. Overall we had a great meal. Highly recommended

Great food and service. We loved romantic music played quietly.
And, you are not charged extra if you bring your bottle of wine.

The best Italian restaurant in the area and it’s not even close! Food is always amazing, no matter what you order. Desserts are hand made and always impressive! Absolutely love it here!

Food and service are fantastic. Veal Milanese is not on the menu but the kitchen will accommodate! The salad on top of the veal is so fresh and offers a lovely contrast to the crispy cutlet. Service is fantastic and their homemade pastas are off the charts!

We live in Montclair and don’t venture out much to other towns as we have great dining locally, but we had friends staying at Short Hills so I searched for Italian restaurants in the area. I am so happy I picked Basilico. We had some of the BEST Bluepoint oysters to start- so fresh and flavorful! Next, 4 pp shared 2 salads- just great- ingredients were fresh, portioned perfectly, and lightly dressed (not overpowering). For entrees, our friends shared the “ Sunday Sauce” entree, it was delicious-the ragu style sauce was just terrific. We also enjoyed the chicken parm and a very nice version of carbonara. The restaurant serves wine, bottle or 1/2 bottle only, and feature one winery only. The wine is very fairly priced and good quality- we liked the Super Tuscan. If you are in the area this restaurant t won’t disappoint!

We go here 2-3 times per year before shows @ PaperMill. I love the fact that they offer a Vegan Entree. We prefer a seat in the elevated rear section.

Very nice place in Milburn had wonderful osso bucco and some great salads with friends. Excellent service. The whiskey desert will knock your socks off

Excellent service very warm inviting friendly or she's going to leave anything here so I can just go home after. The food was amazing. Brought my own bottle of nice wine and enjoy the night. Not your typical Italian restaurant has many exotic dishes along with the traditional ones. I personally had the beef rib and it was so soft and succulent I did not even have to use a knife. So we decided to save room for dessert and what a good decision because they have one of the top pastry and dessert chefs around and that definitely finished the night off correctly thank you for a good night

Haven't been there in a while but the food was as good as I remembered. We all went with Italian classics like fruiti di mare with squid ink pasta, pappardelle bolognese, and mushroom ravioli. They were all great!! But I must say we got the gnocchi with pesto side as an appy and it was one of the best ever. Very good service and friendly atmosphere. Bravo Basilico!

Came here for the first time for my wedding anniversary. Best Italian food in the neighborhood. Loved everything we ordered from the calamari, caesar's salad with anchovies, osso bucco with fettuccini, shrimp fra diavolo to dessert with chocolate tartufo, tiramisu and espresso. Nice ambiance and friendly staff. Will definitely come back here again

Have had this on the to-do list for some time - this restaurant has quite the reputation locally for being a fantastic dining experience.

Oysters were great as an app. Half bottles of wine are great for a date during a busy day.

I ordered a homemade pasta dish and loved every bite. My fiancee had a pasta special and also really enjoyed it.

Espresso was good. Tiramisu was good. Cake and iced cream was great.

Be ready to pay for the experience, but know it will be a fantastic one. Will certainly be back.

Beautiful restaurant. Food is delicious and the portions are actually filling so you don't leave hungry. The beef tartare is one of my favorites and the desserts are always amazing. They do a souffle flavor that changes every day and it's always good. The cheesecake is also noteworthy, flavorful but not too sweet.

I can't say enough about the place I was there twice in two weeks.Mario the owner makes you feel like you're in his own home. The food was impeccable, went the second time for Mother's Day, and even though it was very crowded, the service was excellent and the food choices exquisite. I had one of the seafood pasta specials with generous
portions of lobster and shrimp.

Going for the second time only confirmed my previous suspicion that this is the best Italian restaurant in Millburn. The tuna tartar was spectacular and the steak was cooked perfectly medium rare. Not to mention the presentation of the food is exquisite.

I must say that finally me and my family e had an outstanding authentic Italian food experience at Basilico. Grazie

Halibut was perfect. Artichoke an appetizer was superb. Love this restaurant
