Izumi Hibachi Steak House

I am so impressed by the staff at Izumi. I called to make sure they can make my food gluten free. They said yes, no problem. But when we got there they did not have any GF soy sauce. The manager immediately sent someone to the store to buy some. Then the food I had was so incredibly good. Everyone had a great time from the kids to the parents. We look forward to going back soon!

Akilll. Manager is awesome.. English, Spanish, Arabic, and anything else you speak. Aurora waitress cute lady from China works so hard to make sure you are happy.. even non. Hibachi.. the place is dated and needs upgrades but the service is next to none, it may take a moment for translation but they will make sure you are happy, like an Italian grandma

Great food and friendly staff at this NJ hibachi restaurant. Similar experience to most hibachi places but these guys definitely seem to like fire (see photos).

I haven’t been here in years and I’m so happy that everything is just as good as i remembered! Chef Blue was so much fun and did a great job celebrating my husbands birthday w us! The food is delicious and you get a lot for the price.. you won’t leave hungry or disappointed!

I have driven past this place at least 500 times and I am so glad I finally stopped in. The food was fantastic and the show the chefs make while cooking on the hibachi was fantastic. This is a great place to go for a birthday as it seems they really do a nice job. I have a severe shellfish allergy and one of our party had a gluten allergy and they were extremely accommodating to ensure our safety and also enjoyment. Good place to go. That's more local than other spots. And the ambiance inside was just made the whole experience more memorable.

We were looking for something different and we got it! In a restaurant you want quality, customer service and caring staff, this place has all of them!
The parking is tight I think they share with the motel next door, it never felt unsafe parking outside, the building from outside looks little rundown but inside is a different story, it’s very cozy and homey and spacious! As soon as you open the door you see a beautiful fountain, when you enter their is a bar and sitting area, the grills are all the way at the end of the building and they got plenty of them!

It was busy and all the tables were packed, but we had reservations so we got the table, it was very clean and spacious, all the staff was super friendly and helpful, I am vegetarian and they offered Tufo with vegetables, noodles and rice which was amazing, we really enjoyed the whole process and the chef was really fun! Overall I highly recommend this place to anyone!

Skip the expensive hibach benihanas and come here, you'll enjoy the savings and have the same high caliber experience with good quality ingredients. A fantastic place for kids, if they like loud atmospheres, especially if they contribute to the noise!

Probably the best hibachi in the area, and I've been to all of them. The staff is great and welcoming. The chefs are funny and very good at engaging the audience. They include the things you would expect: throwing veggies into your mouth, onion volcano and yelling Coca-Cola whenever they squirt soy sauce on stuff (always gets me). Drinks are strong and worth it. The biggest plus is the sushi. I would go there for the sushi alone. Parking is the only bad thing about this place. Price is reasonable. Overall I give Izumi Hibachi Steak House a 4.6 out of 5.

Tonight we held my husbands 40th birthday dinner. It was a surprise and went off without a hitch. Everyone from the hosts to the cooks to server to the Manager, everyone was so amazing. So helpful. And have such great customer service. They make you feel like family. We had a party of 30 people and they didn’t sweat it for even a second. I would strongly recommend this beautiful place. Oh, and the FOOD!!!!! EPIC.

Never have been to a restaurant like this one and I can say it was a great first experience. Everything was perfectly cook and tasted delicious and more importantly the place was clean and with a nice ambient.

Mother's Day Special combo menu.. "Harry the hibachi chef" - itamae (板前) was awesome and the food was delicious. Had a great experience last year, so we came back again this year!! Also - Aqeel the manager was pleasant and made sure the food and presentation was perfect... Thanks!

We had an amazing time! The food was DELICIOUS. I had the Jenny Boy Roll, I totally recommend it, it was so good. The restaurant itself is very cozy and the staff was so nice and friendly. The guy who made our food was hilarious! It was a really great experience. We are definitely coming back.

Izumi is a fun & exciting night out for a couple or a bunch! They are extremely friendly here & the chefs are always making their guests laugh. We grabbed a quick drink at the bar before being escorted to our table. Drinks, soup & salad are served right away. The ginger dressing is the BEST!! Everyone typically orders the hibachi dinner because that’s what is prepared right in front of you on the hot stove top. Fried rice, shrimp, noodles & your choice of chicken, steak, lobster ect are served. The food is delicious & I typically leave the place extremely full with left overs !! 🍗 🍤 🥩 everything is fresh and cooked to your liking. They definitely put on a great and memorable show. Regular flavored ice cream can be served ( I like the green tea ) BUT I highly suggest ordering the fried ice cream ! 🍦 it is AMAZING!!! Always an awesome night! Thank you

Been dying to try a new hibachi spot out since my favorite spot closed. Tried this place out tonight and the food was amazing the staff was on point making sure everything was okay. The chefs are funny. We got a ice tempura dessert and was delicious. Would definitely recommend.

Been going here for years and it's never gone down hill...most exciting chefs and a great staff...plus the Host is a character and always brings out a big laugh from me with his one liners

I've been to Hibachi dinners at Izumi's Japanese Steakhouse for about 25 years. We are faithful patrons and for good reason. The portions are generous. The taste is consistently good. My children actually eat izumi vegetables! The price is fair. We've celebrated graduations and birthdays. For a Christening, we occupied the side room and the sliders were shut for extra privacy. Just pick your protein for dinner. Your dinner is: custom protein, onion soup, salad, shrimp, vegetables, lomein, white rice, ice cream. Fried rice is available for an extra fee. To keep costs down, you can order a la carte which means you get clear soup (instead of onion) and no shrimp, no ice cream. You can go last minute with or without a reservation. This has been a saving feauture when out of town guests pop in. There is a wait on weekend nights. The chefs are entertaining. You will have leftovers to take home. I recommend Izumi Japanese Steakhouse on Rt 23, Wayne, NJ. Their hibachi is a great option whether it is just 2 of you or even if it is 20 of you.

I cannot say enough good things about this place. It is decorated beautifully, in the classic style of old school Japanese hibachi restaurants. We were seated quickly. The food was good, generous portions, and reasonable prices. Staff is very friendly. It is very easy to get to, right in rt 23 in Wayne.

We really enjoyed this place. Loved the decor throughout the restaurant. They did temperature check at the door. Everyone was happy and we had no issues. We had shrimp and the filet, I have to say the filet was the best I’ve had in awhile. Extremely tender and the added hibachi flavors put it over the top.

Don't be fooled by the scary hotel next door, this place is delicious! Go early to avoid the crowds. The prices are fair, service is fantastic, and the hibachi chefs put on an amazing show. Great for the whole family.
