The shrimp farfalle was one of the top 10 best meals I’ve had in my life. The sauce should be jarred and sold! Will, our waiter was a gem. Thank you for a great night!

Stop searching, you just found the best spot in town! No joke, we’ve been all over NJ eating at all kinds of great places, but Matta Donna is a HIDDEN GEM! Here’s what ya do: show up and don’t worry about parking, they are definitely busy but there’s plenty of room. Get seated super quick (because fast service of course). Get that perfect beverage, then go straight to the pizza menu and get the goat cheese and caramelized onion, large. Pick the most difficult to pronounce meat topping, add peppers, extra cheese, plus anything else you like. It’s going to be AMAZING. But the special seasoning is the service. The people here treat you like family. They will make sure your meal is perfect, and love to chat. You’ll have an awesome meal all around. Humble opinion: Nobody leaves as a stranger. Best service and dining by far!

Only downside: the red headed Irishman running an Italian joint doesn’t serve cannoli!

Came back again a year later JUST TO EAT HERE! this place rocks y’all. All those folks complaining about a price raise, y’all. Relax. It’s a few bucks. If that what it takes for the good service and good food, it’s worth every penny. These same folks complaining over a few bucks would gripe tenfold for bad service, so please relax.

Excellent food. Specials were all unique and fantastic. Attentive wait staff and atmosphere. Teriyaki calamari was a strike of brilliance! Good wines and atmosphere for a cozy Italian night out.

Great place to stop on our way through. Easy access to the Highway, friendly staff, good wine.

Great place for a nice Italian dinner. Have been going a decade+ with my family and friends. Really enjoy sitting at the bar and getting well poured drinks and excellent bar pies. This fam owned restaurant really makes you feel at home. Def check it out!

Bobby the bartender is amazing!!! Stopped in for an after dinner drink and ordered a White Russian. Not only did Bobby offer to make it in a pint glass he added a little panache to it (Frangelica) but I asked him about deserts and he recommended the carrot cake so I got it! It was amazing!!

What a great find, Zak and the staff were awesome and the food the absolute best!!!! Go to the bar and ask John what the best attire is🤣🤣

Friendly, sat at the bar, Gary was great, attentive and prompt with the next drink. The food was amazing, had the little neck clams in white wine followed by the filet mignon, highly recommend.

Service amazing, pasta delicious! I wasn't wowed over the calamari it was a bit thin and the sauce said peppers and I definitely didn't expect jalapeños at an Italian restaurant. But! The pasta! As a jersey native it's rare that I will eat pasta in my current state and always want to try when I am home. This was such a. Treat! Tagliatelle, marscapone cream, lemon, and lots of fresh arugula. Amazing! The service was helpful and sweet! Definitely recommend.

I've driven past this place for years, never Really paid much attention to it. Until someone I know said they really like it. So one night me and my girlfriend were going back and forth about where to go. We said let's go check in out, and now it's one of my favorite places to go. The food is great, And so is the staff.The owner Zach is a great guy Always stops by the table to check and make sure everything is okay.The bartender Bobby also makes an amazing cocktail.I would highly recommend you check out this place

Stopped in on the spur of the moment passing through the area. We had a terrific waiter, which always makes for a more pleasant evening. The food was good, although a bit expensive. The service was outstanding and the local low-key atmosphere was very appealing. I would definitely go back again. All-in-all a great evening! !

Food, Cocktails and Service were excellent, with a very fair pricing. We dined indoors, which was well spaced. It was quiet, and we enjoyed conversation easily with a table of 6. Will definitely return

What a wonderful place. We live in the same town and would drive by all the time and never stopped in. Finally went and found out we have been missing out on all these years. Everything from the service, to the food and wine was wonderful. We had the Claims casino and Sauteed shrimp for appetizers. The clams were tender and tasty and the sauce on the shrimp was delicious. For entries we had a couple of the pasta dishes (all very good) and the Lemon Sage Chicken (loved this). Can't wait to go back.

It is our "go to" local restaurant. Delicious bread, a great wine selection at decent prices, and no one has ever been disappointed in any menu item. I had lamb chops from their special menu last night and it was perfectly cooked and delicious!

This place is great. The menu doesn't change a lot but if there is something u like it will always be available. Also the specials are always great and I usually order something from that menu. Get the meats and cheeses appetizer to start!

Carmalized onion goat cheese pie is one of my favorite pizzas and is only served at Matta Donna. Great friendly and helpful staff. Family owned business with a great attitude. Always love the food when we eat here.

Charming Maitre'd and wait staff. Delicious! Reasonable! Tempted by the Salmon, loved the Rigatoni. Will definitely return with the whole family.

The food was excellent and the service, unparalleled. The staff are all friendly, welcoming, and personable and they have a knack for making new customers feel like family. Jake, Amanda, and Zack are all especially lovely!
