Hunan Oshaka

Good place for a late lunch (3-3.30 PM) on a snowy day. We ordered three items: 1 portion of crab rangoon, 2 veg spring rolls and 1 portion of Ma Po Tofu. Good portion size- we had some Tofu left over. Sections solely dedicated to vegetarian options helped a lot. The service was great too- warm and kind. 10/10 recommend.

This is a classic small-town Chinese restaurant, owned and run by a hardworking Chinese family for years. The menu has expanded to Japanese and hibachi; we typically share Chinese dishes like crispy sesame chicken, beef with broccoli and low mein, all with generous portions and nicely prepared and presented by people who feel like our family. You don’t come to a restaurant here expecting New York Chinatown, this one has the 1932 Olympic oval right across the street and is perfect for a bite after skating on a frosty night. Highly recommend.

Big variety of Japanese and Chinese dishes as well as a sizable sushi menu. They are good with COVID protocols and take your temperature upon arrival and the tables are spaced out for social distancing with limited capacity. I ordered the Tofu hot pot and it was amazing. I've never had house made tofu before and it was seasoned beautifully and full of flavor. Wait staff was very accommodating and friendly. Would recommend!

My boyfriend and I went here last night on our trip to lake placid. The server was very nice and the food was delicious! We tried sushi and also 2 Chinese dishes and appetizers and it was all wonderful. The price was good and the restaurant itself had a very pleasant atmosphere with the decor and music, we will definitely return when in lake placid again!!

I tried a new dish!! Kim (owner) suggested it! And I love!! I couldn't take a picture of it because I was so excited!! Maybe next time! We met with other parents who got a kid and they were awesome. ❤ beautiful experience. It was a quiet place. It was just perfect! And of course food was great!!

My family and I were very happy with the service and our food (we ordered sushi, Kung Pao, and another Chinese dish) and the service was excellent! Whenever we come to Lake Placid in the future, this will be a "must" for us!

By far an absolute must stop in Lake Placid. The BEST Asian food I have ever had! Will make another trip just to eat there again!

I tried a few sushi rolls with my friends and found it delicious. The price was alright and the rolls looked great. I would definitely come again the next time.

Wow, as good as you can get. The authentic traditional Chinese cuisine and Japanese sushi, which is Asia combination. Appearance is very fancy, but it is very reasonably priced.

We love Hunan Oshaka and look forward to going there soon. The food is terrific and we sure count the family and staff as friends.
