Origin Coffee Co. (Lake Placid, NY)

Origin was a great experience! We loved their decor, and the drinks we had were amazing. I had both their Guatemala Acantenango Gesha (medium roast) as a pour over and their Mediterranean Fog (a different take on the traditional London fog). I could pick out the tasting notes that they listed with ease, my favorite being the stone fruit notes. It was a perfectly executed pour over. The Mediterranean Fog was spicy and fruity, with an orange piece floated on top. It is warm and comfy like a wassail, a perfect winter drink. My partner had a mocha with mint syrup added, which was delightfully sweet and indulgent without feeling heavy and overly sweet like a milkshake. We didn't try their food, but the menu was enticing and we would have if we hadn't already eaten. The seating was plenty, but my only critique would be to add some different levels of seating and some armchairs/sofas for longer lounging. Most of the seating was on metal chairs and bar level.

Best coffee shop in lake placid hands down ! Coffee is fresh, great variety and options. Owner and manager are there daily and are involved so the place is up kept well , including customer service. You just taste the quality in all their drinks.

Plus the vibe is very chill and relaxed. Enough space to sit and relax in the morning. Didn’t order any food but noticed the plates around me that others ordered and looks very delicious and hearty.

Cute coffee shop with good drinks (and fun seasonal options), friendly staff, and delicious food! We stopped for lunch and ordered the Candied Butternut Cappuccino, vegan sausage panini, and ham & cheddar panini - all were delicious!!

Stopped by on a whim while on vacation. Got the matcha with oat milk and honey. Absolutely delicious! Tried the buttermilk biscuit just was I was craving. My boyfriend got the breakfast burrito and loved it. Would highly recommend.

Very nice place. Coffee is good and flavorful. Breakfast food was delicious. The avocado sandwich was very flavorful and well done. Would definitely come back again!

Came here after church on a Sunday morning. Ordered a chai tea and a Sweater Weather Latte! The staff were so friendly and the place is absolutely adorable! We loved the drinks and found the prices comparable to other coffee shops in the area. Would definitely come back again!

My husband and I were visiting the area and decided to pop in for coffee. No parking lot but we were lucky to get a spot right out front. The counter and tables were pretty full but there was no wait because they seem super efficient. I tried the maple latte and my husband had 1 of their teas. They were tasty, the prices were reasonable and the baristas were friendly. Will definitely go back if I’m in the area again!

I came here twice while I was in town because it was so cute and the baristas were fantastic. It was also very great that they allowed me to take my dog inside to order, and they also offered him a treat. The latte I ordered was great as well, but the atmosphere sells it the most.

Glad to find a third wave coffee shop in Lake Placid. The baristas were very welcoming and savory croissants were delicious. Maybe the ratio of milk and espresso shot could be lower for a cappuccino;)

My wife and I were looking for some hot chocolate and we saw a review that was praising the hot chocolate.
I truly underestimated how good hot chocolate can really get. This was great to have after ice skating

Really tasty cappuccino (and Chai latte!) and the grilled cheese panini was delicious. A fun atmosphere inside - loved all the plants! 🌱

Loved everything! The sweater weather iced latte was so tasty. We also ordered the avocado toast and breakfast burrito. Highly recommend the burrito

This place was absolute perfection. The baristas were super friendly and completely enjoyable company. The atmosphere (which I think could benefit from a cute tufted leather couch and coffee table by the window) was still beautiful. I felt so at peace with the plants and the amazing music (which was all thanks to Sasha's amazing voice and musical creation). If you find yourself at a loss for where to go, I would highly recommend Origin Coffee. We drank the Rose Cardamom Latte and Thyme Honey Latte which were both spectacular. We also ate one of their amazing cinnamon rolls as well as ricotta toast with strawberries. All around 10 out of 10 experience and will definitely be returning multiple times in my trip.

I went a couple of times and I always asked for something different. every time I ate tasty food and drank delicious drinks. The baristas are super friendly and the energy of the place is warm. I will come back as many times as I can

Wow! Amazing fresh sandwiches, breakfast burritos, Avacado toast and freshly brewed coffee. Pricey but worth every penny! Love it! Among the Best coffee places, I have ever been to.

We love this company. Had been to the Saranac location a few times and were excited to find the Lake Placid location. I’m gluten, egg, and dairy free, so it’s great to have a place with food options for me in the morning. Beautiful shop, but a little low on table seating; it’s mostly counter and high stools.

Great place for a gluten free sandwiches. I had a Sweater Weather (decaf) latte and it was fantastic!

Had a relaxing, delicious lunch. Highly recommend the sweater weather latte! We will be back!
