Purple Saige Bistro

Lovely vibes and the server Mark was delightful. An excellent addition to my romantic Christmas weekend with my husband. The price isn’t cheap but I feel the food/price/dining was very on-par with other small, unique fine-dining restaurants Ive frequented on vacation.
We walked from a near-by hotel which was convenient as well.

Great little spot. The escargot is a MUST. Had a few appetizers and a glass of wine. The French onion soup was also delicious. Suzanne was awesome and very friendly. Definitely recommend for those who are visiting for a little classier happy hour/dinner option.

Coming from the city, I’m spoiled with great food on every corner. Unfortunately for Lake Placid, all the restaurants on Mirror Lake have been disappointing. We drove past this place a few days during our time here and it was the best meal I have had in a while. The food was well seasoned and garnished, the meat was juicy and well-cooked, and the sides were amazing. Staff is extremely accommodating to dietary restrictions and the food was overall solid. Don’t waste your time or money for a view, walk down a little further for a better meal.

A wonderful dinner from start to finish ! Take a look at the menu before going as you might take forever to decide what to order. We were on our second cocktail before we could commit because every dish looked delicious ! The Bistro is intimate and the tables are well spaced . There is outdoor seating as well. Our conversation through dinner was full of raves on how delicious everything was -Purple Sage will be our top go to special place. ❤

Amazing!!! I was lucky enough to try their menu for the new mexican/Spanish style restaurant they will open soon. The street corn was so delicious and they pull it off the Cobb for you!!

Excellent! This place reminds me of a Fabulous French cafe. I loved the atmosphere! It’s small and cozy so definitely make a reservation (especially during Covid times). Our table was ready right away which during this times isn’t always the case. From the minute we sat down the owner (who was also our server) was so friendly and welcoming! We loved the escargot and the steak frites! The flourless chocolate cake was delicious! Thank you so much for making my husband’s milestone birthday extra special! We look forward to when we can return!

This restaurant is 5 stars! The food is divine!!!! The ambiance is quite romantic. The service is outstanding! I don’t know how this place isn’t rated higher, we’ve been here a handful of times and it’s always perfect. The chef takes pride in what he puts out! We will be returning soon! The only thing I can say is they don’t have high chairs, but seriously if u can leave the kids at home

Purple is a magical color and this is a magical place. The atmosphere exudes creativity and care, the people are excellent, and the food is an expression of all of the above.

Chef Rob, and his wife Suzanne and their son are the perfect hosts and the food is exquisite. Excellent service and an atmosphere that is beautiful and relaxing. A perfect place for a romantic dinner or a comforting, relaxed meal with your family. I’m a local who has lived here for many years and the food and wine is second to none. Lake Placid is fortunate to have this talented family and sophisticated chef in our community. You will not be disappointed!

So delicious! My girls took me here for dinner during my Bachelorette weekend and the food was incredible! Really nice staff and loved the vibe inside! Highly recommend for date night or just a night out for any group!

This place is legit! I started with the jumbo shrimp cocktail , biggest shrimp I’ve seen in my life. My husband started with the muscles , so fresh and the sauce was so unique and delicious. Fir my entree I had the salmon over lentils , the salmon was cooked to perfections and the dish was beautifully seasoned. My husband had the Cacio e Pepe with scallops, the seafood at this place is on point , another amazing dish. Everyone was so kind, the atmosphere is very quaint and romantic.

Best meal on Main Street! My husband and I happened to go to Purple Saige at our last night in Lake Placid and we wish it was our first! Happened to be one of two tables (it was closer to the end of the night) and we had great conversation with owners as well as great meals. We had calmari salad and new York strip steak. Due to the false alarm fire next door our steak was slightly overdone but still delicious. Dessert was my favorite! Can't go wrong with this place. 100% better than any large restaurant in Lake Placid!

The food was top-notch probably the best steak I've ever had. If you like margaritas.... delicious. Pricey but well worth it!!

We went for Tuesday night tapas. Food was great. Bacon-wrapped dates with almonds and blue cheese, endive salad, pasta and truly delicious halibut. Some of the best food I’ve had in Lake Placid, especially along the main street. Worth the money plus great service and atmosphere.

Food and drinks were amazing. Staff was friendly and personable. We went to celebrate our 10th anniversary and they gave use dessert on the house. We had a fun time interacting with the staff and other customers all night. I would recommend this place a as must if you are in Lake Placid.

Walked in for a late dinner, did not have a reservation but given we arrived at 8.30 pm, they were able to seat us. Quaint restaurant, very comfy and appropriate decor, reminded me on true European bistros. Short but very creative menu. I appreciate short menus as chances are the chef can get solid dishes out sooner, with fresh ingredients. We had the escargot (stellar! With puff pastry on top), steak and frites (massive portion, probably enough for 2, and prepared perfectly), calamari, and one of the salads (can’t remember the name but it was a proper sald). The waiter working the front was very pleasant and accommodating.

Truly a gem. We have had French cuisine in Paris, Montreal and New York. This restaurant is not just equal, it’s actually better. My husband and I were delighted with everything we had. Highly, highly recommend this bistro to anyone visiting Lake Placid. Also I have to add, the owner Suzanne is a sweetheart.
