If you love Peking Duck this is the place for you. Made reservations to come here for a date night with my wife and from the drink to the dessert we were not disappointed. The menu is filled with great selection of items. Presentation was top class with every plate dressed nicely. The food was delicate and flavorful. The duck was the best we have had. Perfect skin with tender meat. The buns they use a super flat so the flavor is of the duck itself not a cake style bun. It is accompanied by varied sauces all were fabulous. Would go here again any time.

Best. Peking duck. Ever. It's not cheap, but oh so good! Very tiny restaurant with a communal table. We couldn't get reservations but made a point to get there before they opened so we could sit at a bar and get a duck. We highly recommend doing that. If you reserve seats, you'll sit at the communal table. If you reserve 5+ seats you're guaranteed 2 ducks, under 5 guarantees 1. If you can't get a reservation, do what we did and get there before they open so you can get a duck. If you show up later, you might be SOL! They have a sister restaurant upstairs.

One of the best Peking Duck places in the city. Definitely need to make reservations for larger groups, but there were only two of us so we got there early and got seats at the bar. If you show up later, it might be good to reserve a duck. We also got the oxtail dumplings and the truffle fried rice. The oxtail dumplings were extremely delicious and worth it. The truffle fried rice was good but probably not worth $28.

Best Peking duck in New York City! Their prix fixe portion are big and delicious over all. The fried rice and marinated beef tenderloin is awesome!
Definitely worth going again. Be sure to reserve it early especially if you have a big party as there are very limited seats inside.
The duck skin is crispy and the meat just as fatty as you want to be, the wheat wrap is chewy and the sauce is authentic. I would recommend takeout if you’re just into peaking duck.

I love this place! It’s a tiny little place with extremely crowded setting, and you have to book your reservation ahead of time as it is really popular. Been there three times and yesterday we went in a group of four. We ordered the pre-fixed dinner with some cocktails.
As for dinner we got four sides, two mains, once rice to choose from apart from the standard Peking duck.
First round of starters are some appetizers, including fried fish skin and some small-sized vegetables. The cauliflower, kimchi cucumber, curry potatoes, mangoes and peppers are good but I don’t like their Chinese broccoli.
As for the small plates, we ordered noodle with uni, bbq beef, bbq duck and Lichi and the shrimp dumplings. Personally I love all but uni since I don’t like raw food. My friends like everything.
Then the Peking duck is served. No complaint about the duck itself. And I like their Husain and sweet sauces. However, the portion is the same for a group of 4 or 3, and you only got 10 skins regardless of group size. This doesn’t make much sense to me as I feel that for a Peking duck prefix, if you charge each person the same amount the Peking duck itself should be served proportional to the number of people. So it doesn’t worth that much if you go in as a mid-sized or large group to order the pre-fix.
For the main, we had ribs and the sea bass. We also had the scallops and crab fried rice. Their sea bass was served in a clay pot last time but was on a normal plate today, and it tasted a little bit different - Last time more saucy and juicy, which I enjoyed more. The scallops were not very fresh today, but the ribs were excellent.
The three cocktails we got were good, no complaints. And the service is good as usual.
It totals up to $120 each includes everything. Pricey for what you got but definitely good amount of food plus high quality dishes.

Decoy is fun. You arrive and move downstairs to be greeted by a staff that seem both genuinely happy to be there and enthusiastic about their food and beverage offerings. As the name Decoy Bar implies, those looking for a cocktail will be happy, an energetic and friendly bartender will see to your needs. The wine drinkers might do well to chose a bottle of the well priced brut rose champagne on offer, which suited the food very well. As to food, if you can come with at least a group of four and make a reservation so that you will be assured a peking duck dinner, at $75 a person, which is a wicked deal. We were happily surprised to learn that this deal allowed us to order several starters, mains other than the duck and a rice and vegetable dish.. If you do not come hungry you will never finish all this, so skip lunch. Before what you've ordered arrives, several small dishes will hit the table, each a treat and when your meals rolls out, every dish will impress. The peking duck itself is truly special, better than the best versions we've enjoyed at wonderful places. Share everything, because everything is wonderful and have fun, because that's what happens here.

The food was chef kiss. I had a cocktail with tequila which was smooth and nice. Most importantly the staff was super friendly and attentive. I already made a reservation to come back in 2 weeks time!

Decoy is a small small place underneath Red Farm with one communal table and spots at the bar. I got there and they were out of their famous Peking Duck unfortunately, but I ordered Sichuan dumplings and duck noodles and sauteed pea sprouts. The three dishes were all delicious! Service at the bar was pretty good. This is pricey but worth it for a splurge on fancy but quite good Chinese food.

When I found out that my husband had never had Peking Duck, I had to get him to have one. I have had really good Peking duck, and and then not-so-great Peking duck, and those were such huge difference that I knew that I had to take him to a really good place. After my research, I decided on Decoy, since it was said as one of the best place to have Peking duck. I quickly made reservation.

The inside is rather small. Most of the seating here is a long communal table. This could be a bit awkward if you are not used to sitting next to a stranger. Also, depends on where you are sitting, it takes long time to get in and out, making it difficult just getting to the bathroom.

Right by the entry door, there were two separate nooks with seating on each side. One side is a counter seats for three people. On the other side is a private table for two people. For some awesome luck, we got to have the private table for two!!! We were so happy… Good things happens to good people!

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly by the manager, Craig. He took us to our nice private table, and once learned that this was our first time visiting Decoy, he took time to explain their menu to us. Super nice! When our waitress came over, she also explained the menu to us, they are all really nice here. The prix fixe Peking Duck menu comes with Homemade Pickles, Decoy Chips, Duck Consommé Shots, 10 Pancakes, 3 sauces, choice of small plates, and choice of fried rice or veggie side. The portion of each items are adjusted depending on your party size so that everyone gets good amount of food. As for duck itself, they provide 1 duck per party of 5 or less. So, basically, the less friends you bring, the more duck you will have… LOL

One thing I have to mention is their bathroom. I waited for a quite a while, almost made me wonder if there is really someone in the restroom, or if the door nob is broken??? After a while, a young female came out, almost running away. When I got inside, I realized that she was running away from her shame…she obviously could not figure out how to flush the high tech toilet!!! LOL! She could at least warn me and said “I am sorry, I couldn’t flush it…” So, they have this super cool Japanese toilet, TOTO. The control panel was installed on top of the toilet paper holder, and there you find the button function for “flush.” Maybe the restaurant should put out an instructional sign that indicates how to flush the toilet.

Ok, done with the toilet part. As I mentioned, the staffs here are very efficient, friendly, and they know their stuff. Our waitress was really nice too. Our water was filled, dirty dishes picked up quickly, and clean plates delivered without asking for it. The manager, Craig does a great job looking over the entire restaurant, constantly walking around, making sure everyone was happy. We certainly were super happy!

As this is a small restaurant, they do take the reservation very seriously. Once you make the reservation, the commitment to the duck feast needs to be given to the restaurant in a form of your credit card information. If you decide not to show up, they will charge you a penalty fee. They will also ask you to confirm the reservation either by email or phone. If you do not confirm your reservation by 4pm on the day of your reservation, they might not hold your seat. It might sound like an extra stress, but nowadays, many other restaurants call you a day before to confirm your reservation also. And most of all, it is totally worth the extra time and attention at Decoy! Read my full review of the restaurant and food on my food blog, foodlovergirl.

Pretty good! The duck was really tasty, although the pancakes were different from what they usually give you and the sauce was not flavorful enough. It is also pretty pricy. Still, delicious duck.

Decoy has the best Chinese-roasted duck in NYC, period. The duck meat is beautifully sliced with crispy skins and a thin layer of fat. It went very well with either of the three sauces provided (but my favorite was the cranberry sauce).

The 2 small dishes that came with the prix fixe were so creative. One is traditional Chinese shrimp dumplings with a twist (not sure what the crispy part is, but Truffle was a genius pairing), and the other one is delicious fresh oyster served with Yuzu ice. How clever!

Will definitely come back with friends!

This is by far the best Perking Duck in NYC. We also have many of their “snacks” and all of them was delicious. Some of their snacks were even better than the Duck.

Peking duck is a must order!! The crispy skin and meat combined so beautifully, the paired sauce also show chefs did extra homework to bring back the original flavor of the dish. gonna visit again

Reservations are required. They only sell 20-25 ducks per day so when you made reservations don’t forgets to reserve your peking duck

Innovative and authentic Chinese cuisine. I've been eating Chinese food for over 20 years and am recently looking for something new. This place didn't disappoint me. Every course was nearly perfect.

The appetizer set, including fresh mango, and Korean-style broccoli and pickled cucumbers, offered a light and delighting flavor. The beef had a great portion of fat, producing a melt-in-your-mouth, tender and flavorful taste. I've never heard or had fish bone/skin (?) chips before, but this one was astonishingly good with the dipping sause. So were the rest of the dishes.

Of course, there were some improvements that could be made. First, we made a reservation but were surprised to find out there weren't a table for 2 for us. Every group has to share a long table. I wish we could have more space and more privacy (we had to unintentionally listen to the whole conversation from other customers…). Second, please consider using reusable chopsticks. Last, it seems the portion size of the fried rice was obviously too much for a party of two. The whole dinner included 2 small plates, 1 Peking duck and 1 rice.

We have eaten Peking Duck in some of the best restaurants in Hong Kong and this was one of the best ducks and experiences we have had. The ambience was wonderful and Shay, our bartender and waitress was incredible. It made for a perfect evening!

Super super expensive, but an amazing experience for a special occasion. The duck was authentic and the small dishes were very well done. Make sure to get a reservation, as the place is very cozy.
