As you walk in, you are greeted with the most wonderful smells of pastries and chocolate. I know they are known for their babka and after seeing the fresh baked babka loaves in person, I can see why. They looked heavenly and smelled amazing. I told the owner I'll take a nice sized chunk and figured the old measuring with the fingers to describe my preference worked. I ended up with about a 3/4 lb chunk of babka that will last me for at least 2 days. They also price this by the weight and my piece was around $10 which I think is pretty reasonable!

The owner was also super friendly, and even gave me a small piece of the babka trim off the piece I bought on the house, which was the best little slice of babka I have ever had! It's pretty rich in a good way so I didn't even start to tackle the piece of babka I bought until later in the day. You get the ooey gooey chocolate mixed with the softness of the bread which makes for such a delicious experience. It would probably also go really well with a glass of milk! They had a bunch of different other baked goods I wish I would've tried but maybe next time! The city is lucky to have a spot like this, and I appreciate that the owner is also involved as it makes it feel more authentic and genuine.

Seriously best chocolate babka ever! Just look at the layers! Very pleasant experience, the cost is by weight and you can ask them to get you a piece for the price you want to pay. The one I got was around $37, but you are getting the quality, this piece was much heavier than it looks. Must try!

TOP TIER BABKA! Once you have this babka, every other babka you eat going forward will not be able to compare. The texture is dense and thick and perfectly flavorful with every bite. It’s absolutely exceptional and I highly recommend!!

One of the best babkas out there. You pay by weight and he lets you pick out the one you like. The chocolate babka is decadent and hefty. The babka is very traditional but is perfect. The rugelach are also fantastic. They were just pulling out warm cinnamon rugelach when I arrived; they were to die for. It may be intimidating to shop here as the shopkeeper speaks some broken English, but you get the full experience of shopping in a Satmar neighborhood staple. It's probably best to bring cash. I will be back.

Hands down the best bubka I have ever had! It is everything a bubka should be for those who love a high ratio of chocolate.

Friendly person at the bakery. It was our first time at a Jewish bakery and their recommendations were amazing. Babka and Challah bread were fresh and tasty.

Amazing bakery with homemade and freshly made sweets. It's tiny but they have loads of things. They charge you by weight. The man who served us was lovely. One of our favorite sweets we tried in New York was from here, but sadly we don't know the name of it!

Was given the double chocolate babka from a friend who knows I love babka. Dare I say too much chocolate lol but delicious nonetheless

Ordered a Babka on Goldbelly and ordered the largest one they had. My roommates and neighbors and coworkers have been excitedly eating on it like crazy. It’s so good.

Pilgrimage to Oneg on our way home to Stockholm. Bought $40 worth of babka - which shocked us in the moment - but now wishing we bought $40 more. Proprietor gave my 17-year old son a lovely rainbow sprinkled cookie - so charming! We will be there next time and every time we visit NYC. The chocolate snail pastries were also delicious but the babka is otherworldly.
