Smuggler's Cafe

We have been coming here for years during late spring through early fall to sit outside on their covered patio and enjoy the food and views. Always a good meal and wonderful service. Highly recommend.

This restaurant is worth a visit if you are in the area. The restaurant was very well decorated, the menu was clever, and the atmosphere gave off a local vibe. Our waitress was kind, friendly, and helpful. One area of improvement for the restaurant is to deliver food quicker because it felt like it was a while before our food came out, but the food was worth the wait. My Caesar salad was great with good croutons and good chicken. My mother had a pesto shrimp salad and continued to rave about it all the car ride home. It was, “very very good”. The best part of all is that we payed less than $10 per person making fantastic value for the money.

Clean restrooms were available. The waitress said that opening time of the restaurant can change a little bit but is generally open by 11 am. The kitchen goes from 10am to 10pm and the bar goes to midnight.

The food was surprisingly good in a good way. In fact, it was spectacular!! I don't know why I don't think of this place more often as a regular great place to eat. Atmosphere is good. Only minor complaint is had to wait maybe 5 to 10 minutes too long for our food, but definitely worth the wait!!

Nice spot to eat on our travels. Unexpected option of cauliflower crust for a pizza, which made this gluten-free gal happy. Hubby had a tuna wrap, and we shared fries in garlic and oil which were cooked well (not soggy). For a random place to eat- very happy!

A real jewel on our road trip in Canada and the US and our first port of call coming back into the US. I wish this was my local bar/diner. So much choice of food a tap beers. Great service and real value for money.

Obviously a popular spot. Was hoping for better air conditioning on a hot day, but it was okay. Seemed cooler after the crowd thinned out. Only two toilets (one men / one women) is insufficient for such a busy restaurant. Could be unisex restrooms.

This must be a hidden gem. Not crowded, excellent food. Down by the rivah. Adding this to my favorites.

Had the Beef on Weck outstanding. The onion rings were yummy too.

The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. The food was really good. My salad was all fresh (something I have come to never take for granted). The turkey club sandwich was great and filling. The panini was good, also the onion rings. The only downside of the panini was that it was on plain white bread instead of panini bread. We also appreciated the historical information on the menu. That was interesting to read!

Excellent place to take the family out to dinner. Very affordable.

Food was delicious and plentiful! Fried mushrooms not at all greasy and the shrimp. Avocado Cesar salad was amazing!

Stopped here on a whim and was not disappointed! Food was absolutely delicious, the service was fantastic, and the atmosphere was perfect. We will definitely come here again when we are in town!

Our first time at Smuggler's and I hope it won't be our last. There were 3 of us on a busy Saturday night. The patio across the street was open, but it was full, so we sat inside. Our waitress was very nice, greeted us with a smile. She took our orders and brought our drinks right over. Because it was a busy Saturday night, we did have to wait a bit for our meals, But I don't think it was "overly" long. Just sit back, relax enjoy the company you are with or the river views and before you know it, your meals with be served. We all enjoyed our meals, none of us walked away from table hungry. In fact 2 of us did bring part of our meal with us. Next time I will take pictures. If you like soup, get some. They had Cheddar broccoli when we were there is was fantastic !

Great spot. Would have never found the place without a Google search for local restaurants and following directions to get there but I was glad I did. Had a burger and poutine. Poutine was great. Bathroom was clean and there was a friendly atmosphere. Will stop again next time I'm in Ogdensburg for lunch.

Alcoholic slushies are often available in 2 varying flavors and they have some of the best soups around.
A great selection of craft beers available as well.

Went on a random Tuesday with 4 and there was plenty of seating available.

The menu has plenty to choose from and they have several specials a day.

I had the cheese steak and fried with butter/garlic sauce. It was delicious!!! The fries were all hand cut and ahhh, so good! The sandwich was also delicious. Everyone at the table seemed to enjoy their meal.

Everything seemed reasonably priced, too. My sandwich was $10 and was super filling.

Definitely recommend this place and I'll absolutely go back!
