Smith Cemetery State Nature Preserve

Small but so nice and quiet out in the country! Definitely a fantastic spot for some nature photos. Always impresses me how many birds and little animals call it home.

This is an incredible pioneer cemetery situated in an active farm field near Plain City, Ohio. While small, it is a historically significant locataion.

We found this little cemetery and prairie by accident! The stories of the tombstones are quite poignant and we are looking forward to coming back during the summer to see the beautiful prairie

Follow map on site. Address takes you to wrong place on Boyd. I parked off gravel. Tiny little perserve but amazing to see grasses and flowers. Lots of birds and bugs.

One of the very rare patches of virgin prarie that have never been farmed. In late summer it really shines with native plants in flower and plenty insects visiting the plants.
The cemetery adds a neat historical element too.

Interesting spot to walk through. It's small, but fun to see the ancient gravestones and all the native flowers.

A small pioneer cemetery which also serves as a prairie wildflower seed bank. Visit in summer months (especially July) to enjoy the native blooms. Visit in winter months to view the grave monuments.

Small cemetery in the middle of no where. Although the vegetation is wild and tall, there are paths cleared so that you can walk up to and see most of the stones. Very peaceful

Nice and peaceful. A little too early for many plants to be up yet. Would love to stop back in high summer.
