So glad I stopped in today.. such a lovely place filled with such beautiful crafts. Each and every art piece was so uniquely made. Gives a great opportunity to shop local and support the community.

One of my favorite places when I lived in Columbus decades ago. So happy to see it is still open. Great for shoppers, great for crafters and seniors. Good job Columbus.

Warm inviting entrance. Lovingly made Home goods made only by seniors for anyone to buy. Gorgeous cutting boards, jewelry, cards, oven mits, afghans, quilts, tolle painting, acrylic an oil paintings, and so much more!

Love supporting the senior citizens. We got some very nice buys. Picked up some nice Christmas gifts. We've been there on several occasions I believe this visit was the lights of German Village. Very nice events since it was a beautiful evening this past Christmas.

While researching the area for unique shopping, my wife wanted to stop in here' We found that local artisans used their talents to create artwork in many medias. including paintings, crafts, quilts, home décor and much more. A must see for the person who appreciates quality artisan talents.

Happened to be walking past and walked in thinking this was a hobby shop. There was a volunteer who explained the shop as we walked in- Ohio seniors hand make all of the items themselves and set their own prices. I can’t believe the selection! Typical crafts such as quilts and scarves, but lots of other hand made items as well! We bought socks and a crochet Pokémon- so unique I would’ve never expected to see something like that there. Very reasonably priced, a really cool shop I would recommend for everyone. Even my husband enjoyed shopping there.

Love looking at all the different things for sale. Lots of items all hand made.

Cannot believe this is still here. My mother used to take me there as a kid. One of the toys I got there my daughter now plays with. That’s how well made it was. It is a little duck on a wooden pole that you push around and the feet flap as you push it.

Nice selection of hand made items at reasonable prices. The building was originally a schoolhouse.

Park in spots not reserved at east of bldg. Entrance is on north side. Several rooms plus upstairs (still have to explore that area). Fun, cute, attractive, creative, useful handmade buys for gifts or self.

Years ago my wife and I made regular trips between Missouri/Illinois and the east coast. One of our favorite stops along the way was German Village in Columbus, Ohio. We always spent a few hours to explore the Golden Hobby Shop, and the Book Loft. We always ended up with large bags of hand crafted items and books both for ourselves and as gifts for family and friends. Our trips were usually in the summer and we would stop on both directions of our trip. The people of the Golden Hobby Shop were always friendly and helpful. We learned about much of the history of German Village as well as the stories behind the hand crafted items, and the old stone 8 room schoolhouse that is now the home of the Golden Hobby Shop. Anyone that visits or is passing thru Columbus, Ohio should not miss it.
