Base Camp Café

I ate here as part of a larger group. This restaurant was continuously busy. The restaurant staff kept the flow going and the food coming out. Our food was slower coming because it all came out at one time and we had a larger group. But, the food was good. The restaurant is clean, and well maintained.

Little pricey just like in any zoo but good place to eat and enjoy

First thought it was a little pricey, $10 for 2 chicken tenders and some fries?? But when we got the food the chicken was huge and so juicy and the fries were stacked and fresh! My mom and I were really glad that we decided at the beginning to split one order.

Very nice and seemingly happy staff! The chicken tenders were HUGE!!! I should have split the plate with someone. They dont have ranch though :,(
They are a Pepsi place.
Incredibly cool how green they are! Rated with the lowest carbon footprint (or something like that)

Went here for lunch. I was impressed with the selection of food available. They had burgers, chicken sandwiches, pizza, salads and a black bean veggie burger too. They had several other options on a cold bar such as yogurt, jello and fruit. They had coffee, tea, soda and beers to choose from. We ended up splitting a whole pizza. It only took about 5 minutes to get the food. It was hot and fresh and delicious. Plus got a discount with my season pass. Prices on average were $7 to $8 per person. Will definitely be going back.

The place is huge with plenty of seating. Lots of food choices including healthy eating options. They even have gluten free meals. Sandwiches, pizza, soups, burgers, hot entrees. Desserts, lots of veggies available.

Ordering was easy, food was hot and deleious. I almost got a salad as they looked enticing. Air conditioned in the summer and heated and heated in the winter. It was the perfect place to seat and eat.

They have a huge deck with lots of seating much of it in the shade or covered . We are inside and enjoyed looking out all the windows.

The food was reasonably priced. The drinks were on the high price side. We choose just to drink bottled water.

The food is really good here and the staff is exceptional. The staff is always very polite and they always welcome you with open arms. The atmosphere is really nice it makes you feel like you're in a safari and just taking a break while you're eating.

Great food. Very large portions and decent price. I bought 2, 3 piece tender meals and split it with my 3 kids and my self. We all were stuffed!! Best part was I only spent $20.

We love to eat here when we go to the zoo. It has tons of seating and our food has always been hot. It's pricy but pass holders get a discount. The burger is big and so are the chicken tenders. We even eat here when we pack lunches. It's right next to the bathroom with the nursing nest, so that's always convenient. They offer pizza along with other different kinds of sandwiches.

I went here and a friend told me to get a free soda by just asking for a small cup. On top of that I had 0.07 cents and I went to ask for like 5 fries. One of the employees hooked me up with SEVEN CENT FRIES. A whole platter for seven cents. Plus as I was writing this we got a free pizza. Hands down best service ever.

The food's pretty good here for the being at the Zoo. I only had the burger and fries but those were pretty good the fries weren't greasy.

The fries are some of the best I have ever had!! Perfectly cooked and very tasty. And we saw a squirrel enjoying one on the deck too😁

Delicious food, nice staff. The temperature in the location could be turned up a few degrees (food got cold before we got done eating) Award on the walls states this location is the "Greenest restaurant in the US"...

The food was great! They didn’t have any ice for the drinks though, which was a bummer when it’s 98 degrees outside.

Amazing food, not horrible prices for a zoo, and they were able to accommodate our food sensitivities with ease

Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Gardens is a top destination spot in Cincinnati. Base Camp Cafe is just one place in the zoo to stop and get something to eat. It has indoor and outdoor seating. From the outside deck, you can observe the African Safari exhibit with gazelles, ostriches, and kudos.

Ivy Mann is an exceptional lady working the skyline concession. She was great taking our order and making sure it was prepared correctly. But what makes her a stand out is she talked with my granddaughter Katrina and made her feel so special. They discussed names for Ivy's baby if it was a boy. Lol, Katrina said, "Ginger"!
Ivy laughed and told her that his first name could be Ginger, middle name Bread and last name Mann. Hahaha
BTW - the food was delicious on a cold drizzling night.
The team at the base camp were very kind as was everyone we encountered.

One of the better options for food we've had at any zoo in the US. Prices aren't bad either.
