Aurora Sunny Lake Park

Beautiful park especially around the water. Mostly flat with paved trails that are well used by strollers, joggers and hikers.

A stunningly beautiful park for walking and relaxing. A very beautiful lake and a promenade around it. There are many picnic areas, benches, playgrounds, you can rent a kayak or catamaran. There are toilets. Interesting trees, there are signs with names. You can walk with dogs on a leash. You can fish, but you need to release, you can't score. In general, there is everything for a comfortable stay with the whole family. I recommend it for recreational walks and recreation.

Great park overall!! Reasonable price for paddle boats, canoe, etc. Staff was super helpful with getting the paddle boat in/out of the water and letting us switch with 3 adults and 5 kids for a 2-hour rental. There are pavilions with picnic tables. Playground with large slide for big kids. Sand volleyball court (where we built sandcastles). There is a paved, easy trail for a walk by the lake. Will go back for sure!!

Growing up on the east side my parents took us to the metro parks for cookouts and to just spend time in the park. When I moved to Aurora as an adult I figured we would have a very difficult time finding a place like squires Castle. I was wrong... Sunny lake Park in Aurora is not part of the metropark system It's actually owned by the city of Aurora. And like most things in Aurora they do an exceptional job not only keeping it clean but making sure that all of the equipment from the benches to the playground equipment and pavilions are all in pristine shape. On my last visit the park was packed, but unlike other places the visitors to this park are extraordinarily thoughtful and kind. People will tell you where available parking spaces are which was a new one for me. It has a loop around the lake which is about a mile and a half long I believe and unlike a lot of paved paths this one is not poorly kept It's like a new stretch of freeway in the woods. It will Keep your feet clean, no need to break out the old shoes because your brand new sneakers will not get destroyed in mud puddles walking around this park. Whether you have kids or just trying to get some exercise this is an exceptionally good place for families and just alone. It's worth checking out, you'll be glad you did.

Did an orienteering event here and the park was clean and very well taken care of. Plenty of parking and seating. Nice paths. Trash cans where needed so visitors can keep it nice. There's a dog park area, but I don't know enough about it.

Sunny Lake is a gem for our local communities. I moved to Summit County years ago, but never knew it existed. This is going to be a favorite place to visit. A multi-use paved trail around the lake (under two miles) with plenty of benches to sit and appreciate nature, along with various cooking areas. I can't wait till Fall to see this lake surrounded in crimson golds. I'm going back for a box lunch and spending a 'Me' day there. I'm sorry I didn't find Sunny Lake earlier.

This is a park for everyone. You can take quiet hikes through the woods, or walk along the paved trail around the lake. There are activities for all and it is a beautiful place to spend time at. There are many kinds of birds and animals that call this their home.. Just come see for yourself..

Such a nice and clean park! They got ice cream, paddle boating, fishing, a volleyball net, a play ground, a dog park, a biking/hiking Trail, and much more! Everyone is so friendly and I would 100% recommend this park!

What a great park. It's a nice, flat, easy surface to walk. Up the hill is the dog park which is also great. There is Frisbee golf, biking, fishing. All sorts of fun stuff to do here.

Beautiful park for anything from a quick morning run to stroll with the dogs, or a picnic with the family.

A very lovely park has a little bit of something for everyone. I was using the paved walking trail and doing some geocaching. It's only flaw is the frisbee golf course is rather overgrown

Great for quiet evening walk, small playgrounds on both sides/parking lots. Good amount of dog walkers here if you want to see cute puppies :) very peaceful park

Really nice paved trail, about 2mi around the whole lake. A really nice walk. Lots of folks out, and playgrounds on the north and south side of the lake.

Great little park with a lot of pavilions and play areas for the kids. The lake looks well maintained too. And there's an ice cream shop!!!

Two play areas for kids, nice paved walking trail, disc golf, boat rentals, fishing, and other walking trails through the woods. You can purchase a fishing license for the lake at the boat house.

Great place to picnic with your kids and husband. Great biking around the lake trail and walking. There are playgrounds.
