We got our Dora there a few weeks ago. They were super helpful and clearly love dogs. After we came home and our doggie had some stomach issues, we called for help and they gave us all the information we needed. They gave us a new member of the family and will always have a special place in our hearts.

We were blessed with a min-pin mix from the licking county shelter for 12 years. Scooter was a loving, playful male. When we acquired him the staff said he had been there quite some time. His breath was horrendous. Possibly why he was being rejected. We immediately had our vet address his oral health. He was like the Popeye of pups. Large 'upper body'. When he got excited and barked his rump would bounce off of the ground.
He loved to snuggle, play, and go for walks and rides.
Some said that he could talk. There were times when it sounded like he was saying 'i love you' or "but I really really want some!" Friends would literally drop their forks and stare.
We miss you so much Scooter! See you again one day ----

I found two terribly neglected -but cute- little dogs running in the middle of a busy road at night. I couldn't keep them since I already have several cats. I researched online and found the Licking County Animal shelter. They had mostly good reviews and a wonderful facebook page. I was relieved to see they were open 7 days a week (except holidays)- and opened by 8:00 in the morning for intake of stray dogs. So, I kept the dogs overnight then took them there in the morning. When I arrived there was no wait. I was greeted at the desk for paperwork immediately. I felt good leaving them there, because of how professional and caring the staff were checking in the dogs. I called a couple times later to check on them- and easily reached a live, friendly person by phone. I was happy to hear that the dogs were given "dawn' baths and regular outside playtime. Within one week, both dogs were adopted - and I was thrilled to see the adoption pictures on the facebook website. These old, stray dogs, were treated with love- and found homes fast. They said they would've kept them "as long as it took" to get adopted. If I understand correctly, they don't euthanize unless there's something seriously wrong with a dogs health, or if it has a dangerous temperament. Take a stray here-- or adopt from here-- with confidence. Thanks guys!

I recently started working here on Monday and they staff here are amazing and kind. They care for the dogs and other workers safety and always give the dogs attention. I know I am going to like it here. The dogs are so friendly and just want to be loved and i look forward to working here everyday.
