I liked the authentic flavor in the curry and Pad Thai. The food was fresh and flavorful. The owner is a funny person. Clean and hygienic environment.

Stopped in as we drove through Auburn and were so pleasantly surprised. The food here deserves more stars than Google has posted, it was great! We had both Pad Thai and Pad See Ew - the spice is 1-5 and a 3 was still warm, so if you're used to ordering a not-too-spicy-medium I would order a 1 or 2.
Both dishes were so good, thai iced teas were great as well. Restaurant was very clean and the food came so quickly!

I really love the Curry pineapple 🍍 fried rice. They make it vegan for me with no eggs or fish sauce. Add tofu and cashews.

Everything we ordered was delicious! Not a lot of seating and you can tell the building is older but if you are wanting good quality thai food I recommend this place! Good portion sizes and friendly staff. Will definitely stop here again next time we are in Auburn.

I had the red curry (substituted tofu for chicken) and my husband had the chicken phad Thai. They were both yummy. We will definitely be returning. The atmosphere could be improved but the food was so good. We came back and tried the Cashew Nut and Masumum Curry. They were both delicious!

I’ve been coming here for years. I’ve tried many other Thai places across the country and this one is way up there on my list. The food is consistently great and the owner is very friendly and personable. The building is a little tired but that’s not a big deal.

We have been customers of this restaurant for over 30 years. I am a zero Star kinda guy, whereas the rest of the family is spicier, and they always get it right. Well worth your time to visit.

Edit to add curry fried rice photo. Huge chunks of chicken and pineapple.

Koong Thong has long been a family favorite. Do you ever have those moments where you see somewhere familiar with new eyes? Come back to Auburn after a few years and it looks like the old building housing our favorite thai is falling apart, and I don't even care!! So delicious! Great portions. Couple meals worth each and I can pack some thai down. Consistently beats other thai within a good distance and is in a convenient location. Friendly, quiet staff. Restaurant is uaully empty (and very quiet), which is sad for those of us who want Koong Thong to stick around and great for the introvert.

Woah watch out. You get a mountain of food from this place. Enough for 2 big servings or 4 people if you share appetizers.

Great taste and flavor. You get a good amount of meat with the noodles and big pieces, not thin.

Ordered a mild and it’s a little dance in your mouth if you have a low spice tolerance. I was fine with it but it was more than I expected. Order 0 no spice if you can’t handle spiciness that well.

Hope to try the rest of the menu.

Been going here for years for takeout.
Have never eaten inside, one day I will.
Just got the Pad Tai with tofu instead of meat, and it was very good.
The owners are very friendly too.

The food was great and the owner is superb! The restaurant offers authentic Thai food with great taste. Besides that the service and hospitallity is awesome. My dad didn't like his recipe, not because it was bad, it just wasn't his taste, and the owner came with a different meal to make sure my dad had gotten enough to eat.

To the owner: Thank you once again for the generous hospitality and the nice conversation

Ill drive the 30 min to eat herr again. Ive eaten at all the ones downtown sea, tukwila, federal way, renton, seatac and Puyallup. This place is the beat by far.

The best restaurant in Auburn hands down. They've been around since I was a kid. The building use to be a Taco Time branch but went out of business. Gladly, they got hold of this place and made it what it is. Amazing food, good price, and a full stomach. I appreciate Koong Thong for being here all these years. Good people run this place and the efforts they put into their business reflects that. The pad Thai and yellow curry are my two favorites.

My wife and I have been eating out here for years. We love Thai food and order exclusively from Koong Thing when they are open. But, sometimes we get a craving for it on Sunday when Koong Thong is closed, so that’s when we try different Thai restaurants. No place has curry that is even close to how good Koong Thongs is. We’ve eaten at Koong Thong three times in one week before. My wife and I both love the red chicken curry and beef pad se ew. I sometimes get prawn yellow curry.

I tried curry from a different Thai restaurant today and only ate half before I just wanted to pour it down the drain.

The only down side to Koong Thong is that it’s not always consistent. I (once) received yellow curry that was watery and didn’t seem to have coconut milk in it. Sometimes we get rice with a dish and other times we don’t receive rice. The next time we will pay for rice because we didn’t get rice with the same order previously and then get double rice. Also, the spice is sometimes inconsistent, but we don’t mind that because we assume it’s because they use fresh peppers which can fluctuate greatly in heat. Just beware if your sensitive to spice. I love spice that hurts going in and coming out but my wife like a much more mild level of spice. I’ve had 5 stars that I could hardly finish and some that tasted like 3 stars. My wife has had 3 stars they taste like 5 stars or 0 stars. Regardless of the heat is right though, it’s always delicious.

Lastly, the owner is very friendly and this is a nice family owned local place. In the 5-6 years we’ve been eating here, I have never seen someone else working the front desk. I’ve been in when it’s dead and when it’s slammed and he’s obviously stressed.

Highly recommend.

This is our go-to for take-out Thai food. The portions, quality and pricing are all great. We've ordered a variety of dishes and I can't say that we've been disappointed with anything. The Tom Kah Kai, Yellow Curry, and of course, Pad Thai are favorites that we keep coming back to. We often order extra pork or chicken with our dish for only $2!

Restaurant and food are great... SIMPLEMENU website IS NOT! Used SimpleMenu to place and pay for order. Upon pickup, discovered an item was missing and that it had never been relayed to the restaurant. SimpleMenu LITERALLY charges you to have one of their own employees CALL the restaurant and place your order. It is not automated and mistakes can be made on their end (or it's intentional skimming). SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE and simply call in your order. Owner was kind and made our remaining dish, despite not receiving payment from SimpleMenu on that item. Again - call it in! They're easy to communicate with and very helpful! Thank you!

Great prices, great food, authentic. Spice-sensitive folks be warned: when I say authentic I mean AUTHENTIC. If you usually get a 3-star dish, trust me, don't go higher than 2. Even a friend of mine used to authentic spicy Thai food was slammed by the 3-star. Don't try to be brave. 😂🔥🔥🔥

I'd definitely call this place "no-nonsense," but I like that. Very straightforward but still polite. Handled the social distancing policy very well, also. Lots of respect to that.
