Super 8 by Wyndham Norfolk/Chesapeake Bay

The bathroom walls had dents, holes, scratches & stains, as did the bathtub. The shower had no water pressure. There was NO ICE MACHINE a “new one” Delivered on our 4th of 8 days but had a sign on it not to use the remainder of our stay. The grounds: sidewalks, parking lot, sand-dunes food & drink packaging, broken beach chairs etc. Sandy floor upon entering the hotel room. Needs either better or more housekeeping & grounds staff.
Needs Day & Night Security. The BEST part is the close vicinity of the beach. That’s ALL this place really has going for it. They need to spend some money on upgrades, maintenance, outdoor-security

Quiet cozy and clean. May have seen a bug and the safe and hair dryer didn't work but other than that. The experience with stay was great

Needed to make a last-minute weekend reservation with a special request for a non-smoking room located on the first floor to accommodate a good friend's elderly parent with limited mobility. The front desk, Sheena, was friendly and went out of her way to make sure the room was ready within 10-20 minutes despite the time being close to guest check-out. Pleasantly surprised overall and will definitely consider an extended stay at this location. Spacious, clean and well-kept room that checked all the boxes that fit the budget. Thank you to the Super 8 staff (Eddy the Maintenance Manager!) and would definitely recommend to friends/family!

Don't be scared away by the bad reviews of this place. It is in an excellent location. The bay view was AMAZING! The bed was SO comfortable that we wanted to take it home. The air was so cold that we had to cut it down. The tv had SO many channels. The room had a nice size fridge and a microwave. The staff was friendly and the private beach was absolutely priceless. The price could be more once their renovations are completed but it was worth it. We will definitely be staying here again in the future.

Our experience was great! We stayed in a pool side view room. Only downside was the bathtub in room 124 had draining issues, but we were able to check out late which was great! Also, even after checking out, we were able to borrow towels to complete our stay with a trip to the beach (they let us borrow THEIR towels, too) and once we got through the manager even let us shower in one of the vacant hotel rooms! He allowed us to do this EVEN AFTER CHECKING OUT. Staff was highly understanding and our stay was awesome. The private beach was peacefull and not crowded PLUS the pool was very clean. I will most definitely be making trips to this hotel, probably once a month, from now on during the summer!

I loved my stay. I booked king deluxe studio suite, I had no idea it had a jacuzzi. Bonus! However I took photos of how pretty it is. I'm hoping I figure out how to post them for everyone to see. Staff was amazing and helpful. Accommodating is putting it lightly. Location was great

Location was great, was quiet enough. Just your basic Budget hotel. Don't come here expecting a five-star hotel and then leave a negative review because you didn't get it. You get what you pay for. Beach access was good for little kids. Calm water.

I came in from out of town and my car broke down and rick bent over backwards to help me. He called a friend of his to work out a good deal for my repairs, and gave me a late checkout. When the coffee pot in my room stopped working he was there in five minute with a new one. The room and grounds were very clean, comfortable and peaceful. I had a wonderful stay and will be returning.

Perfect place to stay u can enjoy at beach right away. Rooms are awesome newly renovated, very quite. Staff are very helpful and rate are very reasonable even less as compared to motel 6.

Enjoyed my stay. Have stayed here every time I visit and it is normally very quite. Only had one bad night were other guests partied outside my room till 1.30 am or a little later. But overall we enjoyed our stay. Will stay with them again in a few months

Loved my trip here had a second floor room on the backside over looking g the ocean most amazing view to start and finish my day with. Was nice and quiet here really got most of my enjoyment on our little getaway from my room and the beach area it sits on. Everyone must stay here once in there lifetime.

My son had his wedding on the beach and the manager, Rick upgraded his room to a jacuzzi suite for a wedding gift the night of their wedding! He also bought them the candles and decorations for the room along with wine glasses! He was so helpful he also gave us the chairs and some pillars for the wedding! The wedding wouldn't have been so beautiful without him! People dont normally care unless they are getting something out of it. Rick was absolutely amazing!!! He was so accommodating and was willing to do what he could to make things perfect! We will definitely go back!!! Thank you for everything!!!!!

The hotel itself is a little run down and could def. Use a facelift but the rooms are clean,up to date and seem well taken care of,also its 30 feet to the BEACH. My wife and I have enjoyed our 4 day stay and plan on returning in the future

It was nice inside but the floor needs to be clean we clean the bath room up some got some dirt off of the floor with the rag and also cleaned up before we left we love it because it's there by the ocean.

2nd time to stay here. Once in the summer and loved the walks I got to take on the beach. Found some pretty shells. This stay was in the winter and had a room facing the water. It was a wonderful stight to wake up to.

This motel was right on the beach. The staff was so friendly, the rooms were nice and we even enjoyed spending time with the other guests who were staying for a few days. I will DEFINITELY be back here!!

The saff are very respectful and sweet. I just booked a king suite for 2 days it was very clean although ive stayed her before its just a good vibe and great energy im definitely coming back again. Thank u

The decor in this hotel is much nicer than other Super 8's that I have stayed in! You can have a nice view from the backside of the hotel too!

Although I didn't stay here, the front desk employee was very nice and allowed me to park while I held an open house next door and also recommended restaurants nearby so my wife and I could grab something to eat afterwards.

The hotel was very accommodating to any off the issues they may of had going on because they have been remodeling the hotel only thing I could say is to make sure all ac works in all room room about a 4 star if your staying in bay side those are the remodeled and Friday and Saturday are very busy but staff was great had not a bad breakfast deff better then most so I give them that I would recommend staying in bay side if you can and deff stay here then the motel 6 down the street is very bad
