Ocean View Beach Park

I can't wait until summer 🌞 gets here , I'm be on the beach ⛱🏖 enjoying my life ❤ it

Went today for 4 hours and it was amazing. Nice beach with playground & loads are room for kids to play. Lots of families were enjoying their day in the sun as well. We will definitely return. I recommend this place to anyone local or passing through 🌊🏖🤍

We’re from out of town and stopped here just to walk & stretch our legs on our way back home, it makes a great little pit stop. The beach was very clean, it wasn’t too busy/crowded, and listening to the ocean waves was very relaxing before hitting the road again.

Absolutely beautiful. Love sitting on the beach here watching the sun rise in the mornings listening to the waves moving in & out. Very peaceful in the mornings with very few people during the early mornings. I can see my feet even when out waist deep. Nice clear water. Not blue but still clear enough to see through.

Great beach to visit when in Norfolk. They have restrooms, outside showers, benches, live music, as well as a large stretch of beach to walk and swim in. Lots for our littles to do!

I love this beach because it is an ideal place for my two children. It is not as crowded as other places in the area. We met people from out of town that come to this beach for fun because it is nice. But there are some things worth noting here to help others who have never been here before. Our last visit was a week ago. My feedback is not to dissuade people from visiting this beach, it is a wonderful place to bring little ones, but I want readers to know what to expect.

The pros:
The beach is awesome, and the location is ideal. It is really close to the parking lot and restrooms compared to First Landing and other places in VA Beach. The sand is gorgeous, and trashcans are placed all over the place. The water is not deep and not rough; an ideal place for little ones. Ramp for wheelchairs. There are Lifeguards on duty till 5 pm. Look for the flags: red flag means, everyone must get out of the water. Green Flag means no danger, and everyone is cleared to jump in the water. When we were there, the red flag was up until wind, rain, and highlighting disappeared. Restaurants and the Dollar Store are within walking distance. PLUS - Dairy Queen is also within walking distance. Police are seen at the parking lot the few times I visited here.

Cons:
Locals are often here trashing the place. We sat next to a family of multiple kids who were from a nearby area. I know this because I spoke to one of the women. After a while, they rounded up their kids and left their trash laying all over the place.
The restrooms are disgusting. The men's restroom is worse. The stalls have no doors. It seemed someone ripped them off.
The women's restroom, from what my wife said, is also needing a serious overhaul.
Partying at the beach nearby - which is outside of the government-owned beach - is a nuisance, but it doesn't happen all the time. When we were there last weekend, there was a huge party near us playing R-rated music. Then drunkards roamed the restroom area cussing and yelling in front of children. This has to stop!
The parking lot is small, but parking across the street at the shopping center is an option.

Overall, this beach is an awesome place! All the negative things noted above are minor things that you may not experience or see if you visit this place. For instance, partying with loud music and cussing are not happening all the time, and not all visitors to this beach, local or out-of-town people, are irresponsible. I highly recommend this beach park to parents with little kids.

Place to relax and have fun.
You can try walking in the sand barefoot for 20 minutes every day, you will lose weight.

This is actually a really convenient way to be on the water without dealing with the VA Beach craziness. Took the kids (6, 5, and 3) and they loved it. Really low-key, plenty of parking and seating, and a nice view of the pier. The restrooms and showers are closed right now, but when they open back up it'll be even better!!

Great place to take the family out on a free outing. Plus, it's even better when they live events and activities for the kids

Enjoyed looking out at the ocean while feeling the cool breeze blow through my hair. I much needed relief from the hot-muggy days we've been having. It was a spontaneous trip. The best thing about OV I could always find a parking space whenever visit an don't have to pay like some beaches.

A peaceful beach with outdoor showers, restrooms, trees and grass. Low surf and shallow water is good for children. When we were there the jellyfish hadn't arrived and the water was clean.

Just a great time by everyone there! Music is Back!!! Live music Friday and Sunday nights starting after 6pm. Each night music is different. Check local listing on who is playing. There are public restrooms. Food an drink vendors are available. Come enjoy a nice free night out in Ocean view! It's worth your time! Bring your own chair or blanket. Enjoy yourselfs....

Very nice and quiet, with a lifeguard and bathrooms but the best thing is the free parking lol

Had a wonderful time with the family. Glad we arrived early. It started to get a little crowed as we were getting ready to leave.

It was a great beach ! They keep it nice and clean ... Great if you want to go there alone or with your whole family

Very nice - We've visited at different times and it hasn't been extremely crowded - even on the weekend.
