Morty's Cafe: St. George

This place is really, really good. I tried the Hawaiian burger and the pulled pork sandwich. The pulled pork was quite good but the Hawaiian burger was seriously delicious. Cooked to perfection with cheese and bacon. They add some sort of pineapple jelly sauce that really made it tasty. I want to come back and try every burger they offer.

The fries are superb. But the real treat is their scone fries. Make sure to dip them in the raspberry butter.

Best Burger joint here in St. George in my opinion. After reading the reviews, both me and my fiance had to come here and try it ourselves. I tried their special burger (Jalapeno Popper Burger) and it was delicious! Tasted just like a jalapeno popper w/ bacon. My fiance got the breakfast burger and he enjoyed it. There was a line but it moved fast and was brought to our table in a timely manner. Their onion rings were tasty as well. Definitely a place to check out! Next time I will try the scone fries. 🤤🍔❤

There's fresh and then there's Morty's. This was our first experience here. The server was very accommodating and friendly. It didn't take long before our order was brought to us. Then pure delight. The bun, vegetables, and patties were fresh..... yes patties. I ordered a double. The Morty's sauce is the secret to the Iconic burger. I drenched it. My wife and I inhaled it.... so I ordered another double Iconic. Repeated the drenching and feasted once more. Surprisingly we had enough room to eat the fries.... drenched in the sauce. I may be partial to the sauce. Delicious!

Very Satisfying!! Double Iconic burger with Bacon and extra Morty Sauce, side of beer battered Onion Rings. 70's hits playing in the background, they really nailed this one. Pressed griddle seared, huge bacon slices, and you need two hands and ability to kind of haunch over (Guy Fieri style) to take it down. Onion rings are a good side choice. After a day of hiking in the Red Rocks, carrying a 45 pound pack, this is a rewarding meal!

I got the Hawaiian burger with chicken. It had really good spice! The sweet potato fries were delicious. My son tried their tried and true breakfast sandwich. He loved it! We also got an order of scone fries. They were so good my son had to go get a second order!

This was a really solid burger place. All the food was great.

The burger had great flavor and seemed quite premium. The avocado on my burger was not the best though; it wasn't quite ripe so it didn't have much flavor and was a bit hard. But the burger was overall still very good.

The fries were double fried giving them a great crisp.

The chocolate shake tasted great, but it did have a strange grit to it that was a little odd.

The soda cups are quite small. That's fine if you're dining in, but at almost $3, the size is silly small for carry out.

The bathroom locks could use an indicator if they're occupied.

Amazing food! The thick sweet potato fries were my favorite with the fry sauce! I ordered the Hawaiian burger and loved the pineapple sauce. The service was great and the atmosphere was fun with interesting local art along the walls. I’d definitely recommend hitting it up next time you are in St. George!

I wish I found this place sooner! The food was amazing and the service was so good! We got our food literally 2 minutes after sitting down. The Das Frik'n Burger and sweet potato fries were delicious. Definitely coming back!

This is a well run establishment. Employees were kind and clearly well trained. Our group of 5 went on a Saturday evening during spring break, and they were very quick and efficient (though, quite busy). Got the Hawaiian burger and the sweet potato fries and both were excellent.

Update: got the philly cheesesteak burger based on a recommendation. It was tasty, but not as good as the Hawaiian burger.

Everything my husband and I have tried here has been happy-dance delicious. They have some of the best sweet potato fries, the burgers are unique and well-crafted, juicy, flavorful, and large for a good price. Their sandwiches are spectacular, with fresh ingredients. They were really accommodating with requests (I like the California with added turkey). They also have Stubborn Pineapple Cream Soda in their fountain drinks and it is *to die for.* There are lots of healthy & vegetarian/vegan options too!

In St. George the dining area is surrounded by artwork from local artists available for purchase. It's a cool, relaxed, and fun place to eat!

Morty's Cafe is absolutely the best Burger in St George, and one of the top in Utah! We never go to St George without stopping here. Amazing 4.8/5 for Morty's!

Morty's highlight is the very fresh tasting beef, and it has to be locally sourced. They're well pressed on the grill, you can tell in the picture. It has a great crust, and is cooked perfectly. Season a tiny bit more with Salt and Pepper and it's 5/5. The cheese is melty, the toppings are fresh, and the bun is awesome. Every Burger we've had has been great. Cream Cheese burgers, Bacon Burgers, and specialties. You can't go wrong. Just very impressed by the freshness of everything. Great shakes as well, very smooth and great consistency, get one! We love the Morty's sauce and the fries have a great batter. Onion rings also have that great batter. We love the atmosphere, the local art support, and the staff is always great with their code names for the food. Super fun, homey, and great food. Great job over there guys.

Delicious food. I have been several times and tried many menu items. Most recently I ordered the Hawaiian burger which I was pleasantly surprised by. The burger sounds very spicy on paper but did not pack much of a punch at all. If you are looking for a spicy burger it's not going to knock your socks off by any means. The turkey, bacon, ranch sandwich is another of my faves but they have been out of turkey twice and replaced it with chicken, which just is not as good in the sandwich.
Would highly recommend the sweet potato fries as they are some of the best I've ever had. Fries are ok as are the onion rings. I thought the onion rings had too much moisture in them, whether from excess grease or a juicy onion I do not know. Finally, the scone fries. Very tasty. The raspberry cheesecake dip reminds me of a toaster strudel.

The Reuben was so good, that it was half gone before I thought about taking a picture. Great atmosphere, fast and courteous service, and amazing food!

Fantastic place to grab a burrito, burger, or sandwich. We waited maybe 5 minutes for our food, which was delicious. Everything tasted so fresh and flavorful. There is local art in the one wall, which adds to that cozy cafe feel. We will definitely go back next time we are in town.

We were recommended to Morty's by a local whose office is nearby, after noticing the sign "Now serving breakfast." Our friend said he'd never had their breakfast, but could really recommend their sandwiches and burgers. I had the turkey bacon ranch grilled sandwich, which was tasty enough, but the scone fries lifted it above the ordinary. Served with a sprinkle of powdered sugar, these were reminiscent of French toast, and a good sweet/savory side to go with the grilled sandwich. My spouse had the "Iconic" burger with regular fries, and assessed it as OK, but ordinary.

When we come back (because we will), we'll check the online menu first. The over-counter listing shows only the names of items, but doesn't list contents - and doesn't show all the side options.

In my opinion this is the absolute best burger joint in Saint George. The burgers are absolutely fantastic, and the rest of the menu I've tried is amazing as well. Salads, power bowls, fries, sauces, all of the options are great. Not just for meat eaters either, lots of alternative options are available as well. It's always quick for the quality, and the staff is always helpful.
My partner and I have gone here for years, and we like to try lots of places around town, but we have revisited this place the most by far. If you're local, hopefully you've already tried this place, and if you're a visitor, definitely try this place out. We'll probably see you there!

Side note, they also sell and display local art here, which I love.

Additional side note, I love so many of their burgers, my personal favorite is the Sunny Side burger though. My goodness it's delicious. I don't know what sauce they put in there with the eggs and the burger but it's fantastic. My partner's favorite is just the iconic though. Also the sweet potato fries are superior, but their normal fries are delicious as well. Up to your preference there.

Freaking awesome! The service was quick and so was the food! And dang! The burgers were big and full of flavor! And the rings and sweet potato fries were amazing! I love to choose little places like this cause they are always good and work hard to make sure were taken care of. 10/10 would recommend.

This is a great place for an amazing burger. Fun atmosphere with fast service. Worth the trip when in town.

I went to the Logan location way back in 2016 so I was very excited to have their fries again(I remembered their fries being Utah best!) and they were everything I remembered EXCEPT they were pulled from the fryer a minute or two early, they weren't crispy enough and some would bend with ease. I still highly recommend, especially for the fries AND the local art displayed and sold!

Mortys is my favorite spot in town its got great prices for even better food. I recommend going for breakfast because they get huge crowds around lunch or dinner. Get the Morty’s burrito or the tried and true sandwich.
