It's rare I give a 5 star review but this gem deserves it. Great coffee, the scones are awesome, as is the service and staff. The atmosphere is unique. It is located in the old Ft. Monroe fire station and decorated accordingly. They also have ice cream. Can't praise this place enough.

My daughter decided to take my granddaughter and myself here today after a few hours at Fort Monroe Beach. The Lavender coffee with whipped cream was superb
My daughter had greens salad with chicken which she said was delicious. It looked scrumptious to me. I tried banana pudding ice cream while my grandmother had vanilla.
The interior is very homey and firetrucks everywhere. An awesome little place to try out . You won't be disappointed.
Thanks for a wonderful time.

What a neat vibe! We are passing through the area and decided to stop due to the reviews and glad that we made the venture onto the island to check this firehouse coffee place out. It had a great atmosphere. We got their specialty. Drink the lavender vanilla latte, and an iced white chocolate mocha. Very good. It was not busy at all, and the employees were really welcoming. Love that they had indoor and outdoor seating, and the decor definitely connected to the firehouse theme. Very neat!

They had a special for spicy BBQ sandwich when I stopped in. I picked it over their usual delightful chicken salad sandwich and I was amazed by its deliciousness. I would highly recommend both of these sandwiches 🥪! This is one of my favorite spots in Hampton because you can get a snack and then walk along the moat to the shores!

Lovely, pleasant place. Great chicken salad.
Nice place to enjoy a coffee and chat or read a book. Couch, chairs, outside seating too.
Full ice cream options!

This place was a pleasant surprise! We ordered the iced dirty chai and were not disappointed! It was fantastic 😋 The atmosphere was calm and relaxing. The history of the location is a bonus. We will definitely be back!

Firehouse Coffee has such a neat atmosphere and is a very welcoming place. All the people working here were very friendly and helpful, and since this was my first time here they gave me a sticker, which is apparently their neat tradition for first time guests! I ordered my usual tester, a hot caramel latte, and it was good, not the best but good. I also ordered the egg and cheese breakfast sandwich on a croissant. I went out to my vehicle, started it up, and decided to take a bite before I left and I am so glad that I did! That breakfast sandwich was the best breakfast sandwich I have ever had at a coffee shop and maybe even ever! It was so delicious that I turned off my truck, finished my sandwich, and went back inside to let them know how good it was and to order another sandwich, which was just as good! The croissant was buttery, flakey, and fresh. The egg was cooked there, not microwaved pre-made like almost every other coffee shop. Any time I am out this way I will definitely stop in and get another 2 breakfast sandwiches. Absolutely delicious food and I highly recommend stopping in.

Good food, good service, good vibes. I went for the first time with a women's group from church after we walked alongside the beach, we worked up an appetite and it did not disappoint. Get the lavender vanilla latte!!! Trust me you will be back from more. I also got the egg, cheese and sausage croissant as it came highly recommended and it was spot on. Price was reasonable for the area (~$15 per person with tip). The atmosphere was very relaxed and welcoming. They treat you like family but also professional. I appreciate that there was seating both inside and outside. I'm already planning my trip back!!!

The whole Ft. Monroe area is super cool but strange at the same time. It sometimes still feels like an active military base, but then you have regular business and residents. This old coffee shop is outside the main fort, just a jaunt away. I had a scoop of salted caramel ice cream which was brilliant and a hot apple cinnamon muffin. The prices were reasonable for whatever I ordered, but I can’t say for other lunch-food items. Recommend a visit if in the area, cheers.

Update 2/3
There are some subtle changes happening! The new owners are very friendly and Firehouse Coffee remains the same community meeting spot it has always been. The new owners are very receptive to feedback. I'm excited to see what else is in store.

This is a cute little coffee shop with sandwiches and ice cream. It's nestled in the heart of Fort Monroe in an old firehouse. The ice cream was fantastic and the coffee was good. I would definitely give this place another visit.

Super sweet people working at this adorable coffee shop. Not many people there on a lonely Thursday afternoon. They have fun fireman things, chess, and other toys for kids to play with. I ordered a dirty chai, and it was great. Kids got hot chocolate, and they said it was good. We got a bag of coffee beans, and we are excited to try the Chesapeake Bay blend!

It'd be cooler if it was cop themed but the coffee is fantastic. Great coffee that's worth the drive. Great spot for a date.

All of the history and charm of Fort Monroe preserved yet combined with a wonderful modern day atmosphere to hang out and have any one of a variety of delicious beverages and food options. Pet friendly (leash please)

Cute coffee shop uniquely located outside the SW corner of Fort Monroe in a historic Army firehouse. Indoor and outdoor seating with friendly staff and comfortable and mellow homey vibe. Old fashioned ice cream, sandwiches, bakery, sodas and hot/cold coffee/tea options + more. Kid friendly with options to sit at couch and play games or tables by a window to study or read. Great place to stop to cool off in the AC, grab a cold drink and admire the historic building.

Very friendly place! Delicious hand dipped ice cream. The cold brew coffee was so-so. The people all had masks on. I am glad a saw a local reviewer that recommended it. Glad we went.

Located just next to the moated off area of old Ft. Monroe, Firehouse Coffee repurposed the historic firehouse on the base turning it into a beautiful and fun coffee shop that includes a full ice cream bar. Whether inside or outside, you'll enjoy a great environment and views.

I really enjoyed my time here. The atmosphere is very calm, the drinks were very good. I really appreciate that they care about the details. A great example of that is the fact that they make coffee ice cubes so your drink does not get watered down. In my time there, I saw many kids and dogs accompanying customers, and it just felt very inviting and welcoming for everybody. I really appreciated that. The employees were very nice as well.

One of our VERY FAVORITE coffee spots in the area (named 2nd best of the state or town, cannot remember...), I come here for espresso based coffees and, sometimes, for their yummy breakfast sandwiches / my other half loves the ciabatta breakfast sandwiches ❤!!!
