I have been going to John Kittrell for a number of years, and it has always been a very pleasant experience. The routine tooth cleaning appointments are always on time; the staff is very attentive and professional; John is there when he needs to be to talk about one's problems and discuss what to do. Routine appointments are easily scheduled to suit one's schedule and if additional work is needed, a prompt follow-up appointment has always been available. I can't speak to the relative costs, because my dental insurance has always covered the work, thank goodness.

Excellent practice in all aspects. Most importantly, Dr. Kittrell is by far the best dentist I have ever been to. All of the work he has done for me has been of the highest quality and virtually pain-free, from simple fillings to a root canal. His innovative practice often allows you to spend less time there while still getting the absolute best in care. The dental hygienists are equally professional, and the office staff members are all so friendly, efficient, and nice you almost look forward to each dental visit. You really couldn't ask for anything more from a dental practice, and I can recommend it 100% without reservation.

My appointment was with Dr Matt. He is the nicest, friendly Dentist I’ve ever been to.I had a tooth with a real old filling & the tooth was cracked. He removed the filling & shaved the crack. So no crown needed. He is so patient with his assistant when she’s looking for what he needs. He explained every step of what he was doing.

The care and quality of service continues to be exceptional. For many years, I, like many people, dreaded going to the dentist or having work done. The staff, hygienists, and Drs. John and Matt are simply wonderful; while I can’t say I go to the dentist with alacrity, I certainly could not ask for a better experience.

Exceptional experience; Level of care and expertise is top notch in both doctors and support staff. Receptionists are extremely efficient and fit me in when I developed a tooth infection, multiple root canals later I can say I have lost my fear of dentists due to my experience at Dr. Kittrells. Great business.

First time visiting a dentist in Richmond and it was great! I had chipped my front tooth slightly on a glass of water and wanted to get it repaired as soon as possible. They got me in the next morning and after a short consultation, I was ready for the repair and it took less than five minutes! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The service I received was excellent! Certainly referring friends to this office.

Excellent hygiene during the COVID-19 pandemic! Dr. Matthew is very good at what he does. He cleaned my teeth with little to no pain! Also, he tells you what you need to do better but he never makes you feel extra guilty about it. Also, Keri is wonderful as well! She is not afraid to tell you like it is and is more than happy to answer any of your questions! I would highly recommend them to anyone!

This is a very comfortable place to have your dental work done. I came in to the office based on positive google reviews, and I was not disappointed. Needed a molar pulled and Dr. Kittrell was very comforting and patient with me (He made sure I did not feel anything at all). His staff are all very nice, and prices are reasonable especially considering I don't have dental insurance.

What a wonderful dental practice! I'm embarrassed at what a bad patient I am (scared, anxious and fretful) - but they never make me feel that way. Everyone at Dr. Kittrell's office, from the doctors to the dental hygienists and intake staff, are calming and comforting. His office always will work in a patient in pain. You're in good hands with Dr. Kittrell!

Dr. John Kittrell and his assistant were extremely attentive and thorough when I came in for assessment of gum and teeth health. Dr. Kittrell made a plan to cap two teeth. He advised me on an improved daily hygiene plan for my teeth and gums. Dr. Kittrell instructed me on the use of a soft toothbrush to care for difficult to reach teeth in the back of my mouth. I highly recommend this very professional dental family practice.

I always have a positive experience at the office! Everyone - from the administrative coordinators to the hygienists, to Dr. Kittrell himself - have been very kind and helpful toward me. One of the best decisions I made when I moved to Richmond 4 years ago.

I have been going to Dr. Kittrell for over 15 years and I wouldn't think of going to anyone else. During the four years I lived out of state for college I would even make sure to schedule my dental appointments during my visits home because I trust him and I didn't want to go to anyone else. The receptionists and hygienists always greet me with a smile and in a way that makes the whole experience more personal and less like a doctors appointment. When Dr. Kittrell comes in he always takes time to ask me what's going on and listens to any concerns I may have before starting the exam where as other doctors have just rushed through. I would 100% recommend Dr. Kittrell and his staff to anyone who asked.

I haven’t been to this practice in years, but wanted to leave a good review! I had a root canal here and every dentist I’ve been to since compliments on how beautifully done it is!

Got me in as a new patient quickly on short notice for a toothache. John was professional, explained everything well, and did not rush the appointment. Their covid practices are great and it felt safe. Overall a good experience.

I am a 22 year patient of Dr. Kittrell's. I can honestly say that I have NEVER been to a better dentist, bar none. That is notable, considering that my dental history includes just about every procedure known to man, having been done. The crowns and bridges and root canals and special cosmetic procedures are plural in my case, and Dr. Kittrell always made it easy and comfortable, which is saying a lot when one considers dental work. So, if you are looking for the most professional Dentist, who does the BEST work, with the most wonderful staff, then go no further than Dr. Kittrell.

Dr. Matthew Kittrell, the son of Dr. John Kittrell, is my dentist. He and his colleague, Cheryl, are outstanding practitioners. I first came to Dr. Kittrell to ask for a second opinion on a filling. He was incredibly thorough in his exam, and also kind and patient. He demonstrated a higher level of dentistry and he, for no fee, wanted to run an X-ray on the tooth to “be sure” his diagnosis was the most accurate. At that time, he was only my second opinion dentist, and I had planned to go back to my other for the procedure. I was so impressed by the service that I decided to change over and stay with the Kittrell practice. This week, at the ripe old age of 30, I had my first filling put in. Dr. Kittrell and Cheryl were absolutely lovely in the process, explaining to me the steps, taking their time, and in the end: the process was painless, quick, and easy! I’d highly recommend Dr. Matthew Kittrell for any dentistry work!

PS: I also want to add- the entire staff there is fantastic. From the nurses at the front who have me laughing at check-out each time, to the other hygentists I’ve interacted with. This is an A+ practice!

I have known John Kittrell since 1983. He had recently graduated from MCV dental school where I had just had some work done the previous year. I was living in the fan in Richmond and noticed his name in the yellow pages. His address was less than two blocks from where I used to live on the Boulevard. Lucky me! I could see that this man had talent in dentistry the first day I completed my appointment. I have been his patient since the beginning and have been acquainted with almost every individual staff member he has had in his practice. He has and still to this day, demonstrates superior dental skills. The dental hygienists who work with him are all excellent with many years of experience. His dental assistants are second to none and the front office staff are extraordinarily helpful and genuine. If Dr. Kittrell believes a patient's needs are greater than he can deliver, he will send you to extraordinarily competent dental surgeons. I was lucky to find the MCV dental school which helped me after 9 years of dental neglect. My next step was to find the dentist to follow the excellent work MCV did to restore my dental health. I was very fortunate to find Dr. Kittrell to continue with my dental health needs. I have referred friends and family members without hesitance because of the belief I have in this man's skills. If you choose to go to his dental practice, you will not be disappointed.
