Everyone was so nice and the atmosphere was great! My technician and hygienist were both really thorough with my imaging and cleaning and took the time to explain things to me along the way. Dr. Guthrie has great bedside manner and was really respectful and informative. They were very transparent with pricing and were able to get me in quickly for a follow up appointment too.

I have been going to James River Family Dentistry for over a year, and I can't recommend them enough. They are professional, friendly, and caring, and they always make me feel comfortable and welcome. They have a modern and clean facility, with state-of-the-art equipment and technology. They offer a wide range of services, from routine check-ups and cleanings, to cosmetic and restorative procedures, to emergency care. The staff is amazing, and they always go above and beyond to accommodate my needs and preferences. They are very knowledgeable and skilled, and they explain everything in a clear and easy way. They are also very gentle and patient, and they make sure I am pain-free and relaxed during the treatment. They are very attentive and responsive, and they follow up with me after the appointment to make sure everything is fine. They are also very flexible, and they work with my insurance. Although on the pricy side, they are worth every penny. I always leave their office with a smile on my face, and a healthy and beautiful smile on my teeth. James River Family Dentistry is the best family dentistry in town, and I wouldn't go anywhere else.

i go here with my daughter and we absolutely love it. we had to try a few places before this one worked for my (at the time) 3 year old. They are all women dentists, the office is very cozy, and they are great with those who have anxiety around the dentist!

I am SO picky about dentists- it look me a long time to find a place a love- JFRD is amazing!! Patient, thorough, and have great suggestions for improving dental health without breaking the bank. Scheduling is flexible and easy contact via text which is awesome. Highly recommend!

All the staff are amazing but I have to give a shout out to Ally.
She really connected with my kids and discusses their likes, love of travel and my sons various hockey adventures.

The whole dang staff were so caring, thorough, conscientious of my super-sensitive teeth, and the office was SPOTLESS. All around, great experience. And I really don’t like going to the dentist. They made feel me so comfortable. 10/10 would recommend.

Amazing Dentist, hygienist and staff. They really seem to care about your health in general and always want to care for any concerns that you may have regarding your dental needs.

They have two of the cutest dogs that greet you when you come in the front door. They are eager for some love and petting. You just can’t resist.

Dr.Guthrie is the absolute BEST dentist I’ve ever gone to. She’s highly skilled, professional and genuinely cares about her work. Not to mention her staff, who I could go on and on about how wonderful everyone here is. You won’t get a better teeth cleaning. Their hygienist are amazing! Thanks for another pain free procedure! I never do reviews, but I felt compelled as there so many bad dentist in Richmond, I felt a great one needed mention.

Today was my first appointment at James River Family Dentistry and I'm so thankful to have found them. Every staff member was kind, efficient, friendly, and very professional. Katie, my hygienist, was a joy and I greatly appreciated how gentle she was with my mouth. The teeth cleaning did not hurt and she explained several things along with showing scans of my teeth. It was very interesting. I have every confidence in Dr. Guthrie and look forward to having her as my dentist. She's concise and straight forward, yet very pleasant and patient. She spoke plainly of what future work she believed I should have done but at no time did I ever feel any pressure to make quick decisions. I highly recommend James River Family Dentistry!

2/12/2024 ~. It's now been two years since my first visit and, once again, I'm very thankful for another wonderful dental exam and cleaning. Katie was my hygienist again and did another gentle job on my teeth. She is very sweet and proficient and I enjoyed her company, too. Dr. Guthrie could not have been more kind and peaceable and I'm thankful for her knowledge and ways of communicating. Sometimes it's easy to feel irrelevant at medical appointments, but Dr. Guthrie reflects her value and care for patients and is an extremely understanding soul. I continue to highly recommend James River Family Dentistry.

I just had a dentist appointment today and I was smiling when I left and that’s saying something! Dr. Guthrie is so amazing and so encouraging. Everyone was amazing and I didn’t feel weird for doing all the things that I needed to do like putting on socks and bringing my own blanket.! Ha!

I absolutely love this dentistry! I’ve been seeing them for at least 7 years now. I recently moved over an hour away from them and refuse to see anyone else. Worth the drive. They’re patient, understanding, and very caring!

I have been to James River Family Dentistry for several visits now. I highly recommend this practice. It's a small group that gives very personal treatment. They go above and beyond to make it a non-stressful visit and are great about following up to make sure all is well. Dr. Guthrie is very thorough yet gentle and frequently checks to be sure you are still comfortable while she is working on your mouth. But really the whole team is excellent. I feel like personal treatment is their top priority.

My experience during my first visit was awesome. I am happy with the plan to make my smile not only affordable but precise.
