Hemingway House Bed and Breakfast

I would have gave the room 5 stars but it wasn’t what we booked. The photo on line showed a nice room with a dresser, wood floors painted yellow. Our room was blue with carpet and no dresser. So that was disappointing. And it was super small. So with no dresser or closets and no room you literally had to keep your cloths in your suitcase and closed at all times. It is a great location with walking distance to everything. The breakfast was ok. The service was great. And sitting on the porches and watching the people was entertaining. I think we would stay again. But I would really double check if it’s the same as the photo on the website. Because of I would have seen the actual room I probably would not have booked it. The bed was comfortable and the shower was nice and large.

The check-in process was super easy. The staff was very friendly. Our room was not large but suited our needs. It may have been a problem with big luggage. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom upgraded. We had access to a very nice porch we only had to share with one other room. For the price and accommodations, we will be back!!!!

We stayed here for the Night's of Lights. It was awesome how close it is to everything and once we parked our car, we were able to walk everywhere during our stay. There are amazing restaurants close by as well as activities and shopping. We stayed in the Martha Room. The bed was super soft and comfortable and everything was very clean. We also had a balcony with a nice loveseat area to sit and watch the passerby and revelry below. The staff was very helpful and the included breakfast was good.

My husband booked a room at The Hemingway house as a surprise anniversary stay for us. I cannot say enough about our lovely stay! Suite 17 was adorable, bedding was amazing. Breakfast is served at 915am if you’re seated at a table, if not, you can enjoy coffee at anytime of the day and wine is available after 4pm. Location is convenient to all downtown/old town shops, eateries and St Augustine history. We enjoyed late night icecream on the porch. Hosts are accommodating while still respecting your privacy. We had an amazing stay!

Booked a room at the Inn on Charlotte which is immediately next door to the Hemingway House. Did not sleep in room #4 at the Inn on Charlotte on our first night of four. Loud music kept us awake. Met with Ricky in the morning and notified him of our lack of sleep. Ricky was VERY accommodating! It seems that the two B&B's have just recently changed ownership (1 month ago) Ricky showed us several rooms at the Hemingway House that we could relocate. We relocated to the 2nd floor front room with balcony access. We absolutely enjoyed this room. The queen sized bed was sooo comfortable and the balcony was perfect for our evening coffee and reading. We noticed quite a bit of updating going on at these Inns. The new owners are putting effort into making both of these B&B's more comfortable and easier access. Thank you Ricky for the wonderful stay! We look forward to seeing you next year!

We stayed for our wedding elopement. Location was amazing. Staff was super nice and accommodating. They even brought us champagne and strawberries on our wedding day. Such a thoughtful and sweet thing to do. Will be going back for our anniversary!

Amazing location, wonderful staff, very nice rooms and amenities. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to visit St Augustine.

Could not have asked for a better location for the value. Clean, comfortable room with creatively folded towels, plenty of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, private balcony. The mattress was too firm for our taste, however. Polite and accommodating staff. My wife and I arrived early and they had everything ready for us. I appreciate the management’s efficiency. The area felt very safe. The breakfast was good. I would definitely stay here again.

Very clean, well appointed and decorated beautifully for the Christmas holidays. Breakfast was very good each day especially the pumpkin spiced pancakes and vanilla syrup. Owner was very caring and helpful throughout the stay. Parking was close enough and easy to find. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a nice place to stay in St Augustine!

My wife and I had a wonderful 3 night stay!

The property is located in the absolute best spot in town. You can step out the door and in less than a few minutes (even a few steps!) you can walk to some of the best restaurants and bars in St Augustine. We only ever used our car once to drive across the bridge and explore the beach and state park on the island - otherwise you don't need to drive at all!

We lodged in room one at the Hemingway house which was clean, cute, cozy, well appointed, and very well maintained. We especially enjoyed the fact that we could relax and read outside on the balcony if we wanted a few quiet moments.

Breakfast was served every morning and was different and delicious each time! The owners are both excellent cooks and seem to choose dishes seasonally based on availability of fresh and quality ingredients.

The owners were personable, engaging and fun, interacting with us and the other guests out of genuine hospitality and friendliness. They both seem to care very much about their property and the service they provide.

The inn keeper was also extremely hospitable and attentive and was a joy to be around!

We will certainty be back and absolutely recommend this spot highly to anyone looking for a perfectly located and relaxing b&b experience in St. Augustine!

Our stay at Hemingway House was outstanding!
We were within walking distance of many restaurants, attractions, and pretty much everything else. When we told the staff we are vegan, they went out of their way to accommodate us. Each breakfast we had was perfectly prepared. I want to make special mention of Isabel and Christina. They were the absolute best. If we have the opportunity to visit St Augustine again, we wouldn’t consider any other accommodations.

Loved our stay! We spent a long weekend in St. Augustine and we couldn't have picked a better place. The location is central to EVERYTHING, we walked everywhere. The hosts have placed a tremendous amount of time into every detail, from restaurant recommendations, details on the very convenient parking, refreshments readily available, and the menu. The breakfast is delicious, filling and unique each morning. And one last note that I personally appreciated the most, the water temperature of the showers, I was able to enjoy long hot relaxing showers the entire weekend.

Went to St. Augustine for part of our wedding anniversary trip and stayed at this B&B for two nights in the Maria room. The house is very cute and the room was clean with a very spacious bathroom. The owners make delicious breakfast in the rooming where you'll be joined by other guests. The location of this B&B is ideal. Short Walking distance to the best restaurants, bars, and attractions yet not in the middle of the main streets which could get a little loud at night time. Would definitely recommend.

My husband and I loved this B&B! The room was cozy and super comfortable, breakfast each morning was delicious, and the coffee/tea station & stocked refrigerator downstairs were really nice touches. Onsite parking is very convenient. We visited St Augustine to enjoy the Nights of Lights & this B&B has the PERFECT location - we were able to walk to amazing restaurants, live music, historical sites, and boutique shops. The hosts go above and beyond to detail all information about check in/check out and what to do in the area. Very enjoyable stay, we'll be back!

Never having stayed in St Augustine before or any Bed and Breakfast, we could not have picked a better first Bed and Breakfast than the Hemingway House! The location is absolutely perfect, once you park (in the provided parking space, which is a huge plus) prepare to not get in that car again until you leave. You are less than a 5 minute walk from some of the best restaurants, and most, if not all, of the museums. On top of that, Rodney and Jerry are the most hospitable hosts you could ask for. From delicious breakfast, to wonderful lunch/dinner and activity recommendations, they made sure you had an excellent stay. 5 stars, would recommend to anyone and can't wait to stay again!

While most bed and breakfast do not allow children the Hemingway Bed and Breakfast had one room available and it was perfect! We loved the refreshments and snacks upon arrival and the room was so nice and clean. The owners were beyond accommodating and really made our stay perfect. The breakfast was OUT OF THSI WORLD! We will definitely be back!

We had a wonderful experience with a wonderful host. Christian was so friendly and just delightful! Everything was clean and the breakfast was delicious. The location is perfect and within walking distance to anything you would want to do downtown. We would definitely stay again.

We stayed 2 nights and wish we would have stayed longer! Jerry and Rodney (Inn keepers) were extremely inviting! Breakfast was amazingly delicious and the portions were generous! Social hour was great, they offered a variety of drinks. They have coffee, tea, and snacks available at anytime (delicious freshly baked cookies). Tina was super sweet and accommodating! The house and room were clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed the Hemingway Bed and Breakfast and hope to return soon! :)

My Husband and I recently stayed at the Hemingway House for the second time and once again had a great experience. The rooms are nice and clean. Breakfast every morning is delicious. The owners and staff (Tina) are just great people. Really enjoy talking to them and other hotel guests during the daily happy hours. And it’s located near everywhere you want to go. We will definitely be back.

Got there Saturday afternoon. Great little place, it was our first time staying at a bed and breakfast. We had the key west room. Very clean, hospitality was great. The location was perfect, within walking distance of all historic locations and places to eat. Would definitely stay here again!
