After serving two years as Finance Chair appointed by the Florida Secretary of Agriculture I would like to post the following: The AMCD separate district has lowered our tax rate 2 years in a row while expanding service in every part of St. Johns County. In addition we have gone 18 years without a mosquito borne human illness. The last 2 CPA firm audits were very complementary and found no deficiencies. Our aerial program now consists of 3 Bell 206 jet helicopters in mint condition. Mosquito 1 call sign will be used for powder larviciding and Mosquito 2 will handle liquid adulticiding. Mosquito 3 will be used for surveillance sampling in areas that previously required inspectors to enter gator and water moccasin territory. Our outstanding Lab has achieved Good Lab Practices allowing monitoring of our county wide sentinel chicken program without waiting for an off site lab to provide needed data. We have brought lucrative contracts in for EPA product testing and large grants for testing from government agencies helping to reduce taxes. An education building is being constructed and will be available to St. Johns County school kids and college interns promoting entomology. My experience with the staff has earned appreciation for their professionalism and can do attitude. We are very fortunate to have AMCD protecting our citizens.

A few years ago when I submitted an issue with mosquitos, someone was sent and helped control the issue. Now, just a week ago, I submitted my second request. I received an email stating they resolved my issue. I checked my security footage and sure enough someone came by. However, this individual did not announce his arrival nor did he do much besides walk into the preserve before promptly leaving after about 5-10 minutes. I emailed the rweaver address with my concerns on the 5th and have yet to hear back.

Poor service. Nothing was done on Brevard Street when several neighbors asked the tech to fog the street. Taxes wasted!
