Jewish deli inspired restaurant. Reuben sandwich done right, Russian dressing not thousand island. Bagel sandwiches are wonderful. Parking in area can be hard at times.

My team did a team building brunch here and we all enjoyed it. It's quiet enough to have a conversation and I love the interior design. I ordered the matcha blueberry drink and it was great, tasted like a muffin.

Quality is my first impression. Every item I have tried is made with the most quality ingredients you could expect. The tastes are refined and delicious. Add to this that portions are on the healthy side and you will walk away full and happy.

I order corn chowder and a roast beef sandwich 🥪. Needless to say, I would have been satisfied with just the chowder. When my sandwich arrived, I was thinking how am I going to eat this. The matzo ball soup is great. Burgers 🍔 are ridiculously good. Beers 🍻 are nice and ice cold. Everything is delivered with care.

The one thing I want to go back for is breakfast. I can only imagine how unbelievable that must be.

Service can add or detract from a good dining experience. Our server was polite and on point with her service.

There is nothing I can say that isn't good about The General Muir. The place is comfortable, service great and the food wonderful. What more can you ask for?

Edit: As of my last visit on 9/11 they are no longer adding a service charge to dine in orders. The food is as excellent as ever…

So glad they opened a General Muir right across the street from me. Their bagels are huge and piled high with schmear and fish. Their pastrami and liver sandwich on rye is fantastic and the tuna salad is one of my favorites. The portion they give for an order of poutine could easily be shared between four people and the gravy and cheese curds are perfect. Honestly I’ve never had anything bad here. Huge outdoor patio (8 or so 4+ person tables) and a fairly large bar and indoor dining room too. They also do counter service takeout. Just an FYI if you dine in they add a 20% service charge regardless of party size.

I went here with my friend from Connecticut and she loved it. And so did I. We both had the matcha blueberry latte recommended by our server. It was delicious. The blueberry paired beautifully with the matcha and it was creamy and not too sweet. I had the avenue D and it was perfection. Our server was super sweet and knowledgeable on the menu. This is a great spot for breakfast/brunch.

Greatly enjoyed a networking lunch at this newer location in Sandy Springs. Service was quick and very attentive. Food was amazing as expected! Rueben sandwich with matzoh ball soup is a definite favorite and prepared superbly. Location has plenty of convenient underground parking.

This is an amazing spot that is easy to miss. The staff is very friendly and the environment has an upscale vibe. Great lighting and good background music create a comfortable ambiance lead to a relaxed setting for breakfast or brunch with friends or family. A variety of menu options assure that you can choose between some ritzier options, as well as your traditional dishes.

We have a contender for the BEST burger in Georgia. If you remember how H&F used to be, this is even BETTER!!! Try it, you'll love it.

And to continue the BEST of... The cinnamon roll tastes like the way my Grandma used to make them. It's really good. And if you like Cheesecake, Cheesecake Factory has nothing on the Cheesecake here.

I'm pretty happy that we have this place in Sandy Springs now!!!

Okay, so I heard about The General Muir on Diners, Drive-In, and Dives but they aired at the Atlanta location. I’m closer to Sandy Springs and had a window of time late morning. I ordered the Tender, Juicy, Tasty Corned Beef Rueben and Matzo Ball Soup with a side order of Latke. While waiting I enjoyed the mellow jazz music in this modern American styled Jewish Deli and conversed with a friendly employee named Kelly. But I just need to know where that German Chocolate Cheesecake has been all of my life! You know how babies hum when they are eating something they enjoy? Well yes, I was humming! I was! ❤❤❤

Popped in for Saturday brunch. Sat at the bar. Had a delicious NY Deli style meal. Pastrami was excellent & the eggs were perfectly cooked. Can't go wrong with the General Muir.

Back. Highly recommend The General Muir. There are two locations as well!

Updated: 5 stars. We had a party of 4 at 11:15 am on Saturday, August 14, 2021. There was no wait! But by the time we left at 12:45, there was a wait, so go on the earlier side.

For drinks, we got the Bloody Mary ($10), Passion Fruit Bellini ($10), Chai Latte + Espresso Shot & Oat Milk ($7), and Coffee ($3). The only thing that was worth it was the coffee. The Bloody Mary was only topped with pickles. I wouldn’t get it again.

Here’s what we got for food:
- Pastry Basket ($12): 4 pastries. Amazing. Such a good deal too. In order of preference - Brioche Bun, Cheese Danish, Cinnamon Roll, and Coffee Cake. The coffee cake had raisins in it. Not a fan. But everything else, OMG. If you have 3 or more people, I 100% recommend getting the pastry basket.
- Pastrami & Egg Sandwich ($11.75): The only thing I ever get. So good. Beware that it’s heavy. I could only eat half, but I’m excited for leftovers!
- Avenue A ($14): I didn’t have it this time, but was told it was good.
- Side of Latkes ($5): Good!! Comes with sour cream and applesauce.

Kelly was our waitress and she was great! They’re short-staffed, as is everywhere else right now, but they made sure we were taken care of!

Can’t wait to be back!

Original: 5 stars. This review is for takeout only. We placed an online order at 11:30 am on a Saturday. They said it would be ready in 20 minutes and it was!

They are taking Covid precautions very seriously. They’re doing curbside pickup. They are requiring reservations and limiting seating. Employees are wearing masks and they require costumers to wear masks. They have masks available if you do not have a mask.

We got the Pastrami and Egg Sandwich ($11). It’s all I ever get. It’s the best thing on the menu, in my opinion. I dream of this sandwich. It comes with a pickle. Be warned that their pickles aren’t really pickle-y pickles. They’re half sour.

I’m so excited about this new General Muir location! Staff is friendly, service is prompt, and the food is, as always, incredible. Highly recommend!

Surprising and delightful place. The menu is a riff on the New York Jewish Delis of old, but reimagined with a modern menu.
The atmosphere is light and airy and they obviously have a great way of hiring as ever person who came to our table was warm, friendly, and helpful.

I ❤ this place! I have visited the Emory location previously and this was my 1st time visiting this location.

I sat at the counter and chatted w/the bartender. My breakfast of choice was "The General" and it was pure deliciousness! I did ask for my eggs to be "over medium-well" to avoid the jelly substance!

The pastrami was such a great bacon replacement, it was tasty and who doesn't like latkes w/both sour cream & apple sauce?! Mimosas were on deck, no breakfast should ever be w/out it!

Give this place a try, this location is quaint!

This time I remembered to take pictures. If you have ever been to NY then this will bring you back to real pastrami, pickles, cheesecake and more. Hubby had the pastrami hash and you can see the last of my reuben sandwich. Our waiter was great and very knowledgeable. My cocktail was delicious. Please go if you want to eat authentic NY food.

Refined brunch and dining in a New York flair.

I stopped here for a few mornings while I was at a conference in Sandy springs. The first morning, I had the fish and potatoes, which is an odd combination which comes out quite delicious and light for breakfast. On the second morning I had the Smoky hash which is a classic for the general Muir. It was featured on Diners Drive-Ins and Dives.

Food was well-prepared and delicious. The staff was very friendly and quick. The decor is sharp and fresh.

It was a great experience.

A great delicatessen for deli meat sandwiches. I tried both the Reuben sandwich and Pamasaitri and Liver sandwich which were excellent. The poutine and pickled veggies were also delicious. I did take out and the service was friendly and fast. If are you the mood for a giant sandwich this is the place.
