Without sharing our entire journey, we've been let down by provider after provider. I came to see TTLCA with my 2.5 YEAR OLD, after having seen numerous IBCLC, ENT, and others who told us nothing was wrong with my son other than weak cheek tone. Dr. Persaud immediately agreed with what one other provider stated that my son had between a grade 3 and 4 tongue tie which is severe. We decided a revision would not be worth it at this moment, which has NEVER happened. I've never had a provider say "this would be a waste of time and money" while also emphasizing it would probably traumatize my son. I appreciated that so much. We then followed up with a visit with Stephani to evaluate is feeding therapy would be useful and she was also fantastic. My son liked both providers and they were so friendly and welcoming. Neither I nor my son warm up to providers easily but they both were very kind and thorough in their explanations and advice. I felt profoundly heard and cannot recommend this office enough.

Dr. Persaud is an excellent provider and it’s obvious he genuinely cares about doing what’s in the best interest of the patient.

I have been to many many dentists about my daughter’s tongue tie and I’ve received a lot of conflicting advice.

Dr. Persaud was the first provider who took the time to explain everything in a way that made so much sense. He is very conservative in his approach, which I appreciate.

I’m so thankful we found him!

Dr. Persaud, his wife Amelia, and the entire team at TLC are extremely knowledgeable, caring and gentle. Working with them opened my eyes as to how thorough their process really is. No other tongue tie center is as focused on the ENTIRE treatment process from start to finish keeping in mind all physical & mental stress a patient may go through.

They are parents of tongue tied babies which means they know EVERYTHING their patients are going through and can empathize and address all concerns and offer the best solution possible.

We had a great experience here. My son Reid needed tongue / lip / cheek tie revisions done at 2 weeks old, which was an extremely emotional and worrisome thing for a new mom going through the postpartum emotional struggle already. I recommend this practice to everyone that needs it and it was very much worth the commute we had to take from Monroe. The doctor is very gentle and thorough and kind which I appreciated for my son. We specifically appreciated the therapist, I think her name was Deb. She knew what to say to comfort a new mom struggling. I cried in this office more than once over breastfeeding frustrations and she gave comforting advice and encouragement. "Try latching 3 times. If he will not latch after the 3rd time, use the nipple shield and try again at next feeding. Give yourself a little grace". That was phenomenal guidance and eventually he caught on & was breastfed until 13mo old. Please make sure she sees this!!! :)

I cannot thank Dr. Persaud and his team enough for taking such great care of my baby! ! We suspected our baby had a tongue tie and was able to get in with Dr. Persaud the next day after calling his office ! It was determined she had a tongue, lip and right buccal tie! Dr Persaud made sure to properly explain everything and recommended that we go ahead and have the ties corrected since feeding was an issue! We felt comfortable moving forward with the procedure and so glad that we did! Dr Persaud’s office has in house occupational therapists and a lactation specialist which was very nice. After the procedure Dr. Persaud gave us his cell number to call him directly if we needed anything and even called us the next day to check on us! I thought that was very kind of him!

Amy was the occupational therapist that we met with and she was amazing! She gave me so much hope and I looked forward to meeting with her for our weekly post op appointments! Amy was so determined to help our girl learn how to use her tongue post release! Working with kids is not easy but Amy was sooo patient and caring!

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Persaud and his team. My daughter is now able to nurse and overall a happier baby! Worth the long drive and every single penny ! Thank you for everything!

This was our first visit and it was very thorough and to the point. The Dr. Persaud and our OT Stephanie were both very knowledgeable and patient with us and our 12 million questions.

We were able to make an informed decision on getting our daughter’s ties released.

Dr. Persaud and his team are on the cutting edge. From their immense knowledge to their kind hearts- not only do they know exactly what they are doing- but they really care about their patients and the kids. The office is extremely professional and Dr. Persaud and his team always responded to any of my calls and questions immediately. They make you feel comfortable during a difficult time and I cannot recommend them enough!

First and foremost, Dr. Persuad, Amelia and Stephanie are the best of their craft. You are in the BEST of hands if you decided to go to this practice.

My biggest advice is to be your own advocate as I was originally told by an ENT, pediatrician and multiple lactation consultants a myriad of lies - From “There is no tongue tie or lip tie.” to “There is no data that lip ties cause issues with breastfeeding” to even “Ties often resolve on their own when they get older and they fall” and lastly “They would only use scissors to revise her tongue tie.” Something about all of the above just didn’t sit right with me, so on began my journey to find a practice who would have a full scope solution to the problem. I was recommended to get yet another opinion and landed at the Tongue Tie and Laser Center of Atlanta.

Because of my daughter’s revisions, lactation support from Amelia and OT from Stephanie, my journey to exclusively breastfeed is now a reality, and I no longer needed to exclusively pump. Do not let people tell you that “breastfeeding is just not in your cards” if you have the determination and will to do it and with the help of the Tongue Tie Laser Center of Atlanta Team, you most definitively can.

Words cannot explain how amazing, thorough and accommodating everyone is. I make a 2 hour trek each week to see them and can say it is SO worth it. You will not be disappointed!

The doctor is amazing. He has the BEST personality for kids and his bedside manner is wonderful. They explain everything well and even explained the possible emotional outburst that may happen later after the procedure bc of the vagus nerve. It prepared us for how to comfort our little one on the drive home and later that afternoon. I feel very confident that we came to the right place.

Great first impression after a consultation for lip/tongue tie. Dr. Persaud comes across as genuine and is into minimal intervention for maximum results which is what I look for in doctors.

Absolutely couldn’t recommend this place more. They truly take care of you and your babies here. I loved every single person I came into contact while I was here for my 8 week old son. They gave me loads of information at the consult to make my own decision. Once release was done, they made sure I felt comfortable doing everything (including stretches) and made sure to answer all my questions. Truly a great place to get lip ties and tongue ties released.

This practice will change your life in the most amazing ways. It is a prime example of how a medical practice should operate with holistic care and the patient at the center of everything they do. Our son immediately struggled to latch after he was born. Our pediatrician, well intentioned of course, said he did not see any ties. But that couldn’t be further from the truth. (Lesson learned for all: Beware of asking your pediatrician to diagnose oral ties! They are not specialized to do so!) The pain was intense for mom, the frustration was intense for baby, and the exhaustion was intense for us all. We knew something was wrong and were desperate to ensure mom and baby could exclusively breastfeed per our family’s goals. For the first 2 weeks of life, we worked with an IBCLC, who noted the presence of ties but first sent us to cranio-sacral therapist for a few sessions. That cranio-sacral therapist, along with our pediatric chiropractor, then referred us to the Tongue Tie Laser Center of Atlanta. Both providers were intimately familiar with Dr. Persaud’s & Amelia Persaud’s practice. All I can say is *thank goodness* our path led us to them. They truly changed our lives and turned our breastfeeding journey from a nightmare into a daydream. They are truly incredible at what they do, and rating the team with a 5 is an understatement.

Prior to the tongue and lip tie release, our son couldn’t properly latch and his tongue did not reach the top of his mouth. At 3 weeks old, Dr. Persaud released his ties while Amelia taught us basic OT fundamentals and everything in between to ensure we had a holistic care plan in place. Our sessions were a mix of playtime, mobility work, and baby massage. We learned gentle exercises and stretches to continue at home between sessions over the course of 1 month. Their team instilled in us the importance of adopting a holistic approach to frenectomies, including pre- and post-therapy. We continued to see our chiropractor to address muscle tension that was also impacting feeding, and Amelia collaborated with our LC and any other provider we wanted to consult.

I appreciated their honesty, authenticity, and extreme level of care – for our son as their patient and for us as his parents. Instead of just recommending surgery for the sake of it, Dr. Persaud and Amelia walked us through the long-term importance & impacts of proper palette development and proper breathing (how to look out for and address mouth breathing). They explained how the tie releases alongside pre- and post-therapy would support our son’s health over his lifetime, and help us achieve our goal of exclusive breastfeeding over the first few years of life. And, they appropriately connected these recommendations/insights to our son's specific needs and care plan. For example: he had buccal ties, as well, but Dr. Persaud determined we did not need to address them. Moral of this example is that they are thoughtful and conscientious about their care - they are not looking to do a frenectomy for the sake of doing it.

The Tongue Tie Laser Center of Atlanta was the best thing we did for our son, and for ourselves. One tip is to be sure to set your expectations (and they will help with this) that it may not be an immediate magic fix… but the magic does happen after persistence and dedication to doing the exercises and therapy they will teach you. I remember feeling on the edge of defeat in those first 3 weeks of my son’s life – but they supported us through thick and thin in order to help us achieve our breastfeeding goals. About 5 weeks post-op, breastfeeding became smooth sailing (I really did not believe it was possible given what we had gone through at the beginning!) and we are still nursing 22 months later :D

Parents, look no further and don’t give up. The Persauds are superheroes.

Good afternoon Dr. Persaud. My daughter was your patient about 6 months ago. We never had the last follow up virtual visit. I just wanted to update you that after about 6 months of hard work and triple feeding (as often as possible, but definitely not each feeding), my daughter has started refusing bottles and is exclusively nursing. She’s almost 8 months now and her pediatrician said she’s following her growth curve like a champ and is doing great. Thanks for taking great care of her and walking us through the tongue tie revision process.

We didn’t have my son looked at until he was almost 2. Now at 2.5 years old and 1 month post revision. We have already noticed so many changes. His speech is getting better. Breastfeeding feels different ( it was never painful) but feels so nice. He is eating foods better as well. We have loved all the staff the Dr. Persuad.

Oh what words do I say about TTLC of ATL…. I’ll kick it off with, they legitimately saved my baby and gave my husband and I the baby he was meant to be. Perhaps not in a literal sense, but the severity of our sons tie was so high that we (very sadly) feel robbed of the joys of first time parenthood because we just didn’t know what we didn’t know.

We started down the rabbit hole of tongue ties because our son, who was 12 weeks old at this point, dealt with inconsolable crying. We had been told by so many friends and family, “oh babies cry a lot” or “this is normal newborn behavior”. Parents… trust your gut. If you think your baby is crying a lot, they probably are. And I refused to believe that my baby was crying for no reason.

Initially, no one speculated a tie before we went to TTLC of ATL because our breastfeeding journey was a breeze. I had no pain. He was gaining weight. My supply was pretty normal (a little bit of an over supply), so it got missed by both the lactation consultant in the hospital and the pediatrician.

I decided to get another opinion, and Caroline, the SLP at TTLC of ATL, speculated a tie immediately. Shortly after his diagnosis, Caroline but referred us to Amelia, the OT, because my son would not stop crying in those first couple of appointments. We couldn’t address the tie because we couldn’t get him to stop crying. That’s when Amelia explained to us the impact that ties and body tension has on the nervous system and babies ability to regulate themselves. It was at this point (1-2 appointments before the release) that the light bulb went on and suddenly it all made sense. The tie was restricting his typical motor functions such as head turning/proper use of the tongue, and tummy time was pure misery because the tension from his tongue tie was restricting his ability to relax in this position.

After the release, things got a little worse initially, but we are officially a month post-op and my god I feel like I have the baby we were meant to have. He’s happy. He self regulates 10x quicker than he used to. He loves tummy time. And he’s on track to hit all of his developmental milestones. We put a great deal of effort into his therapies at home (upwards of 3-4 30-minute sessions per day doing all the exercises that Amelia had us doing), so I would encourage parents with tongue tie babies to do the same. The more exposure they have to therapy, the quicker you’ll see results. Do. What. They. Say. You won’t regret it!!

I can’t thank Tongue Tie Laser Center of ATL enough. This truly changed everything for us and for our baby.

I don’t have enough good things to say about everyone at the Tongue Tie Laser Center of Atlanta! I took my 2 week old here to have his tongue tie evaluated and he had his release shortly after. Dr. Persaud was so attentive and explained the procedure so well and Amelia was so kind and helped immensely with my little one after the procedure. The staff is so kind and caring. I’m so thankful to them for helping my little boy be happy and healthy!

Tongue-tie Laster Center is an AMAZING practice. My son is 4 days old and had a repair to fix a tongue, lip, a and cheek tie. From day 1 the OT took so much time and attention to explain everything to us. The doctor did the same and the lactation consultant. They all 3 were patient, loving and so kind. The repair took about 10 minutes and the lactation consultant stayed with us and answered all our questions, even on a Friday afternoon! The doctor called us that night to check on us! We’re so blessed and fortunate to have found this practice and my son is already feeding better! We have follow up appointments schedule and I think their level of care is spectacular. Jennifer at the front desk is awesome too! She got us in THAT week and they got his repair schedule that same week as well! Amazing care! 100/10 would recommend!

I can’t speak more highly of this practice. Dr. Persaud, Amelia, and the front desk staff made my feel so safe and reassured from the very beginning. I’d been researching tongue ties for a bit, but never expected the relief I’ve had since having my release. It’s changed so many aspects of my life, my only regret is not knowing about this before adulthood. I found this practice through my own research and I cannot recommend their office enough, what an incredible experience! Thank you so much for all you do.
