Westmoreland & Slappey Animal Hospital

We saw Dr. Slappey while on a trip from Cleveland, Ohio to Perry for a dog show. My Standard Poodle, Journey, had started coughing overnight, so we called to get an appointment the next morning. Not fun when your best buddy is sick on the road. Dr. Slappey and his staff were wonderful, handled my boy with kid gloves and were so nice. He’s a nervous boy and they did everything slowly and gently so they wouldn’t need a muzzle. He did great and got some medications that helped quickly. 100% recovery and now he’s back to normal and living his best dog life. I can 100% recommend this vet hospital for your fur babies.

On our travels home from Florida, our dog started to not feel well. We were on our way to a campground near Perry, GA and started looking for a Veterinarian practice close to where we were staying. We did a quick online search and found the Westmoreland & Slappey Veterinary Hospital. My wife called to see if they could see our dog. They worked us in and we could not be more please. Everyone was so nice and accommodating. Dr. Westmoreland treated us and our dog as if we had been long time patrons. We can’t that them enough.

Our 4 dogs have been patients of Westmoreland and Slappey Animal Hospital for 7 years. They have always been very good to our girls. When Sadie got very sick after her last chemo treatment she spent 24 hours in the emergency clinic. Dr. Smith took over her care the following morning. She is very caring and compassionate. She took the best care of Sadie and shared the treatment details with her oncologists. I cannot thank her enough.

I called last week after my regular vet couldn't see my dog Speckles. She was in pretty rough shape. They never treated me like an inconvenience and they tried to save my girl but she unfortunately didn't make it. They handled everything with the greatest love and compassion I have ever seen a veterinarian give. There was no judgment, just compassion and understanding. She had been with me for 16 years. I found her after someone dumped her. She was there when I graduated high school and college, met my husband, had my daughter and when my dad passed. Speckles was very special to me and they did everything they could. When I had to decide what to do, they handled it with love and compassion. I'm thinking of transferring all my pets to them, I need someone who can be there in the event of an emergency. I also love that there was no judgment that I couldn't afford a whole lot. I especially love the pawprint they gave me from Speckles. If I could give them 100 stars I would. Very compassionate, friendly and helpful.

Here at Westmoreland & Slappey they are super kind and welcoming, very helpful with any questions or concerns we had. They treated each puppy with care during their first visit check up while giving their first round of shots. These little guys are all AKC registered and Embark tested, it was an added peace of mind that they have a wonderful veterinary team to help keep them healthy while growing. 100% definitely recommend!

I have 2 dogs that see Dr. Katelyn Martin. She is amazing! Always takes the time to answer any questions I may have, I never feel rushed out the door. She is down to earth and honest about our dogs care (weight management). She as well as the techs are always understanding and patient when my fur kids come in. They always help ease the fear and anxiety they may have. Everyone is so friendly and nice. I couldn't imagine them receiving care any other place. Thank you for always looking after Jameson and Bella.

This was the 5th veterinarian I called to check out our suddenly vomiting, lethargic almost 1 1/2 year old fur baby dog. (I was so distressed by then)They said we could bring her in. Was able to get there and checked out by Dr. Slappy. All was well overall, we would monitor her for any future issues. Can't say enough about the very professional staff whom helped us and Dr. Slappy was very thorough explaining possible issues at hand. I can't thank you all enough for fitting us in. We didn't know if our baby was dying at the time. Great animal lovers working there and so sincerly kind. Thank you all so much again.(So much more to say but that's it in a nutshell)

Friendly animal doctor with caring staff. They have helped me take my dog’s allergies to the world. When she got bitten by the Timber rattler they took her in 10 min before closing and took the best care of her.
I’ve been going there for over 7 years and will continue to take my dog there.

We needed to see a vet asap with medical concerns for my dog. Dr.Slappey saw us within a couple days and took great care of him. There was no pushing for unnecessary expensive tests or treatments and no judgment. He and the assistant took care of him like they knew him forever. The front desk and assistants are very nice and helpful. Would definitely recommend this office.

Highly recommend! I called on a Friday morning after my regular vet could not see my yorkie due to being "too busy". She was very sick! These guys were very courteous on the phone and never treated me like an inconvenience. They had us come in right away. Unfortunately the treatment wasn't really working as well as we all hoped and our pup was still feeling pretty bad, so on Monday morning they saw us right away again! They kept our pup for several hours, and were very thorough with testing. They determined she had pancreatitis! Dr. Martin called and explained everything to me in great detail. She went over exactly what tests they did and what they found, then laid out the treatment plan. They left no stone unturned and probably saved my dogs life. I am so glad my other vet was "too busy", because we have found our forever vet!

Dr. Slappey was kind, courteous, and thorough in his diagnosis and treatment.

The front desk experience was delightful, checking in and especially checking out.

Always takes wonderful care of our babies and remembers them from visit to visit! We love it here! This was our little guy after his sick visit, not feeling 100% but how cute!

Scott Westmoreland has been my vet since I moved to Georgia from California in 1992. He worked for another vet at the time but when he opened his own practice I quickly moved my business there. The staff is always friendly and the care our animals receive is top notch. When the inevitable happens and we have to say goodby to one of our pets we've always been treated with care and compassion.

Book with Dr. Slappey! Took me months and trying multiple vets until I found Dr. Slappey. He explains everything to me, answers my questions, he listens to my concerns, he treats my babies with care and love.

The doctors and staff are phenomenol. They love on my fur babies and provide excellent care. They understand the financial needs of the customer and don't overcharge their customers.

I have used Scott Westmoreland for over twenty years. He is an excellent veterinarian that genuinely cares about your pet. He examined my dog for me over twenty years ago before I purchased her, I liked his thoroughness and easy demeanor with her. I do not live in the Perry area but drive about an hour for her appointments. It is definitely worth the time spent driving! Definitely recommend!
