A Chateau on the Bayou Bed & Breakfast

A lovely stop in Houma where we were treated like royalty by Claudette at the "Chateau on the Bayou".
The rooms are very comfortable, and the breakfast is hearty and homemade. If you stop here, don't forget to enjoy the garden and the terrace overlooking the river. A soothing and very pleasant place halfway through our journey from New Orleans to Miami.

It was a pleasure staying at Ms. Claudette’s Bed & Breakfast. She was a fabulous host and made sure we had everything we needed. Our son absolutely loved the hammock! It was nice to sit at the pavilion and relax. If you ever visit, give Ms. Claudette a call.

Miss Claudett has been a wonderful host during our 4 day stay. The Chateau B&B is a perfect location to view this wonderful area. There is so much to see and do, and Miss Claudett is a great host in making suggestions. We highly recommend staying here on the bayou.

A Chateau on the Bayou is an oasis of pure comfort and relaxation about a half an hour away from New Orleans. I struggle to think of any reason not to stay there. The Host is a kind hearted person who knows the area so you can expect a warm welcome as well as highly usefull information for your stay. Five stars, no doubt.

Six of us, two families, were comfortably accommodated with room for bigger groups. My family stayed in the upstairs bedrooms which were quiet and beautifully decorated, with everything we needed. Charming and everything tip top clean. The kitchen is open and welcoming for breakfast. The showstopper is the back yard—a deep porch with rocking chairs, multiple seating areas, shaded dock with seating, rocking chairs, swing, and a hammock between two trees for someone who just wants to hang out. Plenty of parking. Claudette makes elegant, delicious breakfasts from scratch, and bent over backward to accommodate our vegan and vegetarian family members. Truly a lovely person who shares her beautiful home. Ideal location for visiting amazing multiple historic sugar cane plantations nearby, and popping into New Orleans and surrounding areas.

We had a wonderful stay here! The rooms are very comfortable and clean with everything you could need. Claudette our host is lovely with loads of great recommendations for the area and she makes an awesome breakfast! Would definitely recommend!

I am a return guest. Beautiful home and a wonderful hostess. The Château on the Bayou is very peaceful. I saw an eagle having my coffee one morning. This was my second stay and the room, food, and hospitality were wonderful. I stayed in the outside room and it was wonderful. Coffee, water, Claudette, and special touches make this one of my favorite places to stay.

A little slice of heaven! What a treasure on the bayou- Claudette is an amazing host specializing in southern hospitality. She was a gem to visit with and cooks up a lovely breakfast in the morning. Claudette really cares about making her guests comfortable and providing them with an experience they won't soon forget. She takes great pride in her home and property, and you can't help but be charmed by her, the landscape, and the bayou towns surrounding it. We highly recommend this Bed & Breakfast for couples.

The room was cozy and just what we needed, also dog friendly! Claudette was an amazing host. She left us nice breakfast snacks in the room and she was very informative on places to visit. If you don't know where adventure lies just ask Claudette. The country around Raceland is very beautiful and the people are genuine and sweet.

My boyfriend and I stayed here at Chateau on the Bayou while visiting Louisiana for the first time. When we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by our amazing host Claudette. She was very friendly and always made sure that we and had everything that we needed and more.

The house is absolutely beautiful and also extremely comfortable! Everything was always clean. Breakfast was delicious and freshly cooked every morning.

What a pleasant getaway for my husband & me! Our 3 night stay with Claudette at her b&b was just what we needed to relax & enjoy a time away from life’s responsibilities.
From her warm welcome to our early departure with fresh brewed coffee, Claudette was a superb hostess.
I’ve never slept in a more comfortable bed. The breakfasts were tasty. The rocking chairs on the porch facing the bayou & lovely landscape were so relaxing I didn’t want to leave to go sightseeing; however, we did go & enjoyed the restaurants & sights she suggested.
We ended our last day being chauffeured by Claudette to purchase local fresh produce & Cajun sausage then a fabulous sunset airboat ride.

We started our one week holiday in Louisiana by staying for 2 days at Claudette's Chateau on the Bayou. Claudette has been a wonderful hostess, doing her very best to make our stay as pleasant, comfortable and interesting as possible. She took a lot of her time to make recommendations for places to visit, tours, restaurants. The rooms are very nice and beds very comfortable. Breakfast was home cooked, generous and delicious. Claudette even offered us a glass of wine for welcome !
We loved everything at the Chateau on the Bayou including Claudette's two adorable cats.

We had such a lovely stay with Claudette at A Chateau on the Bayou. She was the most kind and thoughtful hostess. The room was lovely and clean. We very much enjoyed the new pavilion next to the Bayou, relaxing in the rocking chairs after a busy day touring the countryside. Claudette was very attentive to our breakfast and easily made adjustments to our dietary needs. We would definitely stay here again.

We had such a lovely 2 night stay here with our 14 month old daughter. Claudette was so welcoming and made us feel at home straight away. Nothing was too much trouble for her - she was so helpful recommending places to visit and booking tours for us. We were sad to leave! The room was lovely as well and the home cooked breakfast was delicious. Would highly recommend!

We enjoyed our stay at "A Chateau on the Bayou". Ms. Claudette , our hostess, made us feel right at home. The homemade breakfast was delicious. We had a lovely breakfast casserole served with piping hot biscuits, yogurt and fresh fruit. Ms. Claudette is very accommodating and is more than willing to help you with dinner suggestions or nearby places to visit. The covered deck area was a great place to sit and visit while taking in the bayou view. Thank you Ms. Claudette for the most enjoyable visit!🙂

Our stay was absolutely great. Ms. Claudette was a hot and was very informative about things to do and places to eat in the area. If you follow her advice, you will have an amazing time. The rooms were comfy and clean and the view from the back porch was very nice. Breakfast was delicious as well! We will be back.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Chateau on the Bayou B&B for a week. Ms. Claudette was a wonderful host and bent over backwards to make sure I was taken care of and the accommodations were top notch yet very affordable. The house is beautiful, very quaint and full of southern charm. Ms. Claudette made me feel very comfortable and right at home. Because the Chateau is located just a few miles from the highway, it was easy to drive around to neighboring towns and even north to New Orleans. I definitely would recommend taking time to visit with Ms. Claudette and enjoy a stay at the Chateau on the Bayou B&B. I hope to visit again some day!

This was the fist time my wife and I have stayed in a true bed and breakfast and extremely happy that we chose Chateau on the Bayou. Claudette was a great host. Extremely friendly atmosphere and the place is spotless. The bed in our room was the most comfortable bed I have slept in while not at home. The breakfast was delicious. We enjoyed our stay and our visit with Claudette. We will definitely stay here again if we are ever back in the atea.
