The Capital Grille

We came here for Valentine's Day and I was gifted a card from Christmas I remembered to use but I would gladly have paid fully if we didn't. That's how exceptional the service, food, and atmosphere was here!

We had a reservation for 8pm and we arrived a bit before. We did not wait long to be seated, even though there was 1000 guests there last night (literally) our server David told us. Everything was wonderful once we got seated. Even the lady that fills our water and brought us bread before we got to David was super sweet and helpful. She also helps with table prep for the next guests.

They brought all the ladies a single white rose during their meals, which was a very nice touch and two chocolate covered strawberries which were ripe and juicy. My girlfriend and I enjoyed everything we had from my steak and lobster tails that were very nicely done and flavorful but not too over cooked, to the mashed potatoes which were creamy and delicious.

Then we got our drinks, which I enjoyed but I had to switch out once because one of them was not to my liking. David was very understanding and accommodating. He was a pleasure to have last night and we hope our tip reflected his great service. He was very knowledgeable and attentive. He made sure to get us our food quickly and checked on us throughout the night.

Then we ordered dessert. I got coconut cream pie which was scrumptious!! I didn't even want to finish it I took it home it was so beautifully done and delicious OMG. My girlfriend had the creme brulee which had vanilla bean in it you could see the specs of vanilla bean in the actual creme brulee. The fruit was fresh and delicious as well on her dish.

To top everything off they had beautiful arrangements of flowers all over and a wine cabinet that really complemented the space well showcasing the sophistication and elegance of this place.

I had heard great things and seen great things on their website and I can tell you with 100% certainty they do not disappoint everyone that we came into contact with throughout our night was super helpful and nice to deal with. They even told us as we were leaving to have a great night and they weren't the ones that helped us.

This place really sets a standard for what you should want and expect from a fine dining experience!

Stunning restaurant, amazing food, exceptional service. Definitely a great happy hour, date night, or anniversary restaurant. I really enjoyed all the dishes and cocktails and will have to come back.

I ordered more than I should but have no complaints. The steak was cooked just right, tender, and juicy and I made sure to get the crab meat and butter with it. The lobster Mac and cheese had generous portions of lobster. And the fries were crispy but still had that soft center, the stuff dreams are made of. Admittedly it’s going to be on the pricy side, so take that into consideration. So more of a celebration spot than an every day meal. But definitely worth it.

I went here the other day for a birthday celebration. We were a party of six. David was our server and was absolutely fantastic. He was incredibly attentive, walked us through the menu, day's specials and kept us informed on the progress of our orders. Since it was a birthday celebration, he even serenaded us with a "Happy Birthday" in Italian. He will definitely be my requested server whenever I go back. In terms of the food, the bread was warm, the salads were crisp, and the steaks and fish were cooked perfectly.

I would definitely recommend anyone reading this review come give this place a try. Ask for David, order a ribeye, and treat yourself to the creme brulee cheesecake!

My recent visit to Capital Grille was absolutely unforgettable, thanks in large part to the exceptional service provided by Heather and Alfredo. They went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of our dining experience was perfect, from their warm greetings to their attentive care throughout the meal.

And speaking of the meal, the food was simply divine. Each dish was expertly prepared and beautifully presented, but the highlight for me was definitely the cheesecake and chocolate cake. They were absolute delights that left a lasting impression.

In conclusion, I can't recommend Capital Grille highly enough. With its delicious food, impeccable service, and welcoming atmosphere, it's truly a dining experience not to be missed.

We ordered filet mignon was delicious and jumbo shrimp appetizers, we drank bohemian coctel and mojito passion fruit the best, and the service was impressive by Mykaela we are so happy to choose this restaurant in Chevy Chase

I went to celebrate my birthday and was truly amazed with the service. It was our first fine dining experience and it was a lovely place to celebrate and gather. Our waiter was a young man that made sure that all of our needs and wants were met. I think his name is Bran, he was a stand out of the service we received, and we were very pleased from start to finish. The food was immaculate, every course had nothing but rave reviews from our table. Overall very pleased with our experience from being greeted at the door by the hosts to the upstanding service of the hard working staff. I would recommend, time and time again.

Came here to celebrate graduation with my family and had a great time. We ordered the Caesar salad and Calamari for starters and both were excellent. As for my main I got the boneless ribeye (medium rare) and it was cooked to perfection. Both the mashed potatoes and truffle fries were excellent sides and they even gave me a little dessert for my graduation. I will definitely be back again!

On our last day in DC we wanted a really nice early dinner. We stumbled on the Capital Grille on our way and could not have been more pleasantly surprised. The food was fantastic but our server, Akim was phenomenal. He provided excellent suggestions and was super attentive. After 5 days in this city, his service was superior than all the other service combined.

Went here to celebrate our anniversary, and our waiter David went out of his way to make it a special experience. We were very happy with everything.

My wife and I celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary here together and were doted on like a king and queen. If you’re looking for a memorable experience, The Capital Grille is the place to be.

I absolutely loved the refined, yet welcoming atmosphere. Coupled with an amazing and attentive staff for the front of the house, our night was perfect to say the least. Abdul was exactly what I want in a server; personable, efficient, and not overly fussy. Abdul is hands down one of the best servers I’ve had in my dining experiences. We were also greeted by two of the managers who were very kind in wishing us a happy anniversary.

The food. OMG the FOOD!!! Started with the Korean influenced pork belly and the tuna tartare. I don’t think a better pairing exists and I would/will most likely go back just to have drinks and eat these appetizers again. Amazing. My wife had a scallop and risotto dish that was to “simply to die for”, her words lol that was created by the Sous Chef Benton. I had the bone in veal tomahawk chop and I couldn’t have been more happy. Absolutely delicious. A myriad of sides to accompany with dessert/espresso at the end, what more could we ask for?

I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. You will not be disappointed. Absolutely stunning execution and attention to detail across the board. Thank you to everyone for making our anniversary “our night”. Can’t wait to see all of you again soon.

I treated my high school buddy to an early birthday dinner. Capital Grille gave two long-time friends time to catch up and just be boys. Don't think about it, just go! I promise you'll enjoy it.

What an incredible dining experience! Excellent service from our server Abdul and manager Scott who made us feel like celebrities from the wine selection recommendations to the complimentary drinks and dessert. We highly recommend coming here for any celebration, as the staff will make it memorable for years to come.

My friends and I always get the best service no matter if we sit in the dining room or bar. The steaks are perfect every time. The servers and bartenders are just fantastic. This location hits all the right notes.

I’ve been going to this location for about 4 years now and it’s stayed consistent throughout that time. I would describe Capital Grille as an old time favorite. You want excellent service? Do you want to leave satisfied? Want to be treated with the upmost respect? Go to this Capital Grille location. One of my favorite dishes (and the reason why I always go back) is the lobster Mac and cheese. Yes I could very much have that for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and a mid night snack because LET ME TELL YOU. It is absolutely DELICIOUS.
The only thing I would say is that the parking is a bit tough and prepare to walk. Otherwise, what a great experience every time.

At a time when our country is just beginning to open, this was a great experience! Our server was so patient and helpful. They maintained proper distancing at all times. Mask were worn by all staff. And clean hand stations were place around the restaurant. And The food was like something from heaven 😋

The ambiance food was exceptional and so were the drinks ( mojito is a must have!!) The waiter and stuff was so welcoming! I enjoyed my surprise birthday dessert!! Will definitely be back!!

Every time I find myself in the DC area, I love going here. The pretzel appetizer is the best.

We had a Birthday Lunch at Capital Grill in Bethesda. We were greeted at the entrance, wished Happy Birthday and escorted to our table. The table was decorated for my birthday. The food is excellent. Charles, our waiter spent time helping us. Birthday dessert was presented with a candle. Have a wonderful experience. Highly of recommend Capital Grill.

Came here to celebrate a special occasion and made requests & reservation online. Not sure if it was the early dinner time but our server was really nice & attentive. Made suggestions since it was our first time. And servers that passed our table even offered to take our pics. Ordered calamari, rib eye, salmon, truffle fries & mash potatoes. And we were not disappointed, it was all really good. Complimentary dessert was so good too. We had a wonderful time & experience. Would go there again.

My experience at Capital Grille was amazing!!! I don't know why it took this long for us to visit. My husband and I had dinner last night and everything was delicious. The lamb chops were so tender and fell off the bones. The brussel sprouts were also my favorite. Well seasoned and very tasty. The Capital Grille is our new fav restaurant!!!
