We rented one of the smaller cabins and found it to be clean and comfortable and had a half bath, microwave, and fridge. The bathhouse was just across from us and it was also clean. Some reviews were negative but I was impressed with the whole park. Beautiful pool, close to many attractions, quiet, and friendly. This is where I'm going from now on. One fun surprise was a little band of chickens wandering around the park. I loved them!!!

This was our first time here. We were n premium meadows with a 43 ft fifth wheel. It was not that hard to back in but we didn’t have anyone across from us the day we arrived. We stayed 7 days. It really is a must to get a golf cart. You could get away with bringing bikes. There is so much to do here you don’t even need to go to Disney. There are pools, horseback riding, crafts, movies, rec area at pool and food trucks. A bus will take you to different parks and some resorts. You can also take the bus to a couple areas of FW.
CON: They do not post a bus schedule. Just plan on them coming about every 20 minutes,

We had such an amazing time staying here! We loved our cute little cottage and everyone was super friendly. One maintenance person (Carl) even fixed my flat tire! The pool was sparkly clean and the game room was great. We even met Toby the cat who I am told is the mascot of the park!

From my experience at Ford Wilderness, they are always looking for additional entertainment activities to add and are always trying to ensure that the guests have a wonderful experience. When issues do arise, steps are immediately taken to ensure whatever the issue is can be resolved within the same day or up to a maximum of 1.5 days if they need to use outside companies. When encountering the staff, I have always been greeted happily and am asked if everything is going well. As for the entertainment, the pool, dog park, and game room are always available and is kept clean by the staff on a day-to-day basis. My personal favorite part of Fort Wilderness is the acceptance of pets and the quietness of the park to have the best and more realistic camping experience. Although it is always fun to talk to neighbors, have a good time with friends, or simply relax to the sounds of nature or a nice campfire, Fort Wilderness is my personal recommended go-to campground for all traveling needs.
P.S. It is only 10 minutes or less from the nearby Casino and is close, yet far enough, for easy highway access without all the noise from traffic.

My wife and I recently stayed here for two months, this is by far the best site we've stayed on. If you value peace and tranquility with first class facilities and customer service this is the place for you. On clear nights we sat under the stars gazing at the sky. One of the highlights of our trip was a long walk in the mountains and in fact this place is part of a civil war battleground and has the civil war cementaty in a little walk from the site. We were assisted in planning by the site owner (Cindy) and there are far more scenic places a short journey away. Wildlife is all around the site and we saw many species of birds and sightings of deer! Can't wait to return Thanks Cindy for making us so welcome. Chris G Brooks

We had a great time at this campground. After a bit of a shaky start, our assigned site was not big enough for our motorhome and box trailer, we moved to the site right next to it and all was great. Even in a very busy season, the people who run the place were exceptionally friendly and accommodating, willing to go out of their way to make sure our stay was good. Our caps off the Shannon, Rachel and Ed for going out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. This camp ground is literally in a rainforest, which makes it very rustic. We were there in the fall and the leaves are changing and the colors are spectacular. I imagine the summer is equally as nice, shaded and cool under the tree canopy. Given the amount of rain we had this past winter, the grounds could probably go for a bit of upkeep, but my 5 star review is because we have been all across the country, and yes, there are many places that may be in a bit better shape, but I have not found another where the staff who run the place were as thoughtful, accommodating, kind and concerned for our comfort and given the exceptionally reasonable price, this place is a true find. The proximity to the Blue Ridge and Smokey Mountains and all they have to offer make this an ideal spot for a weekend jaunt or a few weeks riding through the mountains and towns in the area. Also, noteworthy, this campground is very peaceful and quite, particularly at night making for an exceptional nights rest, bathrooms and laundry were clean, the whole place is very child friendly with a lovely playground and very nice pool area and it's pet friendly. One word of caution, make sure you know your rig size when booking as some of the sites are small and people booking online may not realize their rig may not fit. My advice is to call the campground directly and speak with Cindy the owner or Shannon her trusty sidekick!

Spent 5 days here in our motorhome. Blissfully quiet and very pet friendly. If you are looking for a fancy RV resort, this is not for you. If you are content with a quiet, tree filled campground with friendly responsive owners then this is perfect. Close to the casino, shops and amenities.
I will definitely stay here again.

A very family oriented place with lots of fun things to do. Put down your cell phones & get back to nature with this place. Cabins were cozy. We stayed in a small cabin it had a small kitchenette & a bed with a toilet. There was no hot water only cold. It had an a/c unit but no heater. No complete bath in the smaller cabins. (Lessons learned lol!!) For future visits we'll get the cabin deluxe. They do have a public 'bath house'. Though we made the best of it & had a great time. The staff was all very friendly & accommodating.
What made our visit nice, we came prepared with extra blankets & a portable heater. It got quite chilly in the cabin but we were toasty with our creature comforts that we brought from home.
2019- Additional Comments- we stayed in this cabin & we loved it.

I've stay for the weekend with my wife in a little cozy cabin, quiet, clean and the ac works pretty well for this time of the season, the cabin have 1/2 bathroom and next to the reception is the bathhouse, clean very well maintained and yes you have your own privacy, the pool it is well kept clean area to sit and watch your kids having fun in the water meanwhile you read a book surrounded by birds chanting all over, it has a small area with some exercising equipment like stationary bike, some weights too!!! And air hockey table and some arcades.
The camping area is very clean and you will not find not a piece of paper on the road, the lady at the front desk is amazing, she'll help you with any needs and also she can guide you on where to eat nice steaks or have tasteful beers.
Over all 5 0f 5 for what you pay it is a awesome place to stay for a short or long period. Ahh I almost forgot it is pet friendly!!!!

My boyfriend and I are not camping type people. So being in a cabin without a shower was like glamping for us. But the bed was super comfy. Better than hotels we stayed in. We did bring extra pillows with us and a blanket. Did get cold. But we left the air conditioner on to high. Lol And it was nice sitting on the covered porch seeing the stars. Very peaceful. Would stay again and just pay extra for the deluxe cabin with the shower. The female owner we met was super friendly. The place was very clean and kept up.

We just stayed ther and the new Campground Manager Jess and Sarah were very courteous and helpful. The campground looked very well manicured and the managers did what ever they could to make sure our stay was the best. Nice bath house and laundry room. The pool was the best and there were no adverse situations. Even the owner checked in on us.

A very nice family campground! On site laundry facilities, swimming pool and a great walk around campground! Everyone is very nice and helpful! Would recommend any of the deluxe cabins!! The smaller cabins are very cute too and a clean bath house is also available!! They love pets as well which helps when you have furbabies!!

Rented a cabin for 3 days, as it's close to my job at the Park Service. Pet Friendly 👍Very pleased, only exception is the bathroom, which is a commode in a closet basically lol Staff is super nice, must use bath house for showers, it is similar to camping.😊

What can I say every time I go back I can't wait to make it back. From the horseback rides to the trail to the small Beach there's plenty to do at the Campground. But there's even more amenities from the buses to the well-kept Comfort stations and then the transport back and forth to Magic Kingdom and all the other Parks makes us a great value. Nothing's better than being so close to the action of being outside and having campfires at night.

This is the best way to stay at Disney IMO. Don't have a camper or don't want to haul yours cross country? Rent one and it'll be set up n ready when you arrive. The cottages they have there are great too. Forget the hotels!! Take the boat right to the Magoc Kingdom or Epcot.

We had a great camping experience here the staff and campers were great to my family. The bus drivers from park to park were out standing and helpful. Had one night of loud frogs after a rain storm but then again we are camping in the woods🇺🇸

Very accommodating for us, we arrived in the area with out reservations on Labor Day weekend. Office personnel found us a spot to stay for 6 days and we were very appreciative.

Quiet park off the beaten path.

We always stay here in our RV. Clean, reasonable, and buses pass by to front ir lake every seven minutes or so. Restrooms and showers are cleaned constantly and the whole campground is beautiful. Nightly movies ir light parade on the lake.
