This place out of all the state institutions I’ve been to was supposedly privately run the hospital was kind of mismanaged , but the staff made up for it.My man on my unit Mr. Virgil, Stephanie the nurse who gave out meds was also a good one, and I cannot forget, my friend Chesica also on night shift and the sister with the locks in the daytime shift thanks for your caring time and concern. I’m doing better and I’m having my bourbon. Special shout out to the music therapy ladies you made my day listening to music very special. If you can’t say nothing else, don’t say nothing at all if you ever end up here, you will stay 7 to 14 days on judges order and the food was good for a hospital!

Head nurse Harris, Dr. G, Dr. Malone, Bella, Tech Dom, and Addiction Group Counselor aka Lightskin Unk are amazing staff who did an amazing job while I was there and honestly deserve a raise. Protect them at all costs, because they do excellent work at a job that is far from easy. Mad respect, and I mean this in the nicest way possible when I say, “I will never see you again inside those walls.” 🫡

Special shoutout to the cooking, cleaning , and maintenance staff 🫶🏽

My 19 year old son recently participated in a mental health program. He came to Three Rivers because we live in Myrtle Beach and there were no local openings. When we got to Three Rivers late at night-they welcomed him with open arms and had all of his paperwork ready. They gave him an in person assessment and made sure he was all set before we left for the evening. The communication with the social workers, doctors , and staff were excellent. He said the food was good and he enjoyed the therapy sessions. This could have been a very scary experience, but he said he needed to be there and felt better after going there . Thank you to everyone at Three Rivers.

My son was looking for an outpatient treatment program and when we read the terrible reviews on Three Rivers, we were very skeptical. However, it ended up being the best decision ever! They have a wonderful outpatient treatment program and Virginia is simply amazing. I highly recommend the outpatient treatment program. Please don't let the reviews keep you away.

Virginia has been wonderful! She helped me work through a lot and identify some root causes and make determination about my career and future. She and the IOP program is wonderful.

Ms.Anneka was a life saver along with Erica,Clint and of course princess. The techs run the show and make you feel more like family then patients. This was an amazing experience even though I didn’t want to be in there. The schedule keeps you busy and the group meetings is what I didn’t want to do but they helped the most. The only thing I would change is the nurse’s attitudes towards us. Very mean and very rude. And of course the food was absolutely horrible but the snacks helped out. I met a lot of amazing people and we all became family instead of just patients. I would definitely recommend this facility. Thank you for helping me see another day. Y’all will always have a special place in my heart.

A lot of people have a hard time getting adjusted to being unable to leave, but honestly that's the point since you have to be suicidal/drug addict or have a behavioral problem. It isn't that bad though and everyone is positive and uplifting.

I completed outpatient therapy with this group. The group was large however the counselor was very attentive and helpful. The staff was always willing to reach out to me and assist with any questions or concerns. Overall it was a very pleasant experience. They helped me during one of my lowest times. The counselor I worked with name was Jessica and I’ll never forget her and how helpful she was to me.

I had a wonderful experience. I’m actually from the upstate but 3 rivers was the only facility with beds open at the time that would take a pregnant person. It was a long way from home but it was totally worth the 3 hour transport from the ER. The staff was wonderful, everyone really cared about and were aware of my condition even though I wasn’t showing. They explained every part of treatment as well as all the medicine they were giving me. My room was super clean, comfortable. Wish they updated the bathrooms but they were clean. All the social workers were helpful and the food was always really bomb at every point in the day. Appreciated the endless decaf and support. I don’t feel like I had the best grasp after leaving, but it was a great safety net in the moment and helped me be able to finish the semester of school I was in . I met some wonderful people there and if I ever have a crisis again I hope they’ll have a bed for me cause I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. The quality of care was so much better than any I would’ve received locally!

4 weeks ago I took myself to 3 Rivers. Not expecting much but a push to the side and maybe some help or maybe not. I received some of the best care. I was in Partial In-patient therapy. We met everyday M-F from 9a-3p. This is by far the best place I have received mental health care and will always recommend this place. The staff at 3 Rivers Partial In-Patient care is amazing. They care about how you are doing and you are not just a number or a dollar sign to them. McKayla, Michelle, and Nancy are some the best counselors there!! If you are struggling or just need some mental health maintenance they are there to help get you back on track. I can say after 4 weeks of deep intense daily group and individual therapy, I have come out of the fog a much brighter, more healthier individual. Rough days will not be as hard and I know the staff there will always be there when/if I ever need them again.

Stayed inpatient for a week after an attempt in November of 2018. Staff was kind, restrictions were understandable, medications were helpful, food was good, activities and recommendations were great. I’m in a way better place now and it all started at Three Rivers!

My darling teen-aged daughter was hospitalized here. I didn't understand a lot of the rules, as this was my first encounter with a hospital of this sort. At first I was on edge thinking they've taken her and just locked her up and didn't even call me until the following afternoon. After looking at the reviews online, I dreaded and expected the WORST. However, the first visitation day came and my opinions drastically changed. After going through the security measure (signing in, leaving my cell phone in the car and having to ring the door bell), I talked to the other parents in the waiting room. They didn't like the situation that brought them there but they seemed at ease and trusting of the place. I saw my daughter, she looked great. Her eyes were clear, her color was warm, she was smiling and knew all the other kids there by name. I asked her every question I could think of. She said she wished they weren't so strict but she understood why they were. She didn't like the food but she liked being housed with kids like her going through the same things she was. She said the place gave her structure and helped through group, to talk about her issues. She actually told me she loved it there. On her last day, she gave everyone hugs (they're not really allowed hugs but she is a very loving teen) and she was sad to be leaving them. Afterwards, she was like a whole new kid. She didn't take anything for granted, always smiling. They put her on wellbutrin and it seems to really help. Our case worker was Nikki. She never answered her phone but she would get my messages most of the time in a timely manner. As far as I could see there was nothing indicating anything foul going on. The place was clean, well organized, well supervised, and really friendly nurses at the desk who answered any question or concern I had without hesitation. Overall, the adolescent ward is a good place. My daughter felt safe and well cared for. She said she wouldn't have a problem going back again if she needed to. I don't see why there are so many negative reviews but please, don't worry. See your kid before you drag yourself through sleepless nights. I've never let my daughter out of my sight but after 2 visits, I felt assured that she was safe and in a place she trusted.

This place was totally Hectic I went at age 11 Nov 1st 2018 , The staff was terrible , they didn't give me my meds for like 2 weeks straight, and there was fights in my dorm ( kars ) and the kids were crazy... i was ONLY 11 . It feels like prison when you're in their - locked up in the fenced up grounds. The school teachers were nice ( Mrs.Kylcoyne ) etc ... but overall - terrible. Don't go there ( from experience )

I've been to several facilities in the past three years. & this one was by far the best. I attended this facility for almost three months. the doctors and nurses treated my peers and myself like human beings. if we were respectful they respected us. I mean that's how it works. you acted out, you got what was mandatory for them to do. the groups we had helped a lot of the people around me & personally helped me a lot as well. I felt very safe being in the facility. the food options were great and fit to everybody. they had vegan and vegetarian meals, and various amounts of food. you could eat as much as you want in the 30 minute time period you had, and sometimes the nurses were nice enough to let us eat for an extra few minutes. most of them were very understanding and caring for all of the patients. the unit I was in was fairly clean & the rules were standard, nothing to crazy. speaking for myself I felt very comfortable being there. the doctor I had was very considerate of how I felt and asked a lot of questions so he could diagnose me correctly. overall this place was great! & tbh as crazy as it sounds I didn't want to leave as soon as I did because of how much they helped me in the time period I was there.

If you are reading these because you want to know that your loved one is safe. Please listen to me. This place is not what these reviews say it is. It is a good place. Yes there are forced injections but only when you act out. If you are there to get better you will get better. It's not a bad place and it hasn't been a bad place ever. My neighbor went there when he was young. About 10 years ago. And my girlfriend was just there. I hope this review can save you from your worrying. When I read these reviews I had a massive panic attack. I don't wish that on anyone. So please don't worry. If you or your loved one truly wants to get better they will give you medicine and everything they can to help. It's not a bad place. I've heard nothing but good stories from the people in real life that I know personally. Not these random peoples reviews.
