San Jose Mexican Restaurant

Food was tasty, and we got a lot of food for the value. Service was on point! As soon as we got there we were guided to our table, given chips and salsa, and given our drinks within 2 minutes. The food came out fast. The staff is lively, friendly, and fast. The music spanned across multiple genres, from Mariachi to EDM. The only thing I should mention is that one of the ladies in our party said the ladies room was messy, but we had not noticed anything in the gentlemen’s room.

We always have a great time here... the wait staff is friendly and have a great sense of humor, very attentive, and the food is always fresh, hot & tasty!

I've been here many times and they always have great food, good prices, and quick, excellent service. I really like their burritos, tacos, and quesadillas. The guacamole they make right at your table is also very delicious.
If you enjoy Mexican food, I definitely recommend this San Jose.

Strawberry margarita is a must try! All their margaritas were good. You have plenty of vegetarian options. Ask for veggies in your quesadilla. The chalupa here is different from taco bell chalupas. So ask before ordering. They can host big parties. The Mexican Flan was a bit harder than I expected.

I got a to-go order at this location for the first time and the service was fast, friendly and fresh. The salsa had a pleasant kick to it and amazing flavor that was better than I’ve had in a while. Generous portions of chips and salsa too. Would definitely recommend!

I love this San Jose. The staff is always so friendly and attentive and it feels like they have made an effort to know us. The service is quick and the food is delish!

We had some great Mexican food tonight in Ballentine. Everything was excellent and we even got some table side guacamole. This is the best San Jose around. Don’t go anywhere else.

Good place to get dinner. Good music & ambience, and staff was helpful as well. With the complimentary chips, request their hot sauce dip (only if you are up to the hotness of it). Amazingly tangy & hot. Food was good and plenty. Good place to bring family and friends. If you have vegetarian folks with you, will definitely recommend this place as there are lots of options available.

Fast, quick service! The staff are very friendly & polite! The atmosphere is positive!! They have a real Spanish authentic feeling in there, takes you away from the reality on the outside! Food is absolutely amazing and you don't have to wait long for anything!!! Kid friendly, open bar, outdoor seating to watch the sunset! They also have a Vegetarian menu for the non meat eaters as well! There's food for everyone. Prices are very flexible and very affordable!!! I recommend checking it out and having great food with the family as well as service! Thank you Sam Jose! We will be back!!!!

We were there for a birthday party. There were over 60 people that attended and the service was outstanding! The wait staff were super quick and very attentive. The food came quickly and was delicious! I don't know how they achieved such great service in our lovely chaos but the entire staff including the kitchen staff perfection. We were super impressed by this restaurant and highly recommend.

The food and service were great as always! This is my favorite San Jose in the Columbia area. My kids love it as well! I recommend that you ask about the daily specials. They have never disappointed me yet!

Great place! Sure it's the usual Mexican fare, but the decor makes this place fun! From the exterior music at the entrance to the statues inside, this place makes me want to come here as my primary Mexican food provider.
I got my food to go and it was ready in about 10-15 minutes. Not bad for a walk-in order on a busy Saturday night! Definitely recommend!!

I ordered the Polo Asada with beans instead of rice. There was so much food. I loved it. The chicken nice grilled marks on it. I love the sauteed peppers and onions that were on top. It was so delicious and they served it quickly. My husband got the pork shrimp and chicken with tortillas and beans and cheese. He loved his as well. We will definitely go back again. Our waiter was so nice and took good care of us.

We found this wonderful restaurant on the way home from Charleston to Virginia! Amazing food! Beautiful restaurant!

Super fast (but not rushed) service! Friendly atmosphere and great food.

This place is phenomenal and I wish I could rate it higher. The staff are always present and ready to help. The drinks will never reach the bottom before a refill is offered. As soon as your order is placed you are presented with some very good warm chips and very fresh tasting salsa.

Within about 5m of placing your order you start hearing the sizzle of a hot plate making it's way to your table. As soon as the plates hit the table you see everyone's eyes become cartoonishly large seeing the massive feast that has graced your table.

The portions are massive in comparison to other local places. I usually head straight for the fajita nachos when I go here. I included a picture which just doesn't do it justice since I forgot to add something for scale. The nachos I get come with steak, beans, cheese, and I have the onions and peppers removed. For $12 you get what looks like a 16oz steak cut into strips and laid across some of the most buttery tasting refried beans you will ever have. This pairs great with the slightly spicy queso cheese and warm chips.

If you are hungry and I mean HUNGRY but want to keep your spending at a conservative level then this is the place you go to. There's just nothing else that compares.
