This is a hard enough time in a person's life. I had contacted the funeral home January to set up services for my father who was gravely ill. I was told to down load the paperwork and fax it back to them. In this way when my father passed away all paperwork would be ready. My father passed away at the end of April and I thought we had everything set up for my father a veteran to have the veteran's package. No, this wasn't how it was going at first and I became confused. In the paperwork I filled out and sent back it states my father was a veteran. As the young woman was giving me a price much higher than when we first spoke it seemed to dawn on her my father had been in the service. She then directed me to the page showing the veteran's packages. I asked her if she knew when my father would be ready and she said she couldn't tell me. I needed to let my family who lived out of state know. Her response was she was sorry but couldnt help me. When I asked about my father being buried at the national veteran's cemetery she seemed surprised but did call them even asked me if I wanted a flag. I understand funeral argangments are stressful but this was made worse for me. I felt like my dad and family really disnt matter because it wasn't a high dollar funeral. Even after telling them the time I would be at the funeral home to pick up the urn they were not ready. Having to find the death certificates and fold the flag.
