I used to do business with Trans Tax. I loved Nancy, very personable and reasonable. She would sit down with you without an appointment and cared about everyone she met. I felt confident i was doing the right thing and i liked that she kept records for 7 years in case of an audit. Unfortunately she retired and moved our records to Bookworm. The prices are outrageous, $250/hr. This year I pulled up to a sign on the door that any submissions in April would be charged an extra $50 for extension even though there were 2 weeks to go until due date. The front desk worker, though very nice, isn't an accountant and isnt sure about questions i had on the paperwork. I didn't feel confident i was doing the right thing. Initially he greeted me in an informal manner with a, "How you doin'?" It felt like he was hitting on me. The accountants in the back were talking down on a client, a whole family of clients with their family business, which also felt unprofessional. Halfway through my paperwork the front desk assistant left and I felt like I was intruding with any question I had because they kept talking. They didn't introduce themselves, ask my name...it was very transactional with short answers. They seemed very behind and unorganized, and charging the customers for it. I also found out they only keep records for 3yrs and don't share interest in helping if you get audited. Because of this I asked if they had all my records from Trans Tax as I was never made aware they weren't keeping anything. They did not have all my records. 3yrs are missing and I have no idea what happened to that paperwork. That's extremely concerning. I feel very uneasy this year and don't think I will to continue business next year.
UPDATE: I called Bookworm to pay for the services and inquire how to proceed, and as soon as I said my name the front desk worker laughed and said hold on. The owner gets on the phone wanting to fight?! She referred to the review immediately and said she doesn't care about reviews, that Google reviewers are bullies. I'm like wow, this lady can't handle any feedback! She began with defending her front desk person, which whatever, if you think this is professional this is why you wouldn't survive the corporate world. You need to take feedback seriously. No one is trying to bully you. They are trying to help you improve your business! She kept escalating upset over things I said and I kept redirecting the conversation to business, which I pointed out as well, saying I simply wasn't sure if I wanted to do business next year and that i was planning on updating the review if they could handle this properly. I simply called to pay and then move on. I wasn't going out of my way to be rude and she kept on going back to saying what she didn't appreciate. And, kept deflecting trying to make a big deal out of the comment i made about the front desk worker, who i said was NICE but made an unprofessional comment and wasnt prepared for questions. He was NOT the point of my post or review. That's not helpful for anyone. I went from cool as a cucumber to this woman having me yelling over nothing! Well then she ends the relationship tells me to get my stuff and hangs up. This is CRAZY! I've never dealt with someone who can't handle feedback this poorly and can't handle an upset customer at ALL. It's not personal you psycho! This owner is clearly tired and needs to retire. I would NEVER recommend them EVER. Now I'm late on my taxes that I wasn't even late for! Why?! What is wrong with you people?!
UPDATE 2: I just went to get my documents. Bookworm admitted to receiving my tax paperwork 04/08 and refused to give me the application. She said it's her document and tried to say it was an interview and not an application. (I'm an existing client by the way, that wasn't even a question). But anyway, all she would do is write the date down with her signature. Let me tell you- I am NOT letting this one go.

Super disappointed this year (2022). Going elsewhere in 2023. This was our 3rd & final year using this service! We have been waiting 2 months on them to get our paperwork in order and the information is same as past 2years so there’s no excuse for this delay
