I loved it here! The campus has a small feel and it's very comfortable. Everyone was friendly and kind, and you don't ever feel like your not having a good time. Great rooms, great atmosphere and food/drinks were fun

Rented an event room for a surprise bday party. All the staff are great; helpful, accommodating and focused on satisfying the customer. The catered food was great and they have an extensive menu to select from. The planning staff made the process very smooth. I would definitely do this again if the need arose. We had an awesome gal servicing our room. Everyone commented on the food and the service. What a fun time! Thank you McMenamins!

We had a surprise retirement party here and the staff was amazing! So kind and attentive. Many of us traveled here and stayed the weekend. And when we had a medical incident, the whole staff jumped in and helped- keeping crowds away, looking for paramedics, checking in etc. The party space was great, catered food was delicious and the rooms were clean and comfy. They really went above and beyond all weekend for us! Highly recommend!

It's such a fun place to stay. The bartenders are mostly very knowledgeable and very kind. All the staff are very kind and encourage a great time. The fire pits are such a great touch. All the little details of decor are incredible. The bedrooms are extremely nice, the beds are mostly comfortable, I kept waking up to springs is all... there aren't refrigerators in the rooms, so we couldn't keep leftovers. Other than that, it's a fantastic place! Love McMenamins!

I've had the opportunity lately to stay at this establishment a few times in the past few months and each room that I've stayed in is unique to itself which I find very cool. The rooms are immaculate, the bathrooms are spotless, the food is amazing, service is outstanding and the Nui Nui tiki bar above the swimming pool is badass.!!

I attended the Porsche Club banquet at McMenamins. The catering was definitely "Service with a Smile." The appetizers were substantial and the buffet was diverse and delicious. I was particularly impressed with the host that guided us through the buffet, answering any questions and helping choose what to select. The bartenders also appeared to be in a great mood. PS - The Porsche Club hosted a great banquet. It's worth becoming a member just for this annual event.

Very unique place to stay. Loved sitting by the fires they had setup at night and enjoying a favorite drink from the bar. Great place to unwind. Will be going back sometime! Parking was prob the most challenging - it was very full when we were there.

Amazing service and staff, rooms are beautiful. The square and restaurants are amazing and quite affordable. The open fire pits are a great place to sit and have a drink or five ;-).

McMenamins is an institution and McMenamins at Anderson School is one of the most satisfying social places you can visit in this area. I love this place. The decor is old school, comfy and unique. Service is personable and the food is good. There is so much to do. A hotel and a restaurant and a bar and a store and a lot more. Basically, it is an experience. Pool is cheap at just $5/hr. Come and visit and luxuriate with your friends.
Get a passport so you can visit all of the McMenamins.

stayed here for the 3rd time now and still love it! my only complaint was I could have sworn it was a 21 and up establishment... apparently not? at the very least we thought the Woodshop was 21+ only. very disappointed when children were seated right next to the pool table and when not screeching, uncorrected, had their faces perched over their chairs right next to the loaded pool cues... made it difficult to shoot. maybe we should have taught a lesson, resulting in broken teeth? not the fault of the establishment persay... but maybe make it 21 and up? it's a major part of the joy of McMenamins... not having to be around children everywhere in public. other than a drain on the generally rad vibe, we had a great time. thanks for being such a welcome oasis!

Considering this for your wedding venue? Excellent choice! From a photographer's standpoint, this venue is exciting and allows for a great deal of creativity. Indoors there are quirky fixtures and a fun aesthetic, while outdoors has multiple gardens (pnw, cactus, tropical). tip: dip into the woodshop for a cool vibe.
*this particular wedding was on an over 100 degree day, so we did photos rather quickly. Not the norm for wa, but McMenamins had a large white tent to save the day!

Big thanks to Bailey, I accidentally left my wine at the tiki bar. They took the time to come find us at the next bar and return it. Thank you Bailey!

I usually do not do reviews online, but given the experiences my wife and I have had here, I felt I needed to. We have stayed in the hotel a couple times and eaten at the restaurants multiple times.
This place is incredible. The food is good, the grounds are beautiful, and the rooms are very nice. I would like to mention a few specific employees who have made such positive experiences for us. First, Ray the bartender. This man is friendly, fast, professional, and he makes the best old fashioned I have ever had! Second, Lexi the server. She is kind, friendly, fast, and can balance many tables at once. She is so sweet! Such a nice person!!! Third, Bertha the server. She made sure I had been helped when I was not even at one of her tables. She was a great server when we were in her section and she was very attentive! Fourth, Epiphany was so awesome as well! She got the door for me and was just a delight as she kept things clean and always smiled at us when she walked by! Lastly, Mirelle. So genuinely nice and courteous as a server! Way to go McMenamins! We will certainly be coming back soon. LIFE IS GOOD!!!

We booked with the McMenamins Anderson School in the Patty Murray room for our rehearsal dinner the weekend of our wedding and had an amazing experience! Jennifer Waters, the event coordinator, was extremely professional and made the whole experience as easy as possible for us. We are so happy we chose McMenamins and would highly recommend reserving one of their rooms/spaces for an event!

So much fun! We really love how each hotel room has a different layout is uniquely decorated. All the mismatched light fixtures, fun art, and creative styles really add to the whimsical vibe. The restaurants on site are great and we especially loved sitting out by the fires and hanging with our friends.

It's such a cool place to go! My husband and I came here for our anniversary! We have the passport, so we decided to drive up here and stay. They have the hotel, north shore lagoon (pool/Polynesian restaurant), the Shed (bar/patio, woodshed (pub/games), a market, tavern on the square (restaurant), and a movie theater. The hotel is an old school building and each room represents a previous teacher. The beds were comfortable, the shower was small, the decor was eclectic, and the lighting, chandeliers everywhere, was neat! The atmosphere is my favorite! All the staff have been amazing. They have plenty of outdoor seating with lights/fireplaces/heaters. We didn't watch a movie, but a cute movie theater in the back of the grounds. The ciders here are my drink of choice. My husband and I went to the Woodshop and played shuffleboard, it was $10/hr. They also have pool tables for the same cost. In addition, they have pinball machines. It's definitely a great place to hang out and enjoy a little getaway! Would definitely stay again!

What a fun time. Like all the McMenamins we have visited ( including Troutdale, Saint Francis in Bend and McMinville) It was just fun. The rooms are all uniquely decorated. It is so fun to walk through the school and read the historical write ups. You feel a part of the past community. The restaurants were all warm and welcoming. Just a great time

Love the pool, especially in the cold months because steam rises off the heated pool. The lagoon theme is very cool. Hotel with lots to do. Restaurant and bar on site.

Fantastic Fall experience enjoying food, family, and specialty drinks by the outdoor fireplace. Staff was wonderful and we enjoyed the evening immensely.

Old school district building with a pool & several restaurant/bars & a movie theater & nice outdoor seating & fires.
Food is good & McMenamin's own beers are worth exploring. We live nearby so we don't rent rooms but we visit regularly to watch a movie with a beer & sandwich or dinner & drinks. In the walkable heart of downtown Bothell too.
