Bao Shi Yi

I have been craving Jianbing since I moved back from China. I finally found a place that makes it in Katy! Went there tonight and shared a Jianbing with my child and also tried the roujiamo, aka Chinese Hamburger. The staff were very friendly and happy to chat even with my rapidly diminishing Chinese language skills. We will definitely be back to try more items on the menu. Jianbing isn’t something that travels well, even in China, so I recommend if you want the authentic taste, eat it there.

It was my first time trying soup dumplings so I have nothing to base them on, but the food and the atmosphere were great 👍🏼 The beef onion buns were good too.

We dined at this restaurant and ordered the braised beef noodle, fresh meat buns, and the Chinese donut. All were delicious. The beef noodle broth was a bit too salty for my liking, but it was flavorful and savory. The beef in the soup fell apart readily and was yummy. The buns were fresh and steamed to the temperature that I like - not piping hot. The donuts were crispy, as expected. We would go back to try more of their food.

They also have frozen dumplings that can be purchased to take home for when you have the urge to have dumplings at night or take them to a party!

A hidden Gem in Katy! This place is a Chinese street food restaurant, along with some regular dishes. Really love their soup dumplings. The popcorn chicken is amazing. It's not super breaded, but it has a unique seasoning that makes you keep coming back for more. The buns are huge. You will fill up on one! The pancake was definitely different but still good. Not something I would repurchase because they have a lot more other amazing options.

Wonderful experience! Had soup dumplings (to die for!), pork, shrimp, and cabbage dumplings, beef onion and cheese potstickers, and New Orleans chicken bao. I’m personally not a big fan of Bao in general due to texture, but my husband loved it. Also their cups are so cool! Everything was full of flavor, Can’t wait to go back!

Ordered soup dumplings, traditional pancake spicy, spicy popcorn chicken and braised beef noodle soup. Food came out very quickly and everything was so good and flavorful. The beef noodle soup had a bit of numbing effect which I enjoy. Be sure to use their sauces.

Popcorn chicken was so delicious! Clean and bright store atmosphere with hip decor including LED lights. Kid friendly too, my little one loved the meat buns and soup dumplings.

Discovered a hidden gem of a Chinese-style cafe that’s a true delight! From the addictive Taiwanese style popcorn chicken to the delectable steam buns and flavorful wonton soup, every dish was a hit. The bubble tea drinks and smoothies were a refreshing bonus. The service was top-notch, adding to the overall enjoyable experience.

Discovered this little spot today. Soup dumplings were AMAZING! Great food, great atmosphere and great customer service. Mary was super helpful with recommendations and very friendly. We'll definitely be back and I encourage anybody in the area to stop in and try it!

The soup dumplings are legit y'all. As good of soup dumplings as I've found in Houston - the wrapper is not too thick, the filling is rich and flavorful (even without the soup!), and the price is reasonable. Tons of great options here that I would love to try, and I will definitely be back.

Small-ish space, though there is seating outside, as well as take-out options, though I'd suggest ordering ahead of time because it took a good 10 minutes for my order to be prepared for take-out.

DELICIOUS food! Easy parking. We ordered the chicken buns and the shrimp dumplings. Very kid friendly!

Best dumplings place very nice service everyone is so kind! i always come here with my boyfriend and we get the leek shrimp and pork dumplings and the soup dumplings and they never disappoint

Wow, amazing. Apparently some of the buns I got “broke open”, so the lady added two extra ones for me. The prices weren’t expensive either with the current economy/inflation. Great service :)

Kind and attentive to detail. Thank you for constantly giving great customer service. My son loves the dumplings and my daughter loves the stuffed buns and I love the spicy ramen D1! Thank you!!! Our favorite and it is close to home.

This is my second visit. The first time I just wanted to try the drinks. That visit we got a Mango Juice Slush and Brown Sugar Milk Tea. Both were delicious but on the smaller side for the price. Second visit yesterday was no different. We dined in but realize this restaurant is setup for a to go service. Everything was served in containers which I'm okay with and water being self service. I just wish there was a napkin holder to not disturb the BUSY cashier. So for this visit we tried lots of different things including Fresh meat buns, Braised Beef Noodle, Chinese Traditional Pancake, Chinese Donut and another Brown Sugar Milk Tea. Everything was delicious and will be going back. All the food is flash frozen and steamed per order, but you can't tell. Bao was on the smaller side that I'm used to traditionally but this was more a Dim Sum style. I look forward to going back and trying other dishes. I also want to say everything is very clean and marketed VERY well. It almost looks like a massive chain with everything labeled and surprised this is a small 4 location Houston based company.

It's pretty dangerous that I discovered the delicious Sichuan Spicy Wonton in Red Oil here! It tasted very fresh, great texture in the wonton, and the sauce it was soaked in was to die for. I may be craving this for breakfast often. Also tried the Chinese donut and it was good. Not sweet but a light airy, slightly crisp/flaky on outside soft on inside texture.

I had a wonderful experience. The slushies are really good but they're a bit pricey 6$.

First time at this place and it was pretty good. Soup dumplings were the best! A little smaller than I thought they would be, but none the less really good! The beef an onion Bao was pretty decent as well. The vibe inside was really cool

Great food! We got the pork soup dumplings, the beef and green onion steamed dumplings and the crepe with cilantro green onions and sausage. All three were amazing. I will be back and order exactly the same thing. We've got to support the good restaurants near our houses so we have good options!
