Proper & Ernest

We discovered this store by accident and it has become our number one go to for all things alcohol. Their prices are on par with other seller but the service we get from the manager every time we come in is exemplary; not only do we get excellent recommendations for things we might like or are worth trying, but the sheer knowledge those recommendations come with is astounding. We always have a warm positive experience there, regardless of how terrible our day may have been otherwise. Proper & Ernest is more than just a store, its a haven. They do lean more into better quality than the grocery store cheap stuff, but that doesn't mean that everything is expensive, just that even the lower shelf stuff is still likely to be pretty decent.

Love this place! The guys here are super knowledgeable and you can tell they love teaching customers about whiskey. They've been super helpful as I'm starting my bourbon journey.
Prices are comparable to your chain stores. Some bottles are marked up 5/10 bucks but for the most part they are around the same. Totally worth spending an extra 10 bucks to support a local business and have a good conversation.

I love Proper & Ernest. Rob is the absolute best and knows everything. A month ago we did a mezcal tour and ended up with a fantastic experience. This time it was reverse engineering Sezerac. I called. He said he had all ingredients. I asked if he knew the measurements and he said he would find out. We get to the shop and he has many recipes, and we leave knowing Proper & Ernest is always the best!

My go to liquor store in the area. The shop keeper is always very knowledgeable and helpful. They have some more difficult to find items that your chain liquor store won't have.

We just had the most amazing experience at Proper & Ernest! We were given such an amazing array of interesting information about their vast collection of whiskey that we ended up purchasing two! This is a must visit place if you want friendly service and lots of fun and interesting knowledge with a hint of fantastic whit! Sip on my friends!

So, so, so many tiny bottles/ liquor samples of all kinds... I got a nice Chateauneuf du Pape.

David was very helpful and provided great customer service. Helped me find a few items I’m missing from my whiskey bar. These guys have a fantastic selection and numerous store picks.

These guys are pros. First, selection is top notch. Second, their info is incredible, I asked for a recommendation on a fancy cocktail, and they gave me all the ingredients AND told me how to make it, which worked like a charm. Third, customer service is amazing as well.

You can buy liquor anywhere but you here you get much more. Not only is there selection beyond the norm but there level of experience and gratuitous nature makes an experience worth having. My only stop to unwind everytime. Happy Easter 🐣

Great selection of top shelf scotch and bourbon. Friendly staff; knowledgeable and not pushy. Prices a little higher than the big box stores, but I'd rather buy locally. Also good selection of miniatures.

This is hands down the best liquor store in the Seattle area. They may be small compared to the chain stores, but their whiskey selection is on point, with many hard to find bottles, and unique barrel picks. Plus the owner is super friendly and really knows his whiskey.

This has to be the best local liquor store in the area. Some of the best bottle selections, knowledgeable owner, and they can order just about anything you request. You cannot go wrong shopping here.

Amazing selection of spirits, including some more esoteric whiskies, as well as a good selection of local beers in bottles and cans, and on tap for growler fills. Knowledgeable and very friendly staff - highly recommended if you're looking for something special or unusual, and if they don't have it - they can usually get what you want.

This is a great little shop with an impressive variety of liquor in a wide variety of price ranges. If you want high end whiskey or scotch, they have a great selection, if you want lower priced they have that too. Very knowledgable staff to steer you in the right direction if you dont know what you want.
They also have beer for growler fills and a good variety of bitters and amaros.

I highly recommend stopping by.

Always a go to when I need a bottle of liquor I know I can't find anywhere else, or when I want to try some new beer. The staff is super knowledgeable and friendly, and always willing to help you find something. I love going in to get tastings of new beers they have on tap. Prices are a little bit higher than you could find elsewhere, but I'd much rather send my money to a local, small business than a big chain any day.

Awesome selection and the staff is always friendly and happy to help recommend something. Their cold beer selection has lots of variety you don't find anywhere else in Woodinville. (Sours, porters, stouts, etc)
