As a first time mom, Dr Joel Sarmiento has been the best pediatrician we could ask for. He is extremely attentive and patient every time we see him- takes his time to work with our child and answer all our questions no matter how small! It's also super easy to get an appointment even when we needed a last minute appointment.

I have only visited the Belterra location and Dr Joel Sarmiento has been great to my children and our family. He is attentive and caring to their needs. He is patient and does a great job explaining the care to us parents. The staff has also been wonderful. I have zero complaints and I am very happy with the care we have received. It's also super easy to get an appointment and Dr Sarmiento has been very understanding and accommodating when we needed a last minute appointment.

Dr Sarmiento takes his time with my kiddos even when they are being silly teenagers. I appreciate that he calls himself when labs are not in the correct range. They also always fit our family in when our needs are emergent.

Dr. Joel has been nothing but kind and extremely helpful every appointment so far. We have enjoyed every encounter we have had at beansprouts so far!

We love Dr Sarmiento! All of our 3 kids see him and we couldn’t ask for a better pediatrician.

Dr. Sarmiento and his staff are wonderful. Great with kids, efficient, you usually never wait long to get in, all around good people.

But the missing star is because of the recent transition to Texas Children's network and the MyChart platform. I cannot book appointments online. Dr. Sarmiento's name doesn't come up at all and there's no way to manually search. And you can never just call the office and talk to someone about this. Everything is so insulated that when you have a problem or need to talk through something, the best you can do is leave a message for a call back. But maybe I have time available now to call and I won't whenever the staff gets to my message. Inconvenient all around.

Beansprouts is average at Best. We have seen a couple different doctors and so far none seem to enjoy their job very well. It's also extremely difficult, nearly impossible to speak with a human. Dr. Emily Brown at the Dripping Springs office is your best bet. We will begin to look elsewhere for our children's provider as we would like a more progressive vibe with some basic customer service from the staff. We have visited the Belterra and Dripping Springs locations.

We had a really bad experience with Beansprout. They lost vaccination records for our 6 month old son, leading to them almost doubling up on some of his vaccines (thankfully my wife was there and remembered some of the vaccines he had done and stopped them before giving the shot). After going through the records to see what he had been given, Beansprout realized they never documented what was given in his previous immunization. We had to get additional testing done (titer test) to make sure his immunization levels were appropriate.

Beansprout was supposed to cover this bill, as it was linked to problems with their own record keeping. They never ended up paying the bill (even though I've spent months trying to move it along), and we were recently contacted by a collection agency to recover the balance, so I just ended up paying the bill myself. A poor way to close out a really terrible experience.

On the bright side, it led us to the Tiger Clinic in Dripping Springs, which has been an absolute blessing and we have loved the service and care we have received there since changing practices.

Front desk person was not friendly. We were late due to a horrible wreck and tried calling but nobody answered and we left a voicemail. We arrived to her telling us we were late. There was nobody in the waiting room and she never answered the phone. She said they’d try to work us In- we had a sick visit and the other visits were well checks they preferred for my sick child to sit In the waiting area contaminating anyone who entered for 35+ minutes rather than put her In a room. There’s a toy machine in the waiting area that says insert quarters or tokens my daughter who again, was sick wanted to play the machine. There was no spray sanitizer or sanitizer wipes by it. I put my quarter in and it got stuck- I let the front desk woman who was 2 feet from us know to which she begrudgingly replied that we were supposed to be using tokens. I said oh ok, can we please have some tokens- then she said we don’t do that until the end of your visit. Mind you this is 35+ minutes into our wait and my sick daughter was very uncomfortable -I said well I put a quarter in, what is the difference- now or after the visit? Can you give my quarter back then and we can try another slot? She then gave a token. We tried again with a quarter in a different one that said ‘insert quarter or tokens’ and it got stuck again, we had to ask for another token and she was not pleased. Dont have a toy machine if it doesn’t take quarters or if you don’t want to kindly
Give out tokens. The whole experience was rude and all I was trying to do was help
My child be more
Comfortable while
We waited. The intake nurse was also
Rude and absolutely lacked any child interaction skills. No smiling, explaining to my 3 year old daughter what she was doing etc. She was llike ‘get on the scale we are taking your weight.’ It doesn’t take much to help a child feel more comfortable but this was obviously too
Much for this staff. The doctor himself was fine, but to deal with that staff I will never be back. When someone is sick you don’t also need to be rude.

Experience at Beansprout has been consistently inconsistent! Front desk people and the info on the website keeps contradicting each other. They made you an appointment at the office, then called to cancel it because our daughter is not an established patient at the practice. The website didn't say you have to be an established patient to get ear pierced. And the doc at BelTerra lacks bed side manner/common courtesy. I was standing right at the front desk while he's 20 ft away from me. He cannot come to tell me himself they made a mistake letting my online appointment to go through because they don't do ear piercing there. Instead he has to relay that message to the receptionist and tell me that. Hello, I was right there and I can hear the whole conversation. A normal person would just come over and explain the situation. Easy peasy🤷‍♂
Mind you, our first born has been a patient at Beansprout before and we switched. I thought 10 years later service would have been improved! I guess I shouldn't have an expectation
Based on all these encounters, I would not go to Beansprout for any care for our children as they are so unorganized and their docs' mightier than thou attitude.
