Austin Playhouse

Watched Murder on the Links by Agatha Christie and it was great... The show incredible. With a cast of 6 playing over 20 people it was so well done. I would highly recommend this Playhouse. Cookies and refreshments offered for a cheap price...please Tip. Parking was hard to find. ADA wheelchair accessible. Please support them for the good work that they do. Photos provided.

A Queer owned and operated playhouse with some of the most incredible performers and stage crews in Austin. I saw Sordid Lives back in October and it was absolutely fantastic! I can't wait to come back!

We watched Murder on the links at Austin playhouse and I loved it. Even though 6 people were playing 25 characters, we never got confused, and we thoroughly enjoyed the play.

First time to the Playhouse and was delighted! Saw The Norwegians and found it very entertaining and superbly acted. Will def go to the Playhouse again.

Love the variety of shows at Austin Playhouse! I recently saw “Big Fish” production and it was great! They are in a temporary location but manage it very well - comfortable seating, modest concession offerings (perfectly suitable for venue) and always friendly staff.

Loved the play ("The Norwegians"), ample legroom, staff, mood - all great. Seat had a cushion but I (medium tall) was just ok with it.

This is really what live community theater is all about. A small venue so you can really see what's going on with the performers. The downside is the complete lack of parking except for the $16 UT Co-op garage. You can get two hours free with a small purchase at the co-op.

Excellent experience. Easy check-in at the main theater desk upstairs, complimentary beer/wine (with donations appreciated), and a small stage that feels intimate. The seats are randomly assigned and have ample legroom. Not a bad seat in the house - you can see the stage from everywhere. Talented actors, wonderful show. Will definitely return when I visit Austin again.

This is a quaint, yet very well done, small local theater. They produce remarkably fabulous and entertaining shows. Highly recommended.

Nice plays and musicals. It reminds me of how Zach Scott theater used to be 20 years ago.

This Austin Theater offers evenings of enjoyment through the magic of acting and of song and dance. I have seen a wide range of performances, both classic and contemporary, performed by lifelong artists and young professionals. Why not make the theater a regular part of your outings and improve upon our little eclectic society with your patronage to the arts. Great job, everyone at APH.

Omg — you must see Lizzie at Austin Playhouse this week. Hubby loved the sexy all-female cast. The music and acting and costumes were spot on. Forget Barbie and Oppenheimer. Lizzie is the hottest show in town. 🔥🔥

Attended Big Fish School in June 2023. Unbelievable talent and production value. I, of course, will be back.

I have been here several times to see a variety of plays and I can say they never disappoint. The plays are great and the actors are all very talented. The theater is small (best guess is about 100-200 seats), but not cramped. Concessions are reasonably priced as well. If you haven't been here before, I highly recommend you go at least once.

This is a small theater that doesn't look like a professional theater at all, but you dont mind one bit. It was a packed house for a reason. The seating was comfortable and sturdy, and you were very close to the actors and live band. They utilized the small space perfectly. This theater has a monumentally talented cast of performers. I mean, wow. It was amazing. I will definitely be going again. They have made a fan out of me. Also, the staff and volunteers were very friendly.

Its a little venue that is tucked away inside a place of learning here in Austin Texas. The cast, crew, and people who own the show are really wonderful folks and are also very talented. The plays are always so very well done and very much worth the price to see them. Go by and check them out, you wont regret it.

Although the building was a little warm, I had such a fabulous time seeing Guys and Dolls last night!! It's impressive to see such brilliant use of an old abandoned mall. Will definitely be coming to shows next season!

Great intimate venue with good audio, lighting, and comfortable seats. Great place to see some of Austin's best actors!

The best deal for theater in town. We've been season ticket holders since they opened and most all plays have been top drawer. The few that were'nt to my taste we're well done.
