Mia's Sweet Treats

While walking in Manitou Springs, my wife noticed a chalkboard sign for a Puerto Rican baker and wanted to stop by and support.

The inside was newly painted and the store itself was very clean.

Once we walked in, we were greeted by 2 very sweet ladies behind the pastry counter. They explained they had only been open for 3 months and we began discussing a little bit about the different options they have in store.

My wife ended up going with her “brand” and grabbing a guava and cheese pastry. Seeing that part of her family is Cuban & Chilean descent, it was a no-brainer once she saw it.

After we walked throughout the entire Manitou Springs downtown area, we headed back to Colorado Springs and she was ready to try the guava and cheese pastry. She really enjoyed the equal representation of guava and cheese inside the pastry dough itself. It definitely gave her some nostalgia about bakeries in Miami, FL.

Overall, we’re glad we stopped in and we would definitely recommend supporting this local bakery in Manitou Springs!

We found this delightful place on an evening stroll downtown. Friendly and welcoming service. The vegan cinnamon cakes were without a doubt the best we have ever had. It was difficult to find vegan yummies in Manitou so this place was a gold mine for us. The non vegan oatmeal cookie did not let us down either!

Delicious Pastries! Honestly, the best cupcake I've had in a long time. It was also fun to find something with guava because that can be difficult to come across. The shop is very cute and great customer service! Ten out of ten, will go back.

Just came across this place and decided to give a Limber a try (icy Puerto Rican dessert) and I WILL be back!! I got the peanut butter flavor one….I love peanut butter and the Limber was so creamy and yummy!!!

Fantastic cookie! Red velvet and white chocolate macadamia are to die for. Can’t wait to go back and try more goodies. Support your local businesses!

I can't decide if I like the birthday cake or carrot cake more, so I think I'll have to try them again... 😁

Decided to check this place while waiting in line for the custard place next-door. Walked in and place was nice and clean. Cashier was very nice. I saw that they served Puerto Rican sweet treats so I asked about the “Limber” ice cream they advertised. The cashier described it as an American popsicle. We decided to go with the Coconut Limber. The flavor was DELICIOUS but a little hard to eat because it was frozen in a cup, and a plastic spoon was not useful. Maybe if they inserted a popsicle stick in the cup it would be easier to eat. Other than that, it was delicious. Not sure if they give free samples but would be great if they did.

I've only tried one thing so far...a cherry turnover, upon recommendation from a nearby merchant. It was delicious, though sparse on the amount of filling for the price (hence the 4 stars instead of 5). But, that won't stop me from trying other sweets in the future.

Took friends here and they enjoyed it.

First time here and I got one red velvet cookie and one chocolate chip cookie as well as a strawberry lemonade (something like that) cupcake. The cupcake wasn't fresh but the icing was good. The red velvet cookie was as hard as a rock!! The chocolate chip cookie was perfect, I wish I got two of those instead of the red velvet.

We went here on Labor Day to get something sweet and they were without a wait so we thought we would give it a try and I was sadly disappointed. The staff were in personable, did not say much at all and I do not recall if they said hello or thank you.

I thought I hit the jackpot with a gluten free cupcake (yeah mom can enjoy too). But it was hard as a rock and not from the cold unit it was in, it was dry and tasteless. My children had some layered dessert and neither finished them albeit they were starving and we had not eaten lunch yet. They asked if they could throw them away because they were really gross. I would not waste my money here when there are so many other amazing places to try.

Wasn't open during posted hours, andcwe went to Manitou on a Saturday to go there. Oh well, there's plenty of sweets elsewhere! 😊
