Shining Mountain Golf Course and Event Center

Had an amazing time at shining mountain played some solid golf in beautiful scenery (deer/elk hang out on the course even). The staff was also perfect and friendly. Even got to play trivia in the dining room/bar after my round of golf (Thursdays only for trivia I think). Would recommend.

Talk about mountain hospitality. We got a flat tire just before we pulled in here and one of the guys gave us a ride in town so we could get a repair kit and finish our adventuring for the weekend. We played whispering pines disc golf and had a good time even if it was a bit uphill at times and they might need a few switchbacks on their pathways.

Loving this place. Course is inordinately well maintained for mountain golf and the staff is awesome. Been away from the game for a few years and this is my new goto. Back nine plays a bit targeted and lots of opportunities to lose balls you're not even allowed to try finding, but if you keep it on the straight and narrow it plays fairly easy

While we were checking in at the pro shop, my son mentioned that it was my 75th birthday. They comped my green fees! The course was in great shape. Just wish they would allow carts on the fairways, especially for seniors. But, I love having such a great golf course, with exceptional customer service, up Ute Pass!

Great golf course very challenging need to play fairway golf. They have a beverage cart with beer, great food at the bar and grill. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I will play there again

Golf course was in great condition but since they got alot of rain the night before the cart paths had alot of water. Challenging holes and very scenic views. Blue skies and comfortable temps. Will definitely come back again!

This was an absolutely amazing game. Super nice staff from the clubhouse, cart gal, marshal, bartender. We will definitely be back!!!

Great golf, awesome employees, and even better disc golf! I sure miss living in the area, but stop here every time I’m back in Woodland.

Fun and challenging course. Got a lot of rain so course is in good shape. Some very challenging holes, eapecially back nine. Rough is...well rough. Stay in the fairway and you're good to go.

Clean, friendly staff, fun activities, and kiddo friendly. Also they have fun trivia every THURSDAY EVENING AT 6:30 in the event hall!:)

This was my first time playing here and I played in the balls and chains tournament and I have to say this was one of the nicest and challenging courses I have played at so far. I will say I will be back with Friends

I cannot say enough good things about Becky and the staff at Shining Mountain Golf Club. Choosing this location for our wedding was very easy for us since we are avid golfers and love the scenery. Becky was very patient and answered all our questions over the year-and-a-half that we took to plan. In the last week leading up to the wedding, she was in touch with us several times and gave us full access to the room to decorate. The day of our wedding, she was exceptionally attentive. She went way beyond our expectations by carting us around the course to take pictures, scrubbing grass and grease out of my dress, and staying in close communication with our DJ and photographer to keep everything on track. Even though Becky is the person we communicated with most, the entire staff at the golf course deserve recognition as well. Kurt, who was tending bar the night of the wedding as well as the day before, deserves extra recognition because of his great attitude. Unlike other venue options, we were NOT put on a set timeline due to another wedding needing the room. The food we chose was exceptional and several guests asked who catered, because they couldn't believe a golf course could provide such wonderful food. We got personalized service, an exceptional view of Colorado, AWESOME food, and great staff. There is no doubt in my mind that we made the absolute BEST choice in vendors. I will recommend Shining Mountain to any and all people who are looking for a venue for their wedding.

The staff were truly wonderful!! From the front desk to the Marshalls on the course. The greens were in wonderful shape. Very pleasant change from Oklahoma golf courses. The views are spectacular!!

This is truly an amazing course! It looks small at first, but it is truly deceiving! The greens are open, but with long fairways, and quite a few hills, so you definitely want a cart! This is a challenging course! Beautiful protected wet land areas add to the beauty of the course. The greens and fairways are very well kept. Would definitely love to go back and play another round.

I just played this course 6/3/17. I'm around a 10 handicap and I played from the tips. I read several reviews before playing so my expectations weren't super high. I was blown away at how nice the course conditions were. Don't understand some of the past reviews. It's up there w pine creek. Slightly better because holes are way cooler. If u play from the tips the course is even better because they have several elevated tee boxes. Like extremely elevated. Very lush fairways and greens esp for a mountain course. No dead spots on greens. Can't beat it for the money. It's very peaceful being in the mountains. Some of the holes are so secluded and really gives you that mountain course feel. The only knock I can have on this place is that they didn't rake the bunkers the morning I played. It had rained the night before so maybe they don't do it when that happens. Also I had booked a tee time thru their website for me and a buddy. Paid 20 percent down to book online. He came down w bronchitis and I couldn't get refunded the money for his spot. Management should fix that. So book via telephone. If u want to impress your golfing buddies take them here. It's worth the drive.

great golf course and excellent bar! The best fish tacos I've ever had. Who designed the golf course? I LOVE this course and play at least 3 times a week. Been living in woodland park for a year now and I am glad I have found my new golf course. I highly recommend Shining Mountain!!

One of the best disc golfing experiences I've had. The course it long and challenging which makes it really great to play. It's a great mix of both worlds of disc golf and regular golf. It was worth the 2 hour drive. I'll be back soon!
