Brisket is top notch. Pulled pork had great smoky flavor and texture. Potato salad is unique and delicious. Awesome small, cozy atmosphere with friendly staff. Thick sauce is the best. If you like vinegar sauces the others are delicious too.

Holy Smokes Bbq again.
This time tried the sweet heat vinegar. They also do have a thicker rub but I didn’t realize so didn’t get it to try.
This second time that we went it was Wednesday around 11:30pm. It hadn’t gotten busy yet.

Some of the best bbq IF you like your bbq vinegary. They have a mild-vinegar and a hot-vinegar. They also have a sweet option.

My husband and I opted for the mild-vinegar. We loved it. I got a small sandwich deal with fries and a drink(Lunch deal). The small sandwiches are pretty small so you may want to get the large if you know you’ll eat a lot. I added coleslaw as well. Get the home cut fries, they are good.

The vinegar sauce we got is a very thin sauce like liquid. It’s not your thick bbq sauce. Your buns may get soggy and fall a part but just grab a fork. I highly recommend this place.

No complaints, good food especially the BBQ and the Burgers. Not much of a wait and the staff was very friendly.

I had the pork plate with beans and cole slaw. There was plenty of good food at a good price and I really liked the thick sauce. Pay no attention to the nit picking ninnies elsewhere in the reviews. Were the beans canned? I don't know. The roll that came with the meal was not hand made on-site, so what. Go in and enjoy a good meal, at a good price, served by really good people. I double dog dare ya.

The sandwich was delicious!! I don't usually like BBQ, but it was really tasty. Will visit again.

I had the small pulled pork plate with two sides it was absolutely delicious 👍👌 the owner showed up after I was there for a few minutes taking a break from working on his tractor outside, great great man very nice and very respectful cannot recommend this place enough if you're in the area! The two young girls working in the front and the young boy that was in the back making the plates were also very very respectful and very kind:) 10/10

The owner is a great person and the food is amazing. They have catered several events for us and we are never disappointed.

On September 5, 2020, I tried a hamburger based on a friends recommendation. He was right! This is now one of my favorite hamburgers in all of Jackson County!
Ate here twice in the same day and also tried a smoked chicken plate with potato salad and baked beans and everything was great! Excellent flavor all around!

Best BBQ and sauce in town! Super friendly staff! If I could give a 10 star rating I would!!

Local BBQ with a simple atmosphere. Food is good. Worth getting off the main highway to find some local color.

I just want to share the dinner experience my family just had in Scottsboro,AL! We were in a hurry and Lorelei had to pee, go figure, and wanted bbq, so we decided to pull in to Holy Smokes BBQ - Scottsboro. We had no recollection of time, just wanted the screaming kids out of the car. One starving, screaming and the other screaming she had to pee. We pulled in what I think was 6:50 ish and didn’t know what time it was or what their closing time was. These people were so gracious. Never wavered. Asked if we were dinning in. They were never rude, no dirty looks and took care of us. I finally got sat down and asked what time they closed, the gentleman was quick to reply it didn’t really matter to enjoy our dinner with our kids that he would be there for at least another hour. Y’all, their closing time was 7. I was mortified as it was 7:05 and continued to apologize while he talked to the kids and continued to serve us! Lorelei was quick to tell us it was the BEST hamburger she’s ever had. I scarfed my food down so fast it was so yummy! I am so grateful for this establishment and the service they provide to this area! Great food and great service is so hard to come by these days and we were just showed both! Thank you so much! Y’all go support them!!!!

Brisket plates were fantastic! Everything was yummy, loved the slaw & potatoe salad. We're from Texas and are very particular when it's bbq. This is REAL SMOKED food. We'll definitely be back now that we live in Section.

My husband and I had brisket sandwiches with coleslaw and sweet heat sauce, my daughter and niece had pulled pork baked potatoes. It was delicious. Thank you to the owner and staff, for a very pleasant food experience.

Hands down, the Best Brunswick Stew I've had! The pulled pork was great as well. We have just moved back to the area and will be eating at Holy Smokes again, soon! Service was fast and friendly especially for a weekend.

Best beef brisket I've had in Alabama! Potatoe salad had large pieces of potato and leaned more mayo than mustard. The wife loved it.

Brisket plate was absolutely amazing! Service was great, the cashier helped me choose from the sauces and offered to let me sample the potato salad.

We stopped in on Saturday to grab some food and it was the best brisket I've ever ate. The owner came around and spoke to us like we were regular customers, even offered to go to the store to get milkshake items because they were out. Everytime we are in the area we will definitely eat here again!! Highly recommend 👌

Fall off the bone ribs with delicious BBQ sauce but you don't even need the sauce cause the meat is so juicy and flavorful!! Great family/at home feel. The service was was really great and on point!
