Excellent choice for bicycle, or hiking, absolutely beautiful nature around, the trails are very well done and there are maps everywhere, around every corner. Would go again with my bicycle next time.

Nice place to hike around, not so nice for finding interesting plants. Did not dig up the spent housing of the nuclear reactors, but might come back. I saw a large and suspicious chunk of metal slag laying on the ground near the reactor site which I made sure to kick, and I am happy to report there are no burns on my foot.

This is such a cool park!!! There’s trails both paved and unpaved. Neat area to explore with parking lot to leave your car. There’s some pretty gnarly mountain bike trails if that’s your thing. I love this park so much.

Great mountain biking trails. Not for the faint of heart! You WILL have to work hard, but the immersion in nature is well worth it. Alternatively, you could take a whole day hike and get the same (maybe better) immersion. I wish it was closer so I could come here more frequently. I'm going to check out the area for hotels for multi day experiences. Just get yourself and your friends there. You can thank me later.

Cold windy muddy day for a nature walk but nonetheless a lovely time. Fascinating history behind the area. It's just great to be outside again!

Had a great time on a Thursday evening it was moderately busy, I wend on the orange and black diamond trail. I'm still a novice, but the route was doable though I was slower than many of the advanced riders with superior bikes. Had a little trouble finding my way from the orange route back to the parking lot due to an unmarked route that connects the two. Will definitely go back.

Great place for picnicking. Great history of this location at the dawn of the atomic age. Access to main orange trail up to the moraine trail.

This is a great mountain bike trail network. Please beware, some of the inner loops are HARDCORE mountain biking trails! If you’re not in decent shape or don’t have an actual mountain bike that can withstand the pounding, do not attempt! It is a pretty big network and it’s easy to get lost. Use your phone’s GPS or an app like Trailforks.

I love the diversity of options here. The mountain biking is probably easy for the young guys with their big tires, but manageable for us older folks with hybrids, energy & patience. There is a variety of trails so it's important to look at the difficulty before starting out (which we did not do). But love going back & trying new trails or trying to conquer the ones that are tough.

Great bike path, great walking path; nice shade trees on a hot day; found the burial site for nuclear reactor!

Great trails! Lots of uphill and downhill options. There are also some flat trails. They all link up to other areas, so you can do long or short hikes. Additionally they all well maintained and not full of shrubs. There are some creeks so expect to get a little muddy in places, but nothing too crazy.

The people who maintain the park were very friendly, welcoming, and understanding. They made us a fire on what was a rainy day and prepared s'mores for us. The trails appear to be designed primarily for mountain biking but the area is generally beautiful, especially I imagine, in the summer.

A wonderfully empty place, where rough trails wind through a surprisingly hilly bit of forest. You can explore undisturbed for hours. The only caveats: be careful of mud, the trails get a bit thick at times...and watch out for TICKS. If you bring your dog, make sure to give them a good checking and a bath afterwards.

Great place to get on the MTB trails or take a hike. Less crowded compared to other lots at Palos.

Top notch trails, predominantly mountain bike, but can definitely hike or run also. Very courteous people. Very clean trails

Very interesting historic site where the world's FIRST atomic reactor is now buried! A new, inscribed marker there is accessible from an easy hiking trail of approximately two miles total from the parking lot and back. Family friendly and educational. Recommended!
