Selma’s Ice Cream Parlor

I stopped in here after hiking in Afton State Park. The place was buzzing with people so I figured it had to be good. The server recommended "This $&@! Just Got Serious", and I went with the next best flavor that caught my eye "Rhubarb Crumble". I was told by another server that the first one was a "sweet and salty explosion" so at that point I had to try it. There is something about ice cream shops where the workers' vibes are always right. As far as the servers recommendation, they couldn't have picked a better flavor. This ice cream was spectacular. I didn't even really remember what was in it, but I did experience the sweetness and saltiness that they were talking about. The rhubarb crumble was also spot on with the flavor profiles. This ice cream was smooth, decadent, and definitely something I would treat myself to again if I was passing through Afton. There was also great seating outside too!

It was a warm day in MN...so on a nice day many individuals lined up for a sweet, cold treat at Selma's. The 2 employees were busy but rocked it. As always the Rhubard Crumble hit the spot for a warmer, fall day. The outdoor scenery made for a perfectly, wonderful, sunny addition with a treat in one hand (Rhubard Crumble) and an affogato on the other.

Popular for tourists and locals, great location on the main drive, got parking and outdoor seating. Many many great quality ice cream flavors and choices available, all fresh tasting and delicious. Service is fast, friendly and accurate $$$. Highly recommend

Best ice cream in town! Love the location. Plenty of parking, nice sitting area but maybe bring a blanket if you do need to sit in the grass area or bed of a truck, etc. It's across the street from a park. If you want to take a stroll you could walk on main street or the path behind Selma's! The koi pond is always an eye catcher. Everyone working is always friendly. Best flavor and if you don't see it on the board still ask for it is called Fat Elvis. Banana ice cream with peanut chunks and chocolate swirl. It's so good!! Definitely check it out if you're in the area or just want somewhere new to try!

Lots of old school candy options here. Ice cream options are decent as well. We just got coffee and hot chocolate though lol. The outdoor atmosphere here is so cute and cozy. They have seating inside as well.

Super cute ice cream parlor. They offer ice cream nachos! Have never heard of a place that makes waffle chips, so we ordered some to go with my husbands malt. They were awesome & perfect for dipping. Staff was young but very friendly. They have a cute little patio with a covered tables and plants. Selma’s was a perfect pit stop on a gorgeous summer afternoon.

Great ice cream selections and candy. They were very busy when we were there and overall I would recommend of a chain ice cream location.

Located in a small MN town Afton, where Olympic hero Jessie Diggins was raised, this ice-cream shop has a unique selection of different and delicious flavors🍦Our family enjoyed sitting on a patio on a nice summer day!

Such a lovely small establishment! They have a wide variety of spectacular candy and ice-cream flavours! I highly recommend stopping by for a visit as the products are very fairly priced. And the service was fast and friendly, again can't recommend this place enough!

I love Selma’s. They have a variety of different flavors of ice cream and many different unique candies. I also love the atmosphere considering it has been open since 1910 and is Minnesota’s oldest ice cream parlor. Would definitely recommend.

I've been going here for over 30 years and it continues to be the same awesome small town ice cream shop with an impressive selection of old time candy. If your in Afton, it's a must stop.

Another one of the great ice cream shops along the saint croix river valley. They have so many fun and creative flavors.

Love Selma's! They always have amazing icecream. My favorite is their zanzibar kind. It's dark chocolate and seriously the best if you are a chocolate lover like me. They also have a big selection of other iceceams plus you can get specialty items like banana splits and malts or shakes. They also have a section with retro candies if you're into that kind of thing.

Friendly staff. Clean. Following Covid-19 guidelines. Only one family/group in the store at a time. Can order inside or at outside window.
