Bohemian Road Beach Good Harbor Bay

These are just iPhone photos on a tripod, because I didn’t charge my camera, but this is an absolutely lovely place to star gaze. I took a group of students here to walk after dinner and it was magical. There are a lot of lights north of the beach, but it’s pretty dark heading south. For a true blackout experience, you’d probably have to go up to Northport. It’s a perfect beach to visit at any hour of the day.

This is such a beautiful beach ⛱ There is a side for dogs, so we went with our pup and had a great time. You can see for miles and there's lots of rocks for collecting and good swimming. It was very easy access, and it was not crowded at all.

We almost missed out on this beautiful beach because we road to the end of the heritage bike trail and was planning to turn around to head back. Decided to follow the road to the bathroom before doing the 10 miles back. So glad we did. This was a breathtaking surprise. The water is a gorgeous tropical color. The beach was nice and while busy it wasn’t crowded. You can find some good sized Petoskey stones here if you know what to look for. I was unlucky in the hunt for them but a lovely lady passed one to the kiddo. It was so nice of her even if the kid managed to lose it in the thirty seconds it took to get to the bike. I will say I wish I was better prepared and had packed a picnic lunch because this would have been a marvelous spot for it. I wish my pictures did the place justice but alas I’m still in the learning phase.

This beach was absolutely amazing! It was beautiful. Was not crowded at all. Quite a few (well behaved) dogs. The water was very cold. But that's normal. Some very beautiful rocks!

Amazing beach that isn’t filled with tourists! It still looked beautiful on a mostly cloudy day. Everything was surprisingly peaceful for a Northern Michigan beach during summer (went here in August). As another reviewer said, keep this beach a secret please!

What a hidden treasure right in plain sight! A basically locals beach that's rarely crowded even on the weekends....it's views of pyramid point and North Manitou Island make it mind boggling this is not inundated with tourists from Sleeping Bear Dunes every day of the summer. Seriously...go to this beach and don't tell anyone about it...it's just between you, me and the internet. Ok?

Our family grew up on Good Harbor Bay before the Park took it over. We are grateful to visit it in its pristine state. We parked at the public access to make it easier to get my 93 yr old mother to the beach with her walker. Some of us walked to our old cottage site, barefoot!

Memories abound taking in the familiar sites. It was nice that both sisters and my brother could all be on the beach again to enjoy the water and beach with our mom one more time. We are all in our 60's now. It's nice to see so many, be able to enjoy it too. It could have been very different if Hilton or Marriott got to it instead.

Dogs are allowed on beach to the left of county road. One shaded picnic table. Very clean vault toilet available. Beautiful beach! Clean, fairly busy. No camping, but beach fires are permitted.

One of our favorite beaches with fond memories and a great view of Empire Bluffs. I'm a softy when it comes to walking on stones to get in the water, so wear your water shoes and walk right in, sit right down, baby let your.mind roll on. The water is clean and the temp was around 68
It didn't hurt. The cooler wind made it less refreshing but I love this Lake so it was time regardless.

Great beach. Free public. Plenty o places to park to get a spot. Beautiful sand and water.

Relaxing beach. Parking available plenty of room to spread out and claim your own spot. Try your hand at skipping a few rocks. Plenty to try.

Great beach on Lake Michigan. Faces north so if you come for a sunset you won’t see the sun actually go down along the horizon. Still beautiful though!

I have been many places in the world. This is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever visited. Good harbor, bay, pyramid, point, the entire sleeping Bear national Lakeshore. It’s just breathtaking. The pictures are wonderful but don’t do it justice that’s a favor and plan a trip! It will be an unforgettable one.

We like this beach for the area allowing dogs. One side without dogs, one side with. Plenty of space and not too crowded. You can catch the sunset from a paddle board, but otherwise the view is facing north.

The most beautiful, long, sandy beach I've seen in Michigan so far! Only disadvantage was that the water was turned off already so I couldn't wash my feet and there isn't anywhere to change clothes except the outhouse.

Wow...hidden gem. I wish we would have stumbled upon this beach sooner. But, I cant wait to spend some time here next summer.
