Hickory River Smokehouse

Pretty great! We got the full rack of ribs dinner, which comes with two sides and a piece of cornbread (we ordered an additional so we could each have one) and split it. They very nicely brought it out on two separate plates without us having to ask. $36 before tip.

The honey barbecue sauce was excellent! Mac & cheese and mashed potatoes were also great. The cornbread was a little too crumbly for us, but a nice size chunk.

We’ll doubtlessly be back!

My meal was excellent. Will definable be back. Service was top notch. Staff was friendly. The pulled pork and ribs were some of the best I’ve ever had. Wasn’t a fan of the coleslaw but I told the girl in the dining room, who brought me out potatoes and gravy which were more to my liking. And that folks is service! Keep up the good work guys and I’ll see you again next time I am in town.

Had take-out. Everything was awesome!! Brisket was amazing and the mac'n cheese was the best I've ever had. I spent over $30 but it was 4 meals me. Definitely worth every penny!!

Always worth the almost 3 hour drive for us from Chicago. Everything we have tried has tasted great. We have tried the ribs, brisket, and wings, so delicious.

True story, my son is a picky eater. I told him he was going to eat ribs because I wasn't getting anything else.
I put 2 ribs on his plate and expecting to fight with him.
He gave them a try and asked for more. Gave him 4 ribs, he ate those and asked for 2 more!
He said they were good and so tender. This is coming from a teen that mainly orders Mac and Cheese wherever we go.

P.s. Don't forget to take some of their bbq sauce home!

We have had many great meals at Hickory River. It is a great place to get very good barbeque quick and with friendly service. My husband loves their polish sausage and que-shoe (pulled pork over fries with queso). I love the pork nachos and smoked potato with pulled pork. They always remember us when we come in and welcome us back.

Tonight there was a small issue with my son's chicken tenders, but the manager came out, apologized, made it right, and gave us a gift card for a future visit. Like I said, service done right.

If you are looking for a quick meal at Grand Prairie that is filling, tastes good, and is delivered with a smile, look no further.

Stopped here for lunch and it was delicious! Got the sandwich special (pulled pork today) with 2 sides (I got both Mac n cheese) and a 20 oz drink for $9! Best deal I’ve ever seen for a good bbq lunch with sides! Fast friendly service, nice facility, the food was great! Will definitely be returning, many more menu items I’d like to try! Big menu with lots of options at great prices! Very similar to Mission BBQ who copied off Hickory River’s concept but I’d choose Hickory River any day. Hands down!

One of the friendliest places I have been to in a long time. The service was great and the food was even better. I had the brisket sandwich with Mac and cheese with the chili. The food was not dry at all. I will definitely be returning soon.

It's always a wonderful meal when we visit this place! Today I tried the pork nachos for the 1st time and I gotta say they were pretty great. I was apprehensive at 1st because I'd never had anything like that before but tasted pretty darn good and I couldn't even finish them! Great place to have a family meal!

We purchased the pre-made Thanksgiving meal and it was DELICIOUS!! This was our first time eating here but we will be back. Best BBQ in central IL in my opinion. Thank you for the tasty food and awesome service!

Delicious Texas Style BBQ. We had the baked potato, chopped brisket sandwich, and sliced brisket. For sides we had some delicious Mac and cheese and corn bread. We also had some chili and cornbread, although a little too sweet for my taste, it was filling and spicy. Word of caution, to avoid getting scolded at the counter, please enter through the correct door. I wish I had that reminder ahead of time.

1st time here. Friendly staff. Quick service. Food was very good. Atmosphere is very relaxed. Would eat here again.

I came into town to visit my Wife’s family. She had a craving for ribs. On my way to another restaurant(based on familiarity) I came across this gem! Being a first timer here, I felt like family when I came in. Everyone was so nice and inviting. I ordered food for all of the family & the cooks were so patient with me! We had the ribs and the bbq sauce was great! I will definitely recommend this place to the rest of the family & my friends. I also will be back! 🕺🏾

Food came out fast it tasted good hard to find good bbq since Big Johns closed! But it was delicious.

Fast delicious BBQ, be sure to arrive before they close though. This is the pulled pork platter with pinto beans and potato salad.

This is a great bbq spot. Go get you some if you love flavor and friendly staff! Worth the trip, they've got a good menu and a clean restaurant.

I have eaten at Hickory River many times and always enjoy their delicious food. I especially enjoy getting the daily lunch special, which is an exceptional value. I have had the pulled pork and the brisket, but no matter what, I always choose applesauce as a side. It tastes like homemade and is amazing. I also like to add a piece of their delicious cornbread.
When my Mom was in the hospital at Thanksgiving, my family ordered the Thanksgiving meal that Hickory River offers. It was amazing!
Whether it’s an everyday meal or a special occasion, Hickory River is the best!
